I am serious there is no savings for the past 2 years now. All those budget thing doesn't work anymore it use to work 2 years ago. Although last year i spent over N2.5M to renew my licence due to high dollar rate. Now my rent of 2 bedroom which i normally pay N600K was just increased to N1.5M, Landlords are angry right now. although i am planning to move out in search of a cheaper one with no luck yet. So how do i now start drawing a budget. Of recent i keep drawing budget that never works. Let just face the reality on ground now N1M of today is same value of N100K 2 years ago.

Lagos rent isn't for the faint-hearted. Are you limiting the search to same area you live? I agree with the currency devaluation and inflation.
I'm short of words honestly and it's not easy for people to reduce their standards to save costs.

I don't even believe in staying far from work because of cost, you will spend that money on transport, traffic, getting home late and tired etc. Omo it's not easy, companies won't just agree to transfer u because u want, u might even set urself up cos they feel u doing too much.

If his job is available in another state, he should move away from Lagos, e.g seek transfer to a branch in a low cost state.
I don't know what else to say before I'll be accused of insensitivity, but if he's over 40, he needs to take action as he wouldn't be too far from retirement (civil service) and retrenchment (private sector).

Are you serious with the no savings?
Even if your job may be secured, it's a cause for concern.
Have you drawn a budget to identify your cost drivers and see how to work around them?
I do hope you have investment vehicles before your family expanded.

I belong to the school of thought that most female victims of yahoo plus guys who were their bfs saw the signs but maybe underestimated the extent to which he'll go.
There's a difference between hardworking and desperate to be rich by all means and ladies should know the difference.
Ladies should choose to be good persons in all that they do and I pray that they meet good people along the way.

What I know is that in Ogun state, the proximity to Lagos influences the price. Maybe the land has mineral resources in commercial quantities hence the price.
