Officers of the Nigerian army have revealed that the wife of a Boko Haram kingpin who was arrested during a raid on the terrorists’ camp in Borno state is giving out valuable information to them. Colonel Tukur Gusau, spokesman of the 7 Division of the Nigeria Army, made this disclosure via a statement issued recently, in which he said that the arrest was made during operations in Kukawa and Nganzai local government areas of Borno state.

Leadership reports that troops of the 115 Task Force Battalion under 7 Brigade Multinational Joint Task Force (MNJTF) during a patrol and raid on the Boko Haram terrorists’ hideout, arrested a woman presumed to be wife of the Boko Haram leader. The woman was caught with four children she had with the unnamed Boko Haram kingpin, after he took to his heels following a gun battle with soldiers.

The EFCC today Tuesday arraigned Gabriel Suswam, former Governor of Benue State in court over a nine-count charge largely bordering on money laundering to the tune of N3.1 billion at the Federal High Court Abuja.

Suswan who was governor of Benue State from 2007 to 2015 was arraigned alongside his commissioner for finance, Omadaki Oklobia charges which bordered on Section 15(2, 3) of the Money Laundering Act (2011). He was escorted into the court premises by officials of the anti-graft agency.

The former Governor and the Commissioner pleaded not guilty to the charges and their counsel, Ahmed Raji, asked the court to grant them bail on self recognition.

But Rotimi Jacobs, the prosecution counsel who was not opposed to the bail said it should not be on self recognition since a former Governor has jumped bail in the past. Consequently, Justice A. R Mohammed granted bail to the two accused on provision of a N100 million bond, two sureties who must be senior civil servants of level 12 and above, or any person occupying a national office.

The accused, the Judge ruled will remain in the custody of the EFCC until they perfected their bail conditions.

Suswam and Okolobia were alleged to have diverted the proceeds of the sale of shares owned by the Benue State government and Benue Investment and Property Company Ltd. EFCC had on October grilled the former governor and his former finance commissioner over the allegations.

This Biafra protest is fast becoming something of concern in Nigeria. Pro-Biafrians are currently protesting along Aba road in Port Harcourt, Rivers state. Meanwhile Imo state governor, Rochas Okorochas has called for an emergency meeting of South East leaders to deliberate on the recent agitations by some youths for the creation of Biafra.

The meeting is expected to take place at Owerri, Imo State capital this weekend.

Former National Security Adviser, Sambo Dasuki who is standing trial over allegations of money laundering and illegal arms possession, yesterday dragged the Federal government before an Abuja high court, saying that his life is in danger. FG has since November 3rd placed the former security chief under house arrest despite a Federal High court ruling instructing the government to hand Dasuki his international passport so he can proceed on a three weeks medical leave.

Dasuki, in a fundamental right enforcement application he filed against the Federal Government yesterday, asked the court to uphold his rights to dignity and security of life. He appealed to the court to issue a mandatory order compelling the Federal Government and its agents, especially the operatives of the DSS, to vacate his house located at 13, John Kadija Street, Asokoro with immediate effect.

A Russian-built cargo plane with passengers on board crashed on Wednesday after taking off from the airport in South Sudan's capital, killing dozens of people, witnesses said.

An official said three people on board survived.

The precise death toll was not immediately clear after the Antonov-12 B plane turbo prop plane crashed soon after take off, leaving chunks of wreckage, bodies and cargo strewn along a bank of the White Nile River.

The Civil Aviation Authority said the number of dead was still being counted.

A Reuters witness saw 41 bodies, some of which were covered by cloth. A police officer, who did not give his name because he was not authorized to speak to the media, also put the death toll at 41. Another witness counted at least 32 killed.

Presidential spokesman Ateny Wek Ateny told Reuters the plane was carrying 18 people, including the six foreign crew, according to official documents. He said 15 of them died and three South Sudanese nationals survived, including a child.

"This is the number given to us by the (control) tower," he told Reuters in reference to those on board. Asked about figures suggesting a higher toll, he said it could be people killed on the ground but said he had no indication about any such deaths.

Officials said the plane belonged to freight and logistics firm Allied Services Ltd. Officials at the company could not immediately be reached for comment.

“We have rushed to the site of crash which is located near the airport, southeast of Juba International Airport (across) the river," said the chief executive of the Civil Aviation Authority at Juba airport, Stephen Warikozi.

