Please who else is using ICAS for ECA? I am evaluating my masters certificate and they received my documents since April 6th yet my status is still in queue for assessment.

Is it advisable to get into the pool while waiting for ECA because I got an email from them that they are currently attending to applicants from February

What ECA number do you want to use to enter the pool with?

Am I the only one having issues with IQAS website? Can't seem to find the application form they referred to in paragraph 4. Searched everywhere and even sent them a mail, I also changed my browser to no avail. The person that wants to help me pay online is asking for login details which I couldn't generate on the site.

Someone should kindly put me through as this is the 3rd time I'm asking about this. I'd have used WES but I was told that IQAS evaluates a lawyer's 1st degree as a professional degree. Please help a colleague embarassed

Its an online application form which you complete and in the end it will be emailed to you

Hello people....just want to clarify something. NOUN PGD is NOT 2 years....MSC is 3 semesters but i'm certain PGD for sciences is 2 semesters. I registered around march or so....test is already out and exams starts next month.Thats for 1st semester and 2nd semester starts almost immediately.

Nice. This is looking like the best option for to increase their CRS score.......

And anything equivalent to their secondary school diploma has its migration points but favors most when it comes from the dependent. Read this link https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/immigrate-canada/express-entry/become-candidate/eligibility/education-assessed/report.html

Interesting. Didn't know this but the link is broken. grin Maybe those who need it can do more research on this

Good morning fam. The new update came with a new question thus, "are you a valid Permanent Resident of the USA with a valid green card" . Please how do I respond to the question for my kids who have US passports and not "Green Cards"? Details of their US passports are already inputted

I believe the answer should be NO. They are citizens not permanent residents.

If only we will take the time to read, the pages of this thread won't be flying by so fast.

Uncle @Adesire1 please see below

GlitteringStar:

Yes. According to IRCC, to get points for "two or more certificates", one of the certificates should be a three-year or more certificate, diploma, or degree PLUS any of the results in the sections below (source). The "sections below" refers to:

1. Bachelor’s degree or other programs (three or more years) at a university, college, trade or technical school, or other institute or
2. Two-year degree, diploma or certificate from a program at a university, college, trade or technical school, or other institute or
3. One-year degree, diploma or certificate from a program at a university, college, trade or technical school, or other institute.

To claim points under number three, the ECA assessment results include:

College Certificate
Completion of College-level certificate
University Certificate
University Diploma
One-year certificate in [name of discipline]
Post-secondary certificate with a focus in [area of concentration]
One-year Post-secondary certificate with a focus in [area of concentration]
One-year certificate
Post-secondary certificate with a focus in [area of concentration]
One-year Post-secondary certificate with a focus in [area of concentration]
One-year certificate

Therefore, you are good to go if the ECA summary is "College Certificate" or "Completion of College-level certificate".

Wat score will a sec school certificate give if evaluated?

Nothing, It will give nothing.

Only post secondary school certificates have a shot at being positively evaluated (giving points)

So I'm asking out of sheer curiosity and not to mock him or form oversabi or anything, but why do people recommend Jay in the first place? I read here that he had a 6.5 when he had his own test (later upgraded to 7.5). That doesn't sound like the result of someone who should be giving out writing tips to others......

Just thinking out loud sha.....

When doing evaluation with IQAS, is it compulsory to request for hard copy of the evaluation or with a soft copy suffice for the purpose of sending same to CIC when filling their form?

This question has been asked repeatedly. You don't need the hard copy.

My Wes status has been stuck on "we are evaluating your report" since the 18th of May. My estimated completion date is this Friday 8/6/18, however I'm trying to project the possibility of it being ready between today and tomorrow morning.

Are we expecting a draw tomorrow? is that why you don't want to wait until Friday when they said it will be ready??

Well.. they hadn’t started security checks but criminality checks had been completed. Status was passed. Eligibility: recommended passed, Info sharing with the Us: in progress.

Okay. I think you are nearing completion very soon. I found the information sharing part on my notes and it has also been completed (didn't specify country though). So just security and criminality pending. It is well.

Haaaa... now I’m officially worried.

Hian, nooooo don't be jor! I know many single people that have been processed on time while many married are still waiting for PPR months after AOR. I don't think there is any hard and fast rule about this.

That you are single now doesn't mean you won't marry and have kids na. I was just trying to explain the 'Canadian reasoning' based on what I've read online.

I read a post on Quora this morning stating that what the Canadian government is actually after is the children of immigrants who they are sure will receive the best Canadian education and contribute to the economy of Canada in the future and not the parents. Might not be true but then worth knowing

Of course. Thats why they are taking in this much immigrants in the first place. They have an aging population with low birth rates. Yes taking educated and qualified parents is good, but the children have a better chance of being integrated into the Canadian system as first generation Canadians of Immigrant parents. Such children are more likely to recognize Canada as their country of origin unlike adults that will still claim 'Nigerian-Canadian' cheesy

The placeholders have been generated for me since 29th of May (public hols that afforded me time to populate it carefully). Since then, I have logged in and out more than 4 times...No extra placeholder popped up.

Try Internet explorer/mozilla firefox. It also happened to me. For the Schedule A and refusal notes, maybe sneak them with your passport (after the passport pages undecided)

Good morning house. Please I’m getting worried o. I requested for gcms notes through getgcms.com on April 23 and got it on May 4. 95 pages which showed that my VO is Ottawa. The reviewing officer recommended pass but I also noticed that file sharing was still pending (partner was US). I assumed was because of a visa denial I got in June 2017.
I requested for gcms notes again on May 16 through gcmsbuddy and I am yet to get a response.
I’m wondering why it’s taking this long. AOR is Feb 5.
Abi is it because I’m single?

Interesting. My VO is also Ottawa and I have a previous US visa refusal. Had they started your security and criminality checks?

I get you but the thing is I didn't get an "additional document" placeholder when I finished populating the profile forms.

It will all end in praise IJN!

It happens sometimes. There should be a separate placeholder for Additional document / LOE something like that. Try logging in with a different web browser, hopefully it will pop up (unless they have changed the system)
