"Actress, singer, producer, Humanitarian, Director and Entrepreneur. These are the words she describes herself with. Funny, Beautiful, daring, big dreamer & warm are the some of the words I'll describe her with. Her fundraising work especially for children with health challenges made me Notice this beautiful Ghanaian actress. One can hear the hope in her voice as she recounts some of the success stories of the Juliet Ibrahim Foundation as well as the grave sadness when the battle to save a child's life is lost. - See more pics at: http://www.exlinklodge.com/2015/09/juliet-ibrahim-stuns-on-bmpro-mag-cover.html#sthash.EIntHrni.dpuf cc lalasticlala

According to various media reports, Nigerian telecoms operators have been ordered by Nigeria’s president, Muhammadu Buhari, to deactivate 37.79 million mobile phone lines as part of a move to eradicate the Boko Haram insurgency within three months. IT News Africa reports that the move is designed to hit at the terrorist group, which uses mobile phones to co-ordinate a lot of mass atrocities. Another report by TechForge reveals that four of the biggest mobile operators in the country, MTN, Glo, and Etisalat, all deactivated mobile lines that were unregistered, or improperly registered subscriber information since 7 September. The NCC had previously instructed the telecoms companies to deactivate all the unregistered SIMs or face a hefty fine. - See more at: http://www.exlinklodge.com/2015/09/boko-haram-37-million-phone-lines-to-be.html#sthash.COWaMJ7k.dpuf cc lalasticlala

Residents of Santiago, Chilean capital fled their homes on Wednesday, September 16, after a massive earthquake shook the foundation of their buildings. According to BBC, the earthquake occurred off the coast, about 144 miles (232km) north-west of the capital at about 19:54 local times (22:54 GMT). Officials warn that tsunami waves might follow the 8.3-magnitude quake. No casualties were ascertained as at press time, but evacuation was ordered in the coastal areas of the capital. Reports say Tsunami sirens were heard in the port of Valparaiso. "Tsunami waves reaching more than three metres above the tide level are possible along some coasts of Chile," the Pacific Tsunami Warning Center later warned. It also also issued a tsunami watch for Hawaii. - See more at: http://www.exlinklodge.com/2015/09/breaking-news-powerful-earthquake-hit.html#sthash.D3yvWHYa.dpuf lalasticlala

The Chief Imam of the University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN) Central Mosque, Sheik Adam Idoko, has been kidnapped by gunmen. Idoko, who is also the deputy secretary-general of the Nigerian Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (NSCIA) was kidnapped five days ago. He was reportedly whisked away from his hometown, Ogrute Enugu-Ezike in Igbo-Eze North Council Area of Enugu State, where he was attending a meeting. Already, the kidnappers, according to a source close to the mosque, have placed a N20million ransom tag on the chief Imam. The source, who would not want his name in print, however, stated that such amount couldn’t be raised because the mosque does not have it. He said: “We don’t have that kind of money. They should remember that Sheik Idoko is not a politician or a business tycoon. He is working for God.” “Till now, I am still surprised why the Imam, who devoted himself to the work of God should be a target for kidnap. If the UNN central mosque has that kind of money, we would have finished the mosque we started building for the past four years.” Musa Mohammed, a Muslim faithful, described the N20million ransom demanded by the kidnappers as unfortunate and outrageous. He appealed to the kidnappers to release him unconditionally because he works for God. Also, Usman Bello, another faithful, urged the kidnappers to respect Allah and set the cleric free, adding: “It is a serious abomination to manhandle those who are doing the work of Allah. We have been praying to Allah to touch their minds so that they will release him unconditionally. We do not know anywhere to get N20m for ransom.” When contacted, the spokesman of the Enugu State Police command, DSP Ebere Amaraizu, said the command was working hard to secure the chief Imam’s release and arrest those behind the act. - See more at: http://www.exlinklodge.com/2015/09/unns-chief-imam-sheik-idoko-kidnapped.html#sthash.DUyz49os.dpuf cc lalasticlala ishilove seun

