Robertbob: I advise you guys to try FCMB, they provide the best service in this regard. A day international transfer to America was very good for me the last time I transferred $9,500 to Wells Fargo Bank. The tranfer was effected by 9am and by 3pm same day my Friends Account had received the fund. The total charge was just $62.

I've also enjoyed their Mobile and internet services which are superb. Overall FCMB is Customer Centric.
I love FCMB a lot but my challenge in opening a Corporate account and domiciliary account with them is getting FCMB references for the account opening process. Immediately i have the reference i will open up the account because the bank doesn't make noise at all because they are silent achievers. I already made my enquiry about the process but delays is the reference.

eluquenson: Inter state charges have long been stopped, there is no charges of sort again, may be this your transaction occurred over 2yrs ago.
So even if it was stopped was #6000 deduction on a savings account justified?
Business › Re: Nigerian Bank With The Best Domiciliary Account System? by Eyop: 6:38pm On Nov 25, 2013
eluquenson: Then come to UBA, we value our customers & also provide a seamless transactions grin
Africa's Global Bank
UBA ke huh, except you guys have another story to tell when doing foreign exchange. I had a savings account with UBA but i stopped using it because of excess charges on it. I did a withdrawal of #445,000 on that account and was charged #6000 and when i complained to the manager,i was told it's inter state charges because the money was deposited into my account from Kaduna. Can you imagine that? If that should happen in a savings account what will then happen when doing Foreign exchange?
Autos › Re: Tariff On Imported Cars To Rise By 60% by Eyop: 6:34pm On Nov 25, 2013
What i feel the government would have done was to increase the duty and levies for older vehicles while reduce duty on newer vehicles there by encouraging the purchase of newer vehicles. Also stop the importation of salvage title(accidented, flood, etc) vehicles while they work on 24-7 power supply and ensure that the roads are OK for motorist. No stable power supply,no good roads,SON isn't working in this country so how will the manufacturing industries work?

plusfield: Fidelity bank is the best and cheapest in terms of domicillary transactions. You can verify for yourself.
What makes them the best? Just do justice to the question

femmyb: There's no where in the world where poor people buy cars? Obviously you have never step foot outsides the shores of Nigeria before to make such an ignorant statement.
Don't mind him. Even in USA,the car dealers are even encouraging the poor to come and buy cars even with bad credit.

Chlbenze: which of the banks, cos my main objective of a dom. Acct is just to receive funds
My brother go to GTB because the masses cannot be wrong. Every bank has its own flaws but that doesn't mean it should be condemned out rightly. GTB has been in this Foreign Exchange stuff for a long time now and most people i know keep praising them but apart from GTB you can also choose First Bank,Zenith and Stanbic IBTC. These are all banks with a name and will do everything to maintain standard. Forget about Fidelis Bank oh grin

sademola: Sharrraaaaaaap!!!! Those places "you have being" had the automobile plants producing adequately. My guy, do you know that importation of tokunbo cars and new ones were actually alien to Nigerians in the years past? Those were the days when we have PAn, Volks, Steyr and co eithe assembly or "manufacturing", Nigerians then dont get crazy or interested in imported cars, why? The answer is the assemblies were in production and sufficient.

If govt increases the tariff when there's no enough capacity to produce locally then I think that's sheer wickedness!!
Don't mind him,he deserves to be flogged grin

In Lagos there are so many lands that have been sand filled or do i call that swampy lands and after acquiring you end up spending so much on foundation before you commence the building. My question is what part of Lagos state(Serene environment) that one can secure a good dry land with an estimate of #8million to #10million? Your comments will be highly appreciated.

N/B: I was looking at the heart of Lagos that one can easily connect anywhere in Lagos.

Don't mind him. How much is a plot of land in Mende now? The problem about Mende is that you have to sand fill and spend much prior to building.

No matter how much the Customs duty will be,i will not buy a made in Nigeria vehicle atleast for now that there's no standard in this country. If the SON cannot handle minor cases at the port then is it car manufacturing or assembling in Nigeria that they will handle? Even advanced countries still have a challenge when manufacturing these vehicles with issues of recalls but they still find a way of resolving that one way or the other because they have a standard.

In Nigeria what will be the solution to issues of such if it arises, allowing people to go and die like chicken? I will gladly buy a 2010 Honda Accord pre-ordered from the United States even with an additional customs duty levy of #500,000 than to buy a made in or assembled car in Nigeria even some of Chinese(Joylong, jinbei, ssang yong etc) and Korean brand(Kia,hyundai, daewoo) inclusive.

