I think it's a bit naive at this point blaming other peoples for not having a sea port or even other projects. There's nothing stopping all the south east governors coming together a port somewhere. Look at the Kurds even under war and separated into multiple countries who are also hostile to them thy've managed to be semi-autonomous and they govern their region how they want. They even have an army.

Ok thanks..

I've been googling around and it seems to me like they are only doing it in Abuja..
Not in Enugu..

I seriously doubt they will do this in Enugu..

http://www.blackborderbuild.com/nigeria-updates/category/centenary-city

The only thing being built in the South East are roads and malls..
All by foreign investors..
Malls, roads and hotels. With that money people could have built serious industries, especially with agriculture. Can you imagine the amount of fruits alone: pawpaw, mangos, soursop, udara, and other unique fruits that are ignored? Not to talk about shea, palm oil, and other billion dollar crops.
PoliticsRe: Breaking News: Ijaw Leader Declares Support For Biafra by ezeagu(m): 10:26am On Nov 25, 2015
I believe this is not the opinion of most Ijo. That Eastern Region centred Biafra of the 60s is dead. 'Biafra' should be an Igbo (cultured) country please.
PoliticsPort Harcourt was named after a Child Rapist by ezeagu(op): 9:31am On Nov 25, 2015
Port Harcourt was named after Lewis Vernon Harcourt, 1st Viscount Harcourt

"Harcourt was known as a sexual predator attracted to both sexes. He attempted to rape Dorothy Brett, the daughter of Lord Esher, and followed this by an attempt to seduce his son. Dorothy Brett wrote of him that "it is so tiresome that Loulou is such an old roué. He is as bad with boys as with girls ... he is simply a sex maniac. It isn't that he is in love. It is just ungovernable Sex desire for both sexes". His behaviour was known and tolerated in certain private quarters, however, after attempting to seduce a 12-year-old boy (Edward James, who grew up to become a great collector of surrealist and other contemporary art), the boy's mother began making the matter public. Harcourt committed suicide by taking an overdose of a sedative[7] at his London home in Brook Street on 24 February 1922, aged 59.[8]"

I was thinking maybe something like a living museum can be created and branded with Thing Fall Apart. What I mean is a museum with actors/staff dressed and acting as people from 19th/18th century Igboland (a generalised one) and then to capitalise on the world wide impact of Achebe's Things Fall Apart, the museum can be partly centred around the story while providing accurate information about everyday life. People will now have reason to come as it would be branded as the 'home of Okonkwo' similar to the impact Harry Potter, Sherlock Homes and other literary and TV icons have had on cities like London. (They have a 'Harry Potter's London' section on the official London tourism site: http://www.visitlondon.com/things-to-do/sightseeing/london-attraction/harry-potters-london, an Enugu tourism site can have a Things Fall Apart section. It can also be linked to slavery, having an international museum of slavery in the city, and also because of the still existing slave trails. There's even an Igbo section of the International Museum of Slavery in the UK: http://www.liverpoolmuseums.org.uk/ism/visit/floor-plan/africa/igbo-compound.aspx

I'm even giving people free business ideas here.

When I think of Nollywood I think of Nigerians (Mainly Igbo) speaking in an awful English/American accents. I think of ridiculous stories. I think quantity over quality. I don't necessarily think of Igbo people or Igbo culture. You said Nollywood is 98% Igbo? The sad thing is most of the highest grossing Nollywood movies (not Yoruba movie industry) are made by Yoruba film makers. The 2% outdo you at your own game lol
Lol, at least you're watching.

Where were ya folks discussed for 30 pages apart from when Igbo like Qelvin, freeglobe, and others came on the thread to derail it? Yet you keep saying you're not emotional. Check yourself and stop troubling me and stalking the thread.

I don't check ya Igbo threads, so stop trying to indirectly invite me to the thread on the sly. Good luck with ya Enugu thread.
First I was emotional, like posting monkey gifs, now I'm troubling you and stalking the thread because you mentioned me. "I don't check ya Igbo threads" you don't because you turn your threads into one and discuss Igbo issue anyway, like this thread, check the first page. Lol, maybe you're projecting this "emotional" thing because you're the one that mentioned this handle. Tell those guys, or better yet, bring up Benin Republic on that thread and stop wasting pages on Igbo people. Tell them that.

But did Igbos colonise Yorubas?

And are Igbos in Yorubaland due to the fall-out of world war 2, like the Japanese who migrated en-masse to Brazil after hiroshima and nagasaki?

Ezeagu, you just love troubling me, don't you?

However, the problem is that when you're in ya Igbotic element, you always allow emotional impulses to override logical reasoning.

Igboland is a dead end, hence folks keep leaving the place. Tell the truth and shame the devil. grin
Japanese people didn't migrate to Brazil because of the war, actually most migrated before, but that's besides to point, because Lagos was still developed with oil money and became a landing ground for everyone who wanted to be successful, especially after Igboland was levelled after the war. What emotional impulses when you mentioned me? Emotional impulses is discussing Igbo people for 30 pages on a thread about your commonwealth. That's not done on the Enugu thread. Lol. Can't you just halt that for a few pages? Take the advice and tell the others on the thread please.

Igboland is such a dead end that it takes up 30 pages of discussion on your commonwealth thread? Here: https://www.nairaland.com/2698050/nigeria-holding-back-south-east

Loool.

I don't check ya threads cos I know folks naturally don't migrate from a functioning/thriving society to a non-thriving one. The migration pattern in Nigeria alone is enough to tell me what Igboland is like - hell on earth and somewhere everyone is trying to get away from.

So why do you stalk our thread, if I may ask?

Always a victim. Take ya pity party. grin grin grin

Well you probably don't pay attention to health/development statistics either, so here's a help: https://www.nairaland.com/2698050/nigeria-holding-back-south-east

This is the sort of things posted on those threads since you've never seen them (because, again, you're never mentioned). Just in case you were ever wondering.

I guess Europeans colonised South Africa and Australia because Europe wasn't functioning, or there's a million Japanese people in Brazil because Japans horrible.

Perhaps when the sun starts shining in ya region, folks will start "jealousying" the gully erosion ravaged land everyone is trying to get away from. grin

Igbo businesses? - you mean Igbo dysfunctional fraudulent hustle with fake goods? grin
If there's gully erosion in Igboland, at least that's being discussed, not half witted comments about people hundreds of miles away, you know, just a hint. If everyone were fleeing Igboland then the Enugu, Anambra, and Imo threads wouldn't be there now would it? Have you or your people ever been mentioned there? No. Now why can't you focus on a project just like posters in the Enugu thread are too busy discussing south east/Igbo project's. I think you guys should use that thread as a template because this Igbo, Igbo, Igbo thing has you looking like a estranged lover you know. Go and tell the rest in that thread. You can say you came up with this idea on your own if you want.

If you are referring to those low budget 10-10 kobo films, good luck to you. Shows your quality or no quality.
You keep posting this same list, but you're not getting the point.

Shymm3x:
Huh?
I was basically just responding to someone's post about Pazienza and his smear campaign everywhere about the thread. And I alluded to the fact that the both of you are similar.
You just wanted to drag me into this war, don't you? grin
Anyway, when ya folks stop wandering everywhere like Esau and Pikeys, folks won't discuss the problems you bring with ya wandering shoes to Yorubaland, while snarling up the whole place and putting unnecessary stress on the non-existent amenities there. How about stay in region like Yorubas stay in theirs? grin
I'm out.
Your hot topics should be Benin Republic and Fulani massacres/kidnappings, not jealousying Igbo businesses. Focus, okay? Good.
