As a man who does studied the development of things and one who can view the future, I will advise all my brothers from the SW to see the developmental strides of the SE as an opportunity for the SW region to the re-invent itself.
A growth in the SE will leave a vacuum in the SW but if the youths are smart enough, we can just fill the vacuum. Its gonna be tough as most of us from SW regions are notorious for keeping a larger life than we can maintain. If we can take the opportunity, we will use the templates they have proved effective use of and succeed therein.
Its an eye-opener for us all!

Formulating the national budget is the duty of the budget office but once it becomes an appropriation act, it is the duty of the finance ministry to source for the needed funds and release the funds to MDA'S based on the budget. The finance minister signs the warrant and orders the Accountant General to do the cash backing and not the budget office. So far so good, I don't think she has failed in doing the above.

Secondly, agreed it is the duty of the finance minister to come up with fiscal policies for the country, but again, what exactly is fiscal policy? Fiscal policy is the policy that guides the administration of taxes and revenue generation in the country. Simply put, fiscal policies are geared towards raising the needed funds to carry out government projects and also as a tool for correcting social imbalance. So far so good, she has done well in this area. For the first time in Nigeria, a budget of N6trillion was proposed in a period of serious shortage in oil revenue. We have a proposal whereby taxes and internally generated revenue will fund over 50% of the budget. If that is not a success in fiscal policy formulation, I don't know what it is. You may argue that the budget is yet to be implemented, but the fact is, she has set a big target for herself. Why not let's give her a chance to implement this budget before we crucify her.

Bringing in the tribal narrative is inevitable. The narrative from her haters is that the south west is trying to create their own NOI so therefore, the wailers from the south east must bring her down at all cost even when she's done nothing wrong.

Then, I remembered that out of the six states in the South-West, only one has not gone to the Capital Market to take money through bond issuance. What has that told me? It means that my South-West is indebted to South East’s Anambra State — and that is serious. I know some partisan fellows will say ‘and so what?’ They can say so because for such fellows, the only reference they make to the past is using it to cover up the eczema of today. None of the founding fathers of Western Nigeria would ever imagine that a day would come when Yorubaland would owe Iboland.

Some international financial experts have warned that the current craze for bonds by African countries, including PDP’s Nigeria, will soon lead to what they call “Eurobond curse” just as the continent is wracked by “resource curse.” Some queer commentators would say the warning was directed at national governments. At the state level, the alarm bell should really sound louder. A recent report quoted Joseph Stightz, a Nobel prize-winning economist, as warning that “the financial sector loves to find people to prey on and their most recent prey are governments in developing countries.” The same is happening at the domestic level. Cash-strapped state governments should know that there are no friendly financial institutions. They are in business to make money and it does not matter how.
I do not know what economics is behind the current craze for bonds. Some are even saying bonds are no loans. What are they? Gifts? Won’t they pay back? And at what interest rate? They would even pay costs of the transaction — they call it ‘issue costs?’ Are there consultants packaging these bonds? If there are, who are they? What are their fees?

Yorubaland currently suffers unprecedented, unfortunate and insulting, venal shut-out in the affairs of the PDP Federal Government. The alternative regimes in the states ought to give reasons for hope, not debt over-hang. Nothing should be done by anyone to bond the race to a future of criminal servitude. Governments have to provide amenities, yes. But have we forgotten what our ancestors said about he that eats benefits derivable from a child even before that child is born? Exactly what Niyi Osundare described as “eating tomorrow’s yam today ”!
Western Nigeria started solid in the 1950s through the early 60s. Chief Obafemi Awolowo and his stellar team gave the West a solid foundation. They made their people first in Africa without hanging ‘slavery bond’ on their collective neck. But after them, what have we had? Public debt, private wealth! Whatever intervening disaster can still be remedied if only we resolve today to make the future more golden than the great start. We cannot do that by mortgaging the future to bonds of bondage

Abia is building the largest market/mall in africa. New roads, rebuilding the whole of Aba. Where's the oil crisis?
do I need to tell you about Enugu? Every state in Nigeria announced a 'new city' at one point, only the Enugu Centenary City is moving and selling homes today. Why? Where's the oil crisis?

Niger Delta Leaders are the problem of this our region.
-look at bayelsa, a state with just 8 local govt. Has been receiving up to over 6billion naira monthly as allocation, what have their governor done with it?
- another factor is the "OUR OIL" lazy mentality that have caged many ND youths.
- Niger Delta have been used and about to be dumbed, anyone waiting for FG to clean up enviromental pollution in his/her area is living in delusion.
Clean Water is like a costly asset to many Bayelsa communities that I visited.. We got to a place that Cold pure water is #30 while warm one is #20.
- I am happy that my Delta North(Anioma) shifted our attention to Education and Human capital.
Our land is not polluted, We don't have time for OUR OIL Nonsense!

With the current falling of oil prices in the international market, Nigeria has being at the receiving end viewed from the angle of our current economic woes.
The oil price in the international market if falling freely in-line with our precious Naira, Everybody is now talking about diversification of our economy away from an oil dependent economy. Some states has started diversifying by tapping into the resources around them, while some are still waiting for the oil prices to skyrocket again.

Now the big question is "What's in stock for our dear Niger-delta region". The delta region is the region where most of our oil resources comes from, thus leading to unprecedented exploitation, devastation and degradation of the region's environment. While other regions has enjoyed the benefits of the oil revenues from the region, it has wallowed in misery.
Before the discovery of oil in the delta region, its was well known by its incredible well-endowed ecosystem which contains one of the highest concentration of biodiversity in Africa.It has a well arable terrain that can sustain a wide variety of crops, agricultural tress(once known as oil rivers for its major production of Palm oil), and many species of fresh water fish, But the discovery of oil in the region has caused more harm than any good. With oil spills occurring in the land and water of the delta region daily, the region has being rendered almost agricultural ineffective. While other regions are gradually moving away from being heavily dependent on oil proceeds, What then is in stock for our dear delta regions or probably what does it have in stock for itself ?
