Politics › APC Govs Resolve To Caution Warring Senators by Ezenwammadu(op): 11:15am On Jun 24, 2015
All Progressives Congress’ state governors have expressed concern over the ongoing leadership crisis in the National Assembly. They have therefore decided to invite their senators and prevail on them on the need to respect party supremacy on any matter. The decision was taken at a late night meeting the APC governors had with President Muhammadu Buhari at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, on Tuesday. The meeting which was held behind closed-doors ended in the early hours of Wednesday. At the end of the meeting, Governor Rochas Okorocha of Imo State told State House correspondents that he and his colleagues were worried by the development in the National Assembly and decided to rub minds with the President on the matter. He said they also used the opportunity of the meeting to commend the President on the steps he has taken so far to address the issue of the economy of the nation which he said was literarily in shamble.Okorocha described the meeting with the President as more reassuring, adding that there is light at the dark end of the tunnel. He said, “With all these achievements and progress we are making, we are worried by the pockets of disagreements going on at the National Assembly.“We have resolved that we came from a party and our party’s views should be respected.“So, we feel that there is the need for us to invite our senators and look more into the matter and see how we can all make peace.“We believe that everyone should respect our party from which we all came from and for that reason, we have decided that we are going to invite our senators and rub minds with them.“We are saying that there should not be a winner-takes-it-all; that we should carry everybody along and accommodate others as suggested by the party.”Also, Governor Adams Oshiomhole of Edo State said all they agreed on was that senators should adopt the position of the party.“We were all elected on the platform of the party. We are not just a collection of individuals, we are a political party and when the party has spoken we must listen, otherwise if it was a game of individuals like golf then individuals can go their way.“I think it is very clear at this point that the party has the responsibility to keep the system going, so we as progressive governors, we have listened to the President and we have discussed extensively and we are clear that the party’s position should be supported by the senators.“This is the way it should be and we should start on a note of working closely. We as governors, we listen to the party, we expect our senators to also listen to the party.“We are going to call them and tell them this is it and explain our reasons, it is about party supremacy. The meeting, which started at about a few minutes before 11pm on Tuesday, was attended by 16 APC governors.Buhari had, earlier in the day, met with all state governors. The first meeting which was at the instance of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum was to find a lifeline for state governments who have been unable to pay salaries because of financial crisis. Some of the governors later joined some traditional rulers from the North for the traditional breaking of Ramadan fast before attending the late night meeting.

APC is just like its symbol the broom. The only thing binding it together is the lust after the presidential seat which is the strand. Now they have gotten it the strand is no longer there and things are falling apart

The governors who visited Oyegun included Comrade Adams Oshiomhole (Edo), Tanko Al-Makura (Nasarawa), Mallam Nasir El-Rufai (Kaduna), Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola (Osun), Abubakar Sani Belo (Niger) Senator Abiola Ajimobi (Oyo), Atiku Bagudu (Kebbi) and Abubuakar Badaru (Jigawa).

This man deserves nothing but scorn and punishment by the state. He left us a broken nation, a nation of terrorists, a nation with an army of unemployed youths, a kidnapper's nation, a nation ruled by militants who feed fat from the state, a nation of corrupt billionaires, a nation of N7 trillion deficit, a nation with a broken and weak military, a nation disrespected by other African nations, a nation with a severely broken infrastructure, a nation unable to pay its workers, a nation with dead hospitals, a nation of a devalued naira; A nation now down on its knees weeping and desperately looking for a way out of the cesspit it found itself.
This is a picture of GEJ currently vacation in Los Angeles, a city that is 100 years ahead any of the cities he left in Nigeria. This is what this wicked, corrupt, clueless and weak leader brought upon Nigeria. A failed man that deserves no scintilla of honor. A weightless, demoralized politician. A man who deserves nothing but to cool his heels in jail!

Politics › Boko Haram Militants Slit Throats Of 20 Villagers In Born by Ezenwammadu(op): 1:05pm On Jun 23, 2015
Boko Haram militants attacked and  killed at least 20 people including women in Borno Village yesterday; a fleeing resident has told Saharareporters
The notorious group stormed the village of Debiro on motorcycles and pick-up vans burning down homes and shooting indiscriminately at the villagers.

The militants then rounded up at least 20 villagers and slit their throats.
Debiro is in Hawul Local government area of Borno state.

’’It was in the afternoon time when we started hearing gunshots and people were running helter-skelter, there was confusion everywhere, some were shot dead and many had their throats slit. We were helpless as our foodstuffs were carted away by the rampaging militants who later burnt down most of the houses in our village.''

''I can't say tell you the correct number of people killed, but at least 20 people including women had their throats slit.''‎ the fleeing resident told SaharaReporters.

Luka Yakubu, a resident in Kworjafa village near Debiro, told SaharaReportersby phone that after Boko Haram attacked Debiro village in the afternoon some people fled to Kworjafa, he said an unspecified number of villagers were killed. Debiro is a remote village located in southern part of Borno state; it's about 246 kilometers from Maiduguri, the Borno state capital.

Politics › Unpaid Salaries: Governor Okorocha Appeals To Workers To Be Patient by Ezenwammadu(op): 11:35am On Jun 23, 2015
The Imo State Governor, Rochas Okorocha, has made a passionate appeal to workers in the Imo State to remain patient as the government is committed to ensuring that in no distant time all salaries being owed by the state government would be paid accordingly.

The Governor gave this assurance in Owerri the Imo State capital while speaking to Government House correspondents at the government house.

This is in the face of the crisis of unpaid salaries of workers rocking most states of the federation.

He said that the government does not have any intention of downsizing or slashing workers salaries as peddled by some quarters, noting that his government is a worker-friendly government and the challenge of the unpaid salaries is not peculiar to Imo state.

He, however, advised workers in the state to remain committed and dedicated to their duties as the state government will not condone any form of financial recklessness, laziness and activities of ghost workers.

Imo State is one of the state in the federation listed to be owing workers and pensioners.
