Hello everyone, I am a bit worried. I am a masters degree student. I applied for sowp for my spouse and sp and vv for my kids using spouses’ account. On the 24th of march, eligibility review started and I received a message to provide my own pof, and was given 7 days to provide it. I was told that the sowp application will be placed on hold till I provide it. I uploaded the required document on the 26th of March. Pls note that I provided bank statements of spouse containing more than required Pof, but mine was requested alongside. Ever since I uploaded the doc requested, it’s stuck at “we are currently reviewing your eligibility “, and the section for the additional document reads “the documents requested have been uploaded” It’s beginning to look like my family application is still on hold, as they have not started reviewing the additional document. It’s been 2 weeks since I uploaded it. I have also sent countless web forms and emails to no avail. Should I really be worried? Medicals completed already, and this eligibility stage is the only incomplete evaluation. It’s been 2.5 weeks since the eligibility review started |

Happy new year everyone. Landing gist Left Ibadan to Lagos on the morning of December 31st. My kids were still asleep so I kissed them and cried heavily. I was going to really miss them. Lodged in an hotel close to the airport, slept a little, cried again, and finally left for the airport around 5pm with my husband. We got to the first gate and they didn’t want to allow my husband in. We gave them what they wanted and he was allowed. Same also happened at the entrance. Agricultural dept and quarantine asked what I had in my bag, they didn’t even allow me say anything before asking me to do end of the year for them. Sorted them and check in started. I flew airfrance. The official asked for my enrollment letter, admission letter, and tuition receipt (I paid only deposit, showed them the receipt), was cleared to check in. Check in was very fast because I got there early. Collected my boarding pass and went to wait for preboarding at the new terminal. Said goodbye to my husband and proceeded. Everything went smooth. We had a 30min delay and flight took off at exactly 12:00 on new year. Couldn’t eat their food. Landed in Paris after 5 hours….then something happened….I got lost. So there was this guy, his family and two other ladies I hooked up with. Whilst waiting for our connecting flight, he decided to go find something to eat. He called his wife after about an hour and said he was lost and was trying to navigate. He called back and said he was at one gate but will need his boarding pass to cross. His wife couldn’t go because of their kids, she begged me to go. I did Met up with him in less than 3mins, and that was where the wahala started. ‘Twas a one way in, I couldn’t go back. We went round the airport, and asked questions, but no one could understand or reply us well…even the immigration and security officers. Everyone spoke French After about 3 hours of merry-go-rounding, including preboarding for a flight we didn’t need just so we could go out and connect through another door, took two trains and one bus, we were still lost. In my mind, I was like “my village people don finally catch me”. God so good, my connecting flight was still in 2hrs. Finally met an official who could understand us a little but couldn’t speak. She snapped our pictures and was able to locate our other group. She kinda linked us up, and all of us connected. We connected and touched down toronto. I was scared because I hadn’t paid my fees yet. We got there and immigration asked all of us to line up, collected our LOI together, printed our study permit, called our names, and asked us to form another line. There were just 3 CbBSA officers on seat, others were on holidays for the new year. I already had my study permit at hand, and joined the queue. Got to my turn and was asked if I had meat, I said yes. Asked for the course I was studying, then she stamped my passport, wrote something on it and cleared me to go. Waited again for my connecting flight to Halifax. Got to Halifax, cleared my boxes, couldn’t change money. Called my flat mate, ordered my taxi and got home. I pray all of us here will have breath-taking testimonies very soon…in Jesus name Happy new year everyone 25 Likes 1 Share |

Some SOP tips that I used. They might come handy. I got my PPR in 19 days. First, start with an intro : My name is xxxx, and I am writing in respect to my application for a Canadian study visa to pursue a xxxx at xxxx University. Write a summary of your personal background. : State your name, spouse n kids (if any), siblings and parents. Please list their full name. You may also want to include the jobs they do. Summarize your academic background : Please summarize every of your academic qualifications, including short courses, certifications, etc. Summarize your professional background : Summarize every job experience listed in your cv/resume. Please list volunteering experiences too. Write the reason for wanting to study course of choice : In this case, you might want to find a connection between your educational and professional experience, and then state it. In my case, I searched online and saw a major issue stated by the fed govt, and the issue was linked to my course of study. I stated this issue, wrote how this course will help mitigate this issue, and in turn, we would have a better Nigeria. I also copied the link to the news on punch website, and inserted it into my SOP. Reason for studying in Canaaada : Truthfully, there was no university in Nigeria that offered the course I wanted to study, so I stated that. I made utmost research on this. Finance : Please do a table of your funds in Naira, and then convert it to CAD. List the funds in both Naira and cad. Also list where each fund comes from. Include sponsorship, bank statement, savings, gist deed, property valuations etc Draw a table for your expenses : Explain how you intend to spend the money (insurance, medicals, bus pass, etc) Lump sum explanation : Explain every lump sum in details. List every travel status : if you have ever been refused visa into any country, if you have/have had an express entry status, etc. Conclusion : You can include your resumption date and appeal for a speedy application consideration. Also state an assurance that you will conduct yourself well, and adhere to the rules and regulations. Underneath, do a comprehensive list of your supporting documents so that they can understand when checking. Eg Enclosed documents LOA B.sc cert &transcripts Xxxx certification Pictures with parents and siblings Picture at work House doc etc. Please be neat, use proper grammar, punctuations and paragraphs. Proper paragraphs are very important. It makes it easy to read. SOP shouldn’t bore the reader. 3-4 pages max. You can have less than that. (A friend’s SOP was just about 10 lines and was approved). Font size should be around 9 or 10. Please also make use of an official and professional font type. Pray oh, pray for grace. If you are tired, you can switch to just singing praises. Remember that the walls of Jericho fell down flat when the children of God were praising the Lord. Never underestimate the power of praises and thanksgiving. 21 Likes 4 Shares |