In conclusion God will provide to meet up all these challenges we face by our brainless leaders.
Car Talk › Re: Beware Of Catalyst Stealing Mechanics, Welders And Car Dealers!!!! by Eyop: 7:19pm On Nov 21, 2013
specco: Yea guys, I have finally replaced the stolen catalyst and my car is now rocking. I used half as much fuel to and fro work today in the same car that used to 'drink' fuel! The fuel economy is now performing excellently. I went to Ladipo with my mechanic and got it for N15,000 and paid N4,500 for labour. There should have been no need for all these stress if people were honest and less crooked in their deeds. Nevertheless, I am happy.
But pls car gurus, the check light on my dashboard is still on. Do you think there's any more problem and what can make this light to go off?
Congratulations Specco. Yeah it will be on until you clear it off with the scanner. Just look out for any workshop that has a good scanner and have it cleared.

There are so many other cars that you can get for that amount or a little above it. You need to be precised with the brand i.e Toyota,Honda,Nissan,Peugeot etc
Autos › Re: Golf3 Auto Drive In Ph 420k With Ac sold sold sold by Eyop: 4:29pm On Nov 20, 2013
You are not ready to sell. A very clean Golf 3 that will land Lagos from Cotonou is between #500k to #550k so is yours another specification of Golf or will you call it padded Golf 3 grin grin
This is what happens when we have a weak police force. If the police had gone in as undercover customers and started arresting dealers and mechanics this malaise we die off quickly, rather they tolerate it,and participate in some cases. angry angry angry A few scape goats is all that is needed.
Like they say every day for the thief and one day for the owner. One guy is cooling off in jail now because of stolen Catalytic converter. A man bought a brand new car from Elizade and asked the mechanic to deliver the car for him at home but only for him to remove the catalytic converter before delivery. The matter was taken up and it was later traced to him. He has spent so far 8months in jail oh.

lastpage: You can order it from any foreign country where they dont tamper with things like that.

If not for the weight l would have helped you order one from Europe/UK and get it sent it to you but its damn heavy!
I think there is someone in Auto section who helps in ordering parts, as a business?
Check it out.

Lastpage!
Yes Lastpage,I guess siena is the person you are referring to? Although the vehicle is presently in Abuja but if i have need to order sensitive parts like that,i will definitely contact him. It's rather unfortunate that i got his contact after the mess because i would have ordered it straight away via his assistance. Thanks once again for your concern.
Car Talk › Re: Beware Of Catalyst Stealing Mechanics, Welders And Car Dealers!!!! by Eyop: 11:16pm On Nov 19, 2013
olamega: i'm battling the Catalyst issue for about four months now.
This catalyst issue almost ended my life when it happen to a 2007 Toyota Matrix i bought from Cotonou. Even when i went to the market to get a replacement (which you cannot get a new one but rather the old one except you order for it from the United States) i bought a complete exhaust for #35,000 because i never wanted cut and weld but rather coupling it but after it was mounted,it became worst and the vehicle was struggling to drive. It was then they noticed that it was a worked exhaust and i was advice by even the seller that the best thing i should do is to drive the car like that or order it from USA because most of them in Ladipo are worked by his brothers.
Business › Re: Is Gtbank Really The Best Bank In Nigeria by Eyop: 10:54pm On Nov 19, 2013
hopefullman: i also intend to open a dom acc b4 i call it quit with them.i made enquiry with them last month and they told me that since i have an acc with them,i only need two referee and an id card.if they cant satisfy most customers who has ordinary saving acc which is quite basic, how will they satify dom acc holders whose acc is quite complex to operate?for me,i'm done with gtb.i think first bank dom acc is much cheaper than that of gtb though i didnt have any.i only check it on their site.
Well me i have even filled the corporate account form together with the dom account form for opening with GTb but i haven't proceeded there yet. I can still remember years back about the numerous complains in regards First Bank but today it happens to one of the best banks in Nigeria. For me i believe in opening account with several banks as a business man and not a salary earner just incase one bank messes up,you can easily switch to another. Also with a corporate account, you can withdraw cash up to #3million a day so there are atimes you might need cash up to #10,000,000 and if you have only 1 corporate account, you will be charged on the excess.

I know of so many business owners that have corporate account with up to 7 Banks and i ask them why opening so many accounts and their reasons are Central Bank cashless policy and also should incase a particular bank messes up,they won't go through the process of opening up another account but all they need to do is to switch to another bank.
Car Talk › Re: Beware Of Catalyst Stealing Mechanics, Welders And Car Dealers!!!! by Eyop: 9:54pm On Nov 19, 2013
specco: I have just used the car for the sixth day(today). I noticed a 'check' sign on the dashboard after the third day of driving the car but the fuel awareness came when my friends, having knowledge of my former car, started telling me how much I would be saving now ie fuel-wise now that I have moved over to a Japanese car. It was then that it occurred to me that I was not saving anything as they emphatically believed. Then the search for explanation led me to the mechanic this afternoon and behold the bad news.
Then it was removed before you bought the car. I had similar problem and after i confirmed that from the mechanic workshop i vowed never to buy a car with the check engine light on even though some car dealers have another method of handling this which is to clear the codes(by doing this the check engine light will not display so far the vehicle is not driven). It is so rampant now by brother.