"We have secured the site of crash and also we are in the stage of recovering bodies and black box," he said. "We are still now recovering the dead bodies and we cannot give you the exact number."

The plane, registration number EY406, had been on its way to Paloch, in the north of South Sudan, Warikozi said. The presidential spokesman said the six crew were comprised of five Armenians and one Russian. He said all the others on the flight were South Sudanese.

There was mild drama on the streets of Benin city, the Edo state capital as hundreds of local government pensioners protested the non-payment of their pension arrears owed by the state government.

This did not go down well with Mr Timothy Uwagboe, the secretary, Local Government Pensioners Association, Edo State chapter, who told journalists at the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) secretariat, Benin, that the claim made by the governor’s aide, showed his ignorance of the law that established State Local Government Staff Pension Board in each of the 36 states of the federation as contained in Decree No. 20 of 1985.

An utterly surprised Uwagboe accused Afegbua of being one of the people misleading Governor Oshiomhole, as he explained further that Section 210 of the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, as amended, specifically mandated state governments to take charge in the state, while Section 173 of the same Constitution relates to Federal Government.

According to him: “When was the law that establish State Local Government Staff Pension Boards repealed, amended or expunged from the law of the federal? Who controls the Local Government Councils and collects their allocation from the federation account monthly?”

The pensioners’ secretary also affirmed that the the state’s executive council is in charge of every parastatal in the state, which he believes that the local government staff pension board is part of.

“We therefore need to state as follows: that the law establishing the Pension Board, provides that the federal, state and local government should jointly fund the Local Government Staff Pension Board.

An aircraft belonging to the Nigerian Air Force crashed in Yola, Adamawa state yesterday, killing all on board. The identities of those on board have not been disclosed yet.

In a statement issued last night, the spokesperson for the Air force, Air Commodore Dele Alonge, confirmed the accident, stating that the crash occurred at about 4:23pm and that it occurred due to bad weather. For more, visit www.exlinklodge.com

He said the F7-Ni fighter jet, with registration number, NAF801, was “returning to base from a mission when it crashed around Hong, in Hong Local Government Area of Adamawa State. He said: “There was no survival as the pilot of the aircraft lost his life in the unfortunate incident.”

The details of the crash and number of dear or injured was not immediately known at the time of publication.

Super Eagles gaffer Sunday has given his thoughts on the sudden retirement of Vincent Enyeama and the embarrassing defeat to Congo in an international friendly. The coach says Enyeama’s claims over their now infamous row is a lie. According to Oliseh, Enyeama committed character assassination. He also dennied claims that security operatives threw Enyeama out of the team hotel while also adding that he never insulted the former skipper’s mother.

Africanfootball.com quotes him saying: “There is a level to how far you can go in character assassination by Enyeama. This is unheard of.” He also revealed how he spoke to Enyeama after he was appointed national team coach. “I took him to lunch and shared my coaching philosophy with him. He was talking about retirement from the national team), which I didn’t like.”

The coach highlighted how Enyeama had problems in 2008 with Berti Vogts as well as when Samson Siasia during their times at the helm. I weep for those Nigerians who stay at every bus stop/vendor shop to shout on top of their head on how Nigeria is truly destined for change and how the emergence of Gen. Buhari is the hand of God. I must say I nearly fell a victim of this stupidity but at a time i got a hold on myself.

People say fighting Bukola Saraki is not a witch-hunt but i will have to ask, what can we call it? Since Timipri Sylva's case was withdrawn from court and was also gifted the ticket to become governor of Bayelsa state, what can we call that? If you don't know, lets do the math.

I don't want to go into other stuffs that you and i know but this is glaring. Witch-hunting is not about hunting the innocent or the guilty, no no no, it is about hunting the "not loyal" people in the party or whatever. Believe me, every politician should be found guilty on 1 or 2 cases if Nigeria legal system mean business. I said every politician in Nigeria. Everybody. This is the truth.

The police have sought a Nigerian to facilitate investigations into a hit-and-run crash in Jalan Klebang Kechil Sunday night, which left a teenager dead and another in a coma. Motorcyclist Muhammad Khairul Fiqri Johari, 14, died at the Melaka Hospital while pillion rider, Muhammad Shafiq Arshad, also 14, has been warded at the hospital’s intensive care unit.

