Car Talk › Re: Beware Of Catalyst Stealing Mechanics, Welders And Car Dealers!!!! by Eyop: 9:19pm On Nov 19, 2013
specco: I am posting this with a heavy heart. I just came back from my mechanic where after inspection it was confirmed that the 'catalytic' in my exhaust pipe has been removed! Just acquired this toyota car some days back from a car dealer somewhere in Maryland area of Lagos and had been wondering at the rate at which it guzzles fuel, even much more than the old mercedes I used to have. Then off to the mechanic I went this afternoon only to be told the bitter truth(catalytic converter stolen) and to replace it will deplete my account by N18,000. This is very sad indeed.
So sorry about that Specco. Did you notice any sign of this immediately you purchased the car? Because if you did, then it must have been removed before you bought the car.

And most times when going to buy a Tokunbo car,if you notice the Check engine light on it you better run or/and after starting the car and you notice that the exhaust sound is louder, there's a possibility that the akara or indomie is no longer there. Car dealers in nija will never allow you diagnose the car or allow you loose the exhaust before payment.

Brother you are making me loose interest in GTbank. My main purpose wanting to go there is because of the comments made about their domiciliary account being the best. So does it mean it isn't so?
hopefullman: Gtb have a lot of of customers because of their zero balance then.but now people are much more wiser.their customer service is so poor that u will curse the day you opened an account with them.imagine their staff telling customers to go to hell.the zero balance is still keeping a lot of people in gtb but for me,its time to move on.

My brother i never knew that it is possible to open up a dormicilary account with GTb without opening up any other Naira account. I have a corporate account with Zenith bank and the reason why am going to GTB is because of their Dollar account for my international transactions and nothing more but i got their corporate account opening form together with the Dormicilary account opening form to enable me setup that.

How is it possible to own only a domiciliary account with GTbank without opening up a personal account or corporate account?
Business › Re: Is Gtbank Really The Best Bank In Nigeria by Eyop: 7:46pm On Nov 18, 2013
what type of transaction will you do that they will charge you #10,000. For #1million transaction be rest assured that the COT will be between #3000 to #3,200. Atimes the way you guys do paint situations black without any form of consideration makes me wonder.
Aarenaija: They were my best bank till last year when the began to deduct my money anyhow.
God hepl you you do a transaction up to million in a month, be sure a 10,000 naira
can go from your acct. for that month.

Largely they are only basking in their old glory.
Business › Re: Is Gtbank Really The Best Bank In Nigeria by Eyop: 5:50pm On Nov 18, 2013
You should complain about the delays via internet banking and NOT the token because the token is a security device.
onegig: Interbank transfer from Gtb internet banking platform on regular accounts to other banks is not real time and immediate and on top that they deduct cot on each transaction after you have paid 3k for token while UBA does the transfer instantly with same charges as Gtb without the purchase of any token. So tell me does that make Gtb better?
Business › Re: Is Gtbank Really The Best Bank In Nigeria by Eyop: 4:39pm On Nov 18, 2013
To me there's nothing like the best bank in Nigeria because you must consider so many things before concluding if it's right to say a particular bank is the best or not and most times it doesn't work that way. There are so many reasons why people feel GTbank is the best because they have carefully studied the weaknesses of other banks and use that as an advantage. Take for instance when opening a corporate account(LTD) with Zenith Bank, they require references that has a corporate account with them or any other bank but it must be LTD or no show but someone with a Current personal account can reference a corporate account if you go to GTbank.

And so many other factors to list but in conclusion the best option is to have several bank accounts so that incase a particular one fails, you can easily switch.

Travel › Dozens Dead In Russian Plane Crash by Eyop(op): 7:41pm On Nov 17, 2013
The plane that crashed was a Tatarstan Airlines Boeing 737

A passenger plane has crashed at an airport in the Russian city of Kazan, killing all 50 people on board, officials say.

The Boeing 737 had taken off from Moscow, and was reportedly trying to land but exploded on impact.

Russian officials told local media there were no survivors.

The plane belonged to Tatarstan Airlines, and crashed about 7:20pm local time (15:20 GMT) on Sunday, reports said.

The Emergencies Ministry said there were 44 passengers and six crew members on the flight.

There were no immediate indications of what may have led to the crash, but reports said the pilot had already tried to land twice before - and crashed on the third attempt.

The airport in Kazan - the capital of the Russian Republic of Tatarstan - has been closed since the accident.

The BBC's Daniel Sandford, in Moscow, says that although some of Russia's biggest airlines now have very good reputations, frequent crashes by smaller operators mean the country has one of the worst air safety records in the world.

what happened during the battle between Dora Akunyili and Chris Nigige? Was Ngige an APGA member during the Senetorial election? You should have one thing in mind which is the states favourite man and also remember that the broom is unique in its own way grin grin. Even the illiterates can easily identify the party with its Uniqueness(which is the broom). So anything can happen my brother.
guonno: Its unfortunate that a lot of APC members on nairaland are yorubas and hausas, those igbos on NR that are against APGA knows little about anambra b4 obi took over. Even LP and PDP will score more than APC. Anambra people will hardly vote a regional party bc they know the implication of doing so. Anambra is an apga state.
Tomorow result would read:
APGA 1st
PDP 2nd
LP 3rd
APC 4th

