Can a statement of account printed from Oct 1st 2023 - January 25 be considered a 4 months bank statement. Please I need clarification on that.

Good morning everyone, please is Police report compulsory for SOWP application, the process of getting it now is very complicated. Can I apply without it?

At first we showed 15m and her visa was approved, we have paid half of her school fees. Balance of $8300. Now I have 10m left before her visa was approved. I removed 5m to start building my own proof of funds but after the announcement i decided to apply immediately. I added her dad’s account to the proof of funds so we have around 23m in total now. Should I still add more funds to it? or the 23m is okay? I also declared asset worth N88m and a business that i earn 10m annually.

If same POF used by ur spouse is what you are presenting, the system will pick it up as it was built to identify similarities in SOWP. How much did your spouse showed? He/She is yet to pay school fees and e.t.c. In their calculation, they will take that away from what you are showing to them cos it is same bank account and see if the rest is enough for you. There are a lot to all this thing. It would have been easy if she has paid for her school fees and in canada already. Am gonna leave it at that. Best of luck

[Do not try to come now. There is no clarity on those who will be affected yet. I will advice you come in 2 months to when you are starting school. Pls come with all documents especially POF as those border officer will be strict now. You can apply for your spouse right away. You dont have to wait. Do not use same account you submitted for ur application. Hope this will help.

Whatever you please do not give them fake or false information, they will verify all the verifiable. If they notice a fake or false info it can lead to ban.

Indians dont even wait to get to canada before they do. So absolutely YES. Eligibility will change in many weeks. Eligibility still remain now. As much as no one can guarantee the outcome, but it is better to give it a shot before they pulled down the curtain finally

I am still building my POF which started this month, I have a lump sum amount that was sent from one of my account, I honestly don’t know how to go about defending that although I have a poultry farm. The opening balance is very low but currently it’s high enough to apply for the application. Can anyone help with an advice?

Seriously this people are playing with people's emotions, they just refused my wife's application reasons been that The purpose of her visit is not consistent with a temporary stay given the details we provided in our application - I guess this has to do with the course my wife is coming to study. maybe they didn't see career progression which is not true because, she graduated in 2021 (BSC Agric science) after which she formally decided to venture into business.

Less than one year after her graduation, we officially registered our two companies in 2022 even though the business has been existing unregistered while she was in school. since then she has been managing the company. So going for a PGD course in global business management is needed to help her gain the relevant skills needed to further enhance the growth of the company since her first degree wasn't business related.

So what did they mean that the purpose of her visit is not consistent?

Why will they assume she will not come back after studies when we have both family and economic home ties - our 3 kids are here, our businesses are here and were well declared, official valuation reports of our factory, landed properties and survey plans, cars and also every other of our relatives and relations are all here in Nigeria.

Seriously I have been thinking of this refusal since yesterday night I am not understanding it, and they didn't say anything about insufficient funds ooh.

I have a question, my cousin got a passport request early this month but she has been spending from her proof of funds, can the application still be denied after they have requested for her passport. The passport has been with them for over 2 weeks now? Other applications i knw doesn’t take up to 2 weeks bfr they returned the passport.

Well, spouses and siblings are not the same. But did she tell them whose account she is logging into?

They only ask her howmuch she is bringing into the country, then she login into the app and showed them. Also she still have my printed bank statement but she didn’t gv them that one. I think this people only want to know you have enough funds to take care of your self. So you won’t abandon your studies for work.

this is not done anywhere. Your brother is your sponsor does not give you access to his account. Capital NO. You can print it along with you.

I sponsored my wife’s application, I login my access bank app on her phone. That was what she use as proof of funds at POE.

Not sure about the login into his mobile app part. Carrying cash is more feasible for me. Is there a cap on the amount of cash I can carry with me?

If your brother is your sponsor, you should login his mobile app on your phone to show you have access to the money whenever you need it. You can also carry cash as POF.

Thank you so much for this brother, I really needed this. Especially those questions that Immigration may ask at the POE. Nobody has said anything about those even on Youtube videos that I watch.

I have a few questions if you don't mind.

1. How do we show proof of funds at the POE? Can I pay USD into my DOM account and show them there? Or print bank statements and bring along with me? My brother is my sponsor and I used his account for the POF for my Visa.

2. Should I open a GIC account instead and also use that as POF at POE?

How did the embassy know you moved the funds from the account? Does the gcms note say that?

It’s not possible for the v.o to know he moved some money out of his account. The reason he got denied was lack of documents to backup his lump sum of money deposited. He also has a low opening and high closing balance.

What are the documents you submitted that made them denied you? Did you gave them any proof of funds?

Yes, you can use the same account for proof of funds, but in your SOP, you must provide a breakdown to show how the fund will be sufficient for both you and your spouse.

The SOWP is after the study visa has been approved, will that breakdown still be necessary or I should use another bank account for it?

as for me, I submitted my wife's study permit, her international passport where the visa was stamped, her enrollment letter, acceptance letter, school fees receipts

What about your proof of funds?

It was suppose to be January intake, but we have to defer to September 2024. Can we use same bank account for proof of funds?

My Canada student visa was issued late, I will resume classes September 2024, can my spouse apply for Spousal open work now or she has to wait till I get to Canada before she apply?