Melaka Tengah police chief ACP Shaikh Abdul Adzis Shaikh Abdullah said the 30-year-old foreigner, believed to be a student at a local university fled the scene after the car he was driving rammed the motorcycle at 11.45pm. He said the Nigerian’s 30-year-old compatriot and a 51-year-old local girlfriend were also in the car when it collided head-on with the motorcycle.

Secretary to Cross River State Government, Mrs Martina Agbor, was yesterday held hostage by street sweepers and gardeners at the Calabar Urban Development Authority, CUDA, when she went there to take inventory of the Authority’s vehicles.

According to Vanguard, Mrs Agbor who had a scheduled meeting with the Executive Secretary, Mr. Joemary Ekeng Ita, arrived the sanitation office located on Ibrahim Babangida Way in the state capital, to get details of the capacity of the authority to clean up the state capital which was filled with trash.

On seeing Mrs Agbor, about 500 workers in the agency mobilised and waited patiently while she was shown round the premises. After the inspection, as she was about to leave, the angry workers who allegedly had not been paid their N5,000 allowances for seven months, surrounded her and demanded their unpaid allowances before she would be allowed to leave the premises.

She was held up in her car until a detachment of the Police came to take her out of the premises.
Reacting on the incident, the SSG said the government was not owing the workers, rather it was the contractors handling the evacuation of refuse in the state capital that owed them.

Jennifer Onyebuchi was arrested on September 30th for allegedly stealing a nine-month-old baby in the Ajegunle, Lagos and taking him to Okija, Anambra State.


It was gathered that Onyebuchi, who is from Anambra state, had befriended the baby’s mother, Aina Adetola, for about two weeks before she reportedly stole the infant.

An eye witness who identified himself as Uche said:

“It was on Saturday, September 26. We were all shocked that Jennifer (Onyebuchi) escaped with the nine-month-old baby. She had met the victim’s mother for just two weeks before she carried out the act. “They were both shop owners in the area. On that day, Jennifer took the baby from his mother when he was crying and said she was going to buy him a bottle of soft drink from a nearby shop.

“When the mother waited for them to return, but did not see them, she raised the alarm. The matter was thereafter reported at the Ajegunle Police Division. Nobody suspected that Jennifer had a devilish motive. It turned out that the woman took the baby to a bus station and travelled on the same day to Okija, Anambra State.”

According to Punch Metro, after they realised what had happened, they reported the matter to police operatives from Lagos, who went after the suspect. It was gathered that after four days of hiding, Onyebuchi was arrested in Okija, while the baby was also rescued by the police.
Adetola, who is the baby's mother said that her husband sent her packing from their house, when he discovered that she had given their baby to a stranger.

It is no news again how the notorious land-grabbing gang in Lagos, Omo Onile is trying to claim ownership of Millennium Housing Estate in Akowonjo area of Egbeda. The housing estate that was sold to civil servants during Bola Tinubu’s administration is now being claimed by the Omo Oniles who warned flat owners to vacate within one month or face eviction.

Residents told police that the gang came around 12 noon on October 1st with weapons claiming to be the owners of the land used to build the estate. They even claimed they have the support of the government to eject residents. They claimed Tinubu told them it is no longer his business when they approached him.

According to fashion expert and author of The Bra Book, Jené Luciani, if your bra is causing you pain in any sort of way, then it definitely doesn’t fit right. The straps shouldn’t dig into your shoulders or fall down, although this may just be an adjustment problem, she notes. Check for red marks and indentations on your body after you take it off as well. “The underwire should be flush against your ribcage beneath your breasts,” explains Luciani. “If it isn’t touching your ribcage, this doesn’t mean you necessarily need a bigger band. More than likely, you just need bigger cups.”

4) The band of your bra rides up
A band that rides up your back is a big, big red flag! Surprisingly, a lot of smaller-framed women tend to have this problem because (often due to a lack of options) they buy bras with bands that are too large for their petite figures.

TV personality Ebuka Obi-Uchendu and his fiancée Cynthia Obianodo, held their traditional wedding ceremony today being October 3, 2015.

The couple who got engaged sometime in April 2015, had their wedding ceremony at the bride's hometown, Umueze Neni in Anambra state. The ceremony was well attended by celebrities including top designer - Mai Atafo, Noble Igwe, Olamide Adedeji and Cool FM OAP Dotun Kayode.