The Wife of the President, Mrs Aisha Buhari, has urged government at all levels to enforce the law on rape, to protect women and children in the country. Aisha stated this when she received some staff of the Ministry of Women Affairs, UNICEF and National Population Commission, led by the Permanent Secretary of the ministry, Dr Ezekiel Oyemomi. The staff came to brief her on the plan to launch an action to end violence against children, slated for Sept. 15. "We are aware of the national law on rape passed this year on May 25 (Prohibition Act 2015) which states imprisonment ranging from 12 to 20 years. More News On http://www.exlinklodge.com "I advocate for the enforcement of this law at all levels. Unfortunately, children are the most vulnerable, being exploited at different stages of their lives,’’ she stressed. Aisha said it had become necessary for government and international organisations to pursue policies and laws to protect women and children against the act. "A number of cases on violence against women and children are being reported on daily basis with the most alarming one of those happening in higher institutions of leaning. "These include sexual harassment and assaults of female students by lecturers as a result of lack of laws and appropriate actions against the perpetrators,’’ Aisha lamented. She said the issue of the violence against children was dear to her heart and would do every possible to salvage the disadvantage situation of children and other vulnerable groups in the society. "It is my hope that with this renewed commitment by agencies, necessary steps will be taken to end violence against women and children particularly where this is rampant.’’ She wanted the domestication of the law to end the act in Nigeria and Africa in general. Briefing the president’s wife on the plan, Oyemomi said Nigeria had conducted the survey in collaboration with UNICEF, National Population Commission and Centre for Development of Disease Control and Prevention through the National Planning Commission. - See complete story and more at: http://www.exlinklodge.com/2015/09/presidents-wife-aisha-buhari-advocats.html#sthash.heD3Cckb.dpuf cc lalasticlala seun

Salongo Kawuki Bwogere abandoned his wife, 35-year-old Faridah Nantumbwe and his children after she gave birth to the fourth albino child two years ago. Her told his wife that in their clan they did not produce albinos, whom he described as a curse. He also barred his wife from cultivating on their land. Nantumbwe, now resident in Mugongo, Uganda said she used to live with her husband at Kirume village Gombolola Kasambya in Mubende district where they had their children. She narrated that after they had the fourth child her husband chased her and vowed to kill her and the children. "Although he decided to chase me away, Bwogere never provided me with transport. He just told me to find my way out of his house. As a non-stipendiary, I had to appeal to people of good heart to bail me out of my burden of giving birth to albinos. However, through thick and thin I managed to get enough money for transport to take me to my home at Mugongo where I now live with my children," Despite her ordeal, Nantumbwe has vowed not to abandon her children like her husband did. She is currently seeking financial and any other assistance from people of good will, to raise her children. "After all they are human beings like other children who are not albinos". Faridah gave birth to her first child, Ivan Ssewagudde at the age of 20. She said she was shocked to see that she had given birth to a 'white' child and so was her husband, little did she know what lay ahead. - See more at: http://www.exlinklodge.com/2015/09/man-chases-away-his-4-albino-children.html#sthash.SS45winu.dpuf cc lalasticlala

Barcelona star or should say football legend to name but a few titles, Lionel Messi and girlfriend, Antonella Roccuzzo, have welcomed another child to the world about three years after the birth of their first son. This follows reports of the birth of Mateo, Messi’s second son on Friday, September 11. According to the reports, Messi missed training on Friday to attend the birth of his son, but will be available for Barcelona’s meeting with Atletico Madrid. The Barcelona star’s brother, Matias Messi, confirmed the news on Twitter. Barcelona head coach Luis Enrique also told reporters on Friday: “Messi is available although he didn’t train. “He is on the list. The club gave him permission not to train today for personal reasons.” This elating development comes just months after Antonella Roccuzzo was admitted at Hospital Espanol in Messi’s native city of Rosario, Efe following an infection. Popular Nollywood Afrobeat musician, Femi Kuti is now speaking to The Nation about his marriage to his ex-wife, Funke, and disclosing why he married her despite his disbelief in marriage. Femi said: I never believed in marriage. I loved my wife, and got carried away. I am happy about the experience. We got married for a number of reasons; she left home, and many people said she had made the greatest mistake of her life; she got pregnant; and for us to have a certain status for our child; documentation and so on. There were so many reasons to get married. Now we are great friends, but probably if we had not gotten married, we probably would have still been together. When you get married, if it breaks up, you get into a very bitter street, that makes it is very difficult for people to make up afterwards. Everything goes bitter around you, and hatred comes in. And when hatred comes, you find that many couples can no longer stand each other. - See more at: http://www.exlinklodge.com/2015/09/i-love-my-ex-wife-funke-but-i-wish-i.html#sthash.Y5XEVS3Y.dpuf cc lalasticlala

Recall the ordeal that happened to Oluchi Anekwe a 300 level student of University of Lagos earlier this week who was electrocuted to death outside her hostel. Owing to the government not taken any responsibility, students started protesting and this led to the closure of all university activities. Award winning actress Omotola feels the federal and state governments should have released a statement on the issue . My arguement, whats wrong with NLC and black race in general? Why do they allow themselves to be used anyhow? I dont even understand the protest. Against who? FG? or what? Buhari and APC maybe wrong choice for governance but this NLC should be asked who put them up to this nonsense. |
