suremanpatriot: some of our ppl in govt no dey study intl events themself o. WHO had said tht covid doesnt fly in the air...why are black ppl lik this.Trump doesnt wear mask, pmb doesnt wear mask and even ya health minister removes the mask while talkin. Dont harrass citizens for lack of proper information. : mr govr refer to WHO publications and dont use fear to tyranically lead your ppl in crisis and destroy things,at best copy Lagos govt
https://www.who.int/news-room/q-a-detail/q-a-coronaviruses Only wear a mask if you are ill with COVID-19 symptoms (especially coughing) or looking after someone who may have COVID-19. Disposable face mask can only be used once. If you are not ill or looking after someone who is ill then you are wasting a mask. There is a world-wide shortage of masks, so WHO urges people to use masks wisely.
WHO advises rational use of medical masks to avoid unnecessary wastage of precious resources and mis-use of masks (see Advice on the use of masks).
The most effective ways to protect yourself and others against COVID-19 are to frequently clean your hands, cover your cough with the bend of elbow or tissue and maintain a distance of at least 1 meter (3 feet) from people who are coughing or sneezing. See basic protective measures against the new coronavirus for more information. It seems you are a little behind on the guidelines on wearing of face mask. Covid-19 is new and information on it keep changing. It's now said to be transmitted through talking and breathing, in addition to droplets. The American CDC is now recommending the wearing of face masks when outside by everyone. Turkey ordered everyone to wear face mask when outside. |

Plead: Let’s just assume for a moment that Buhari was the one who gave this order, what would umahi and the igbos say? So what are you and your tribe saying about it, tribalist? By the way, the US CDC have just recommended that Americans wear face mask when outside. And Turkey just ordered (not recommended) the wearing of face mask when outside by everyone. Get informed and ease up on your crude tribalism. |

dmltoyin: I personally think this is a total was of time. Is it medically proven that the material used in making the mask can shield the virus. There a specific materials and design in which this medical masks are being made to shield the virus and properly protect and cover the mouth and nose. Sharing this mask to the public with a guarantee of safety might have a negative effect. Unless that fabric is medically proven to shield the virus, this is a total waste of time and material.
Even the gov sef, the mask he is putting on isn't covering his nose well. Nawa The face mask that people are putting on (from China) also does not really prevent virus from getting through. But it can block droplets from cough or sneeze. Same with the mask being made in Calabar. So it's not a waste of time as you think. It's only the N95 mask that can prevent airborne viruses from getting through. |
Politics › Re: Ben Ayade Watches As Lady Sews Face Mask In Garment Factory In Calabar by executive12: 10:04pm On Apr 03, 2020 |
That's commendable. Other Governors should take a cue and flood the market with adequate face masks in order to force down the price. I don't see why we should be importing cheap face masks from China. |

ddippset: It is very easy to criticise.
Nigeria has to be the most complex country in the world.
Nigerians have got to be the most complicated and impatient people in the world.
It will take another 50 years at least, for this country to be fixed to a reasonable level.
And finally, the next 10 presidents of Nigeria will be equally and adequately insulted and criticised. How's Nigeria the most complex country in the world? It's actually the other way around. We have been getting very useless Nigerians as Presidents, with Buhari clearly qualifying as the worst so far. In this fight against covid-19, compare Buhari to other world leaders who have been showing leadership, while Buhari is missing in action. |

I trust my Igbo billionaires, they didn't donate 1 kobo. Why should I donate my money for Yoloba and Fulani government to eat in the name of coronavirus? The people that donated so far are mostly those that have directly or indirectly been involved in looting the national treasury. They are just giving back a little of what they have stolen. |