You guys are just here deceiving yourselves. How many Anambra villagers do have access to Nairaland with all these news about APGA,APC and PDP? The percentage of those viewing all these comments are not much and you guys are arguing for nothing. Whoever God decides will govern Anambra state will sure win tomorrow's election because it's not by the exchange of comments, advertorials, painting one party black and the other as the best but rather it's the grace of God that will sure work wonders as we are not in the minds of the people to know which candidate they are going to vote for tomorrow.
Business › Re: The Effect Of Sanusi's Exchange Policy - (Black-Market: N173 To $1) by Eyop: 8:43am On Nov 15, 2013
Post.email, Please can you throw more light on how you used the in-house BDC for the exchange. Are you trying to say using the black market guys is better than making use of the in-house BDC(with isssue of charging COT for bulk withdrawals) awaiting your response,Thanks
Nice! Pls tell more about the GTB Debit card. I took two UBA Africards but it's difficult to make bulk deposits into these cards.
Isn't GTB's daily ATM withdrawal limit of $1000 a problem? If I have to pay $20,000 to a company, that's gonna take like 20days -daily ATM withdrawal. Well, POS payment is an option. But when haggling for lower price with manufacturers, it kinda makes it a bit difficult for them to accept when you gonna pay with a card. I know many Manufacturers like cash payments! For cash payments you get good deal compared to Letter of credit and POS payment.
Please is there any Nigerian debit card that's flexible on ATM withdrawal, with higher daily limits ?

How can one avoid these BDCs? I got really hammered dealing with the black market guys. Last month, I bought USD at 168 from these guys with enough ABEG! It really hurts to be at their mercy. Once I tried buying directly from UBA. That's so efffed up because I used the in-house BDC for the exchange. They charged COT for bulk withdrawal; and also charged bank transfer fee and FOREX fee. At the end of the day, I regretted using the bank for my FOREX needs....the abokis seem better without all the charges and fees.

Guys, any solution to this FOREX issue?
Webmasters › Re: Between Swift 4G And The New Swift 4GLTE Which Is Better? by Eyop(op): 6:54am On Nov 15, 2013
Well then it means it's favourable for your location. Mine is not fast at all and i have 4 signal bars but still not experiencing the speed. The only thing is that i was paying #10,000 on 4G router monthly for 10GB data capacity but now i have 20GB for 4GLTE but sincerely this data capacity is running very fast unlike the former one. I wish i can get other people's opinion about this.
soloqy: Its faster... two times faster than before but they are now competing with Etisalat on which network zaps up your data faster. For them and Etisalat, once you near anything that has a video or movie file extension, it seems they automatically programed it to quadruple the data calculations. Other networks will calculate your data based on the file size of the video/movie you are playing and the bandwidth but for these two, Etisalat and Swift it is one big fraudulent data calculation scam they are running.

Webmasters › Re: Between Swift 4G And The New Swift 4GLTE Which Is Better? by Eyop(op): 7:37pm On Nov 14, 2013
Well you are making a point. They made the customers to understand that this 4GLTE will be super but i must confess that it's so disappointing except for the battery in it which can only last for a while before it goes down. But i still prefer it than starcomms anyway grin grin

Webmasters › Between Swift 4G And The New Swift 4GLTE Which Is Better? by Eyop(op): 5:37pm On Nov 14, 2013
I have been pondering lately between the old swift 4G wireless router internet connection and the new 4GLTE router recently launched by swift networks which is better. I traded my former router for the new one and i don't know if i did the right thing or not.

For me the only advantage of the Swift 4GLTE over the 4G router is the battery attached to the wireless router unlike the former router that never had the battery. I also have noticed that even the allocated data capacity finishes on time unlike the former.

Swift network users, what do you have to say?

Lawyer i appreciate your job. However to add to what bfmconcepts asked,i will like to know what will happen if after paying #50,000 for the search fee and after conducting your search and it turns out negative like what happened to this man you mentioned, does it mean the #50k is gone without any achievement?

Because i am considering a situation where by after paying #50k and the 1st search turns out negative and i present another land matter to you, will it still warrant i pay another #50,000?
Business › Re: The Effect Of Sanusi's Exchange Policy - (Black-Market: N173 To $1) by Eyop: 8:45pm On Nov 13, 2013
manny4life you have analysed it all and the reason why that can't be implemented here in Nigeria is because of corruption. We have a long way to go in this country due to corruption in all sectors.
manny4life: You said a whole lot but not really saying anything, the foreign currency that the BDC's are exchanging for Naira, from what major source does it come from? The banks. If the BDC's are doing it, why can't the banks do the same and save their customers the stress and hassle of dealing with abokis? The answer is simple: for instance, if Banks bid at N155 to the $1, Aboki will buy at N157 from the banks, and sell to the public at N165 to N170 making N8 to N13 profit on each $$$. These aboki's in turn recirculate the profit back into these banks at the expense of the customers.

These are the concerns of what people are asking, why can't CBN eliminate the BDC's (aka middle men) and mandate banks to deal directly to customers? This is how it's done even here in the U.S., I walk into Bank of America, meet with an FSR or banker, discuss my FOREX needs, and in a few days, I come back deal is done. I don't have to go look for a FOREX company like Travelers to buy Euro or the Yuan when my bank can do all that for me.

SO because she's the one in charge of the kitchen, she must slap you? That's not an excuse except you don't have a say in that house meaning may be she's the one that married you and not the reverse. No matter how big or giant a woman is,she has no rite to slap the husband except she's the one feeding you and also taking full responsibility of the house.

Gee2728. I love the day time running light on cars and suvs oh. I see nothing wrong with that at all because it's a safety feature. It's most times standard in American specs.

@ Tommysparks, for where you see harmatan? which location you dey because Lagos is very hot oh.

And our beloved brand seems 2 be at the front championing this trend with all LED lamps on the new S-class. Which means one can now have his lamps on 24hrs without the thots of running down the battery.

In the North were am from one is quick 2 be referred 2 as a bush fulani( cattle heard's man) for using a torch during the day, I wonder what 2 call this new trend on cars.
