I had my baby 2 days after landing. Went through the ER though so didn't get to find a doctor and all that. Just wanted to point out that if you're planning on birthing in Alberta there's some rule about being resident in Alberta at least 6months out of 12 months. Maybe look it up to clarify. Congrats and all the best!

Thank you and congrats as well! I'll look into it, hopefully the highest penalty will be to pay the fees.

@ysteph and Tojued, I really appreciate you guys. Why am so inquisitive is I want to eliminate error as much as possible.
Now I have another situation at hand. My wife is an outsource staff of one outsource company but was placed to Union bank to work. Now as for getting reference letter, how do we go about it...?

Which company gave her an offer/employment letter? which company pays her salary? which company will be willing to give her the reference letter?

The answers to the above should help you decide how to go about it.

She is fine. You people should reduce the pressure of 'Newmum0615 is next' grin

I agree. We all wish her well and can't wait to rejoice with her, but the constant reminder that her application is still in process will definitely put more pressure on her and might do more harm than good smiley

Yay...congrats in advance dear.

Please go and submit your passport sharp sharp.

Hope the short landing wouldn't stress you though, getting used to new baby and flying back to naija can be a lot

Thanks dear, God has been faithful.

Regarding the stress, I'm really trying not to think about it cry cry Want to use this time to find out as much info as possible so I'll be well prepared. I'm yet to read up on the experience of anyone who landed and had a baby soon after

The question would be... How much is involved in this transaction(s)? If its a bulk payment(s)... Thats what you need to explain. I am sure the VO must have seen alot of NEFT transactions in the past so i dont think they are asking you for definition but the particular transaction(s)

Exactly.

I don't have any other option o... She is not ready or willing to immigrate at the moment because of her job... #fear of the unknown#,and i understand because it is not easy to leave a job that pays more than half a million monthly and with better career prospects.
Also the kids are still young, the boy is 4 and the girl is 1,so I think it's better i go alone to better my own career prospects and then we can figure out the rest later

Personally I'd say apply with her, at least that will save you all the hassle of submitting TRV applications later (which have a chance of being rejected because the VO may question their willingness to leave after the visa expiration since they have such strong reasons to remain: You).

She can make the short landing and return with the kids, then she has 3 years to work on getting a similar or even higher job in Canada and then come over permanently. If after 3 years she still doesn't want to migrate that is fine, she can easily let her PR status expire. #my2cents

Thanks for this info...i have finally decided to apply alone after checking that my CRS will be 436 with ielts score of LRSW-8777,and it could even rise to 445 if I perform better in the ielts.
So the plan is for my wife to visit with the kids as often as possible, and I am optimistic that they will easily get a visitors visa since she has a good job with an oil firm.
Thanks once again

The choice is yours, but remember, it will be difficult (time, energy and cost consuming) to sponsor her later.

Yes, 6 weeks my sister, to sell all my household belongs, process all licenses sort out all necessary family issues.
As per your shortlanding, It depends on the reason. Some shortlanding to return after a year.
Are you under a short time frame to land? When is your medicals expiring? Are you scared so you want to test the land first?

Okay, makes sense.

Actually the short landing is so we can have our Canadian baby by Gods Grace grin grin will stay for just a few months then return to prepare properly.

Dear all, please concerning the work experience,i work with an audit firm and my boss is somehow...#village people, so I cannot even entertain the idea or thought of getting a reference letter from him.
However, I have a friend whose father owns an audit firm, and has agreed to write the reference letter for my work experience....
i want to inquire if I get the reference letter in the prescribed cic format including employment letter, will it suffice??....i hope stuffs like payslip and statement of salary account would not be needed also
Thanks all as I anticipate your prompt responses

Are you working for your friends father? No. So him giving you a reference letter is lying and misrepresentation. If you are caught, you face the risk of having 5 years ban. Many people have gone this route without being caught but remember, na who dem catch be thief.

Pray very well and then approach your boss when he is in a good mood.

That sounds like a good plan however, note that to continue to maintain her PR status, she must be physically present in canada for 3yrs in the ist 5yr period to be eligible for renewal of pr status or application for citizenship.

Not quite correct. They need to spend 2 years out of 5 years to renew PR, and 3years out of 5 for citizenship.

Please guys. I worked for 1 year in 2016 after my graduation. I was only paid in cash as it was like an internship. How do I prove I worked there considering I don't have statement of account showing the salary trail.

No one ever said statement of account showing salary deposit was compulsory. Get your reference letter in strict CIC format and let them mention you were paid in cash. If you can get pay slips from the company to support the letter then you should be good to go.

Hmm.

The waiting no easy at all. Preparing for IELTS is easy, at least you are doing something. But waiting for WES, kai.

For those post-AOR, I can't even imagine the waiting. I manage by spending time here.

The Cananda PR process na big way to learn patience.

I almost gave myself high bp with the constant checking.... but in the end no one will tell you to calm down grin.

Welcome here, I remember your contributions from the Express entry thread. Good to see you again!!
Also been reading contributions in the past 3weeks, this thread has been resourceful, had to resign to have a six weeks pre-landing period to do all Naija preparations. As the days draw closer, it is still as if there's so much to be done!!

Thank you grin

Wow, 6 weeks? I'm thinking of having a short landing October and only stopping work 3 days in advance cry do you think thats advisable?

Thanks for the advice.
I already applied for a new passport (change of name) and hopefully it shld be out b4 month end

If you didn't apply in lagos (meaning you have a good chance of it coming out before the end of the month), I'd say just wait. We are almost at the middle of the month already. Every change you make post ITA is recorded in your application and, while it may not be significant enough to affect your application negatively, do you really want to go through the hassle of uploading new details and explaining name change, when you can just wait a few weeks?

Thats just my take on it. Feel free to decide for yourself.

Most likely fake news. Oyinbo people don't do these sorts of things in my experience.how would they obtain consent at that time when you haven't committed a crime and your phone was not unlocked? What reason did they give for going through his phone?

Abeg...takes this with a bag of salt...

Fake or not, an important message is being passed. people should be conscious of the kind of data and information stored in their devices.
