For me o comparing Delta with Edo state is a bullshit cus even a blindman knws that Delta State is more develop than Edo state,,have been to d 2 states and i knw what am saying,,cuz projects in delta state are been commission in the 3 region in delta state thats why delta state is not 1 city state like every other states in nigeria,,cuz any region in delta state will not watch and folds his and see all projects been taken other region while ntn is being commission in is region,,u can tell 4rm the Delsu university which have 3 campus in delta central (Abraka- main campus) Delta north (Asaba) and Delta south (oleh),,same with the state broadcasting media,, delta central (Edjeba- headquarter) Delta north (Asaba) same with state polytecnics,,Delta central=oghara, Delta South= ozoro,, Delta north= ogwashiuku,,same with stadiums,, Delta north= Asaba & ogwashiuku stadiums,,Delta south= warri and Ole stadiums,,Delta Central= Sapele, oghara & ughelli unlike Edo state that have only samuel egbemudia stadium in benin

PoliticsItalian Navy Rescue 233 Migrants From Africa At The Mediterranean Sea by Evestar200(op): 4:31pm On Jan 02, 2014
(CNN) -- More than 200 migrants
have been rescued from an
overcrowded boat at risk of
sinking in rough waters in the
Mediterranean Sea, the Italian
navy said Thursday.
The alarm was raised on the
evening of New Year's Day, when
the boat was spotted about 80
miles south of the Italian island
of Lampedusa.
The boat, which measured only
10 meters (33 feet) long, was
carrying 233 people without life
jackets, the navy statement said.
Can world prevent more
Lampedusas?
Given the rough seas and the
boat's "precarious state of
buoyancy," the decision was
made to transfer the 233 people,
seven of them women, to a navy
ship, the San Marco. All were
safely recovered, the statement
said.
The migrants, from
Eritrea, Nigeria, Somalia,
Pakistan, Zambia and
Mali, were all moved
safely, the statement
said.
After being transferred
to a frigate, the
migrants will be taken
to the port of Augusta,
on the Italian island of
Sicily, where they are
expected to arrive
Thursday evening, it
said.
How do illegal
immigrants get into EU?
Meanwhile, the Greek
coast guard has
rescued 85 migrants --
including 15 children
and 20 women -- after
their boat got into
trouble in stormy weather in the
southeastern Aegean Sea.
They were taken to a port on the
Aegean island of Astypalea,
where they arrived Thursday, the
coast guard said. They are being
given medical help, food and
other emergency supplies, the
coast guard said.
Greece's semiofficial Macedonian
News Agency reported that the
migrants are Syrians and
Afghans, but the coast guard has
not yet confirmed their
nationality.
Sea of death
As the closest Italian island to
Africa, Lampedusa is a frequent
destination for refugees seeking
to enter European Union
countries, and shipwrecks off its
shores are common.
Many of the migrants are from
African nations, while others
have fled war-torn Syria.
More than 300 African migrants
died in October after their ship
sank off the island's shores. Days
later, another 34 people died
when their boat capsized.
Tens of thousands of people are
rescued each year from the
Mediterranean, according to the
European Union border agency,
Frontex.
Smugglers often pack migrants
into unseaworthy, ill-equipped
and overcrowded boats, adding
to the dangers of the journey.
Between January and September
of last year, 31,000 migrants are
believed to have entered the
European Union illegally by
crossing the Mediterranean to
land on Italian soil or the island
of Malta, Frontex said.

omar22: You need one stadium over 70k for the final and 2 stadiums over 60k that will host the opening games, semifinals and 3rd place games! The smallest stadium used in world cup final in th last 30 years was the Stadio Olympico (Italia 90) which was 73k Nigeria will have to build bigger stadiums to host the world cup
Nigeria dont need to build bigger stadium,,they just need to increase the capacity of the existing ones to 75-90 capacity.

onuwaje: Well.... I'd say that nobody is perfect.. So let me categorically list the good bad and ugly of E. Uduaghan

The good
1.Transport services
For those of us living in the state we can attest to that.. We can travel within our neighbour hood and to places within the state as low as half the normal prices we would have been charged (I stand to be corrected)

2. Health care
The ante-natal for pregnant women I can attest to that cos my sister is a recipient

3.Education
For me I have benefitted from delta state govt through the busary and I'm sure other deltans can confirm this also for the second sch I think(correction needed) registration for waec if free for students

4. Urban Primacy
For those of us who don't understand what 'urban primacy' is... Well simply put.. Delta state is not a 'one city' state unlike other state.. And if u go to those cities I.e sapele warri ughelli etc u shud see that they are fast turning into urban centres

The Bad and the Ugly
1.Security
Judging from the kidnappings and high rate of armed robbery I can say that the government needs to improve on this

2.Roads
Well mr Uduaghan.. We need roads.. The available ones cannot accomodate the high influx/movement of cars in places like warri most especially.. Although there re on-going construction in some parts of town.. The pace at which the contractors handle it is at snail speed. Other one lane roads need to be dualised...

Thanks OP for bringing out a topic..
i think uduaghan is try about the security aspect,,u cant compare delta state of today with delta state of 2011,, we all knw what happen in delta state in terms of insecurity in 2011

PapaBrowne: To be fair to Uduaghan, he seems to have woken up in his second tenure.
But if anything, that project you've pasted the picture up there is one of the most insane projects ever. Its as nonsensical as it gets! A waste of scarce resources. A conduit pipe for siphoning state resources.
his lost sense came back early last year
