Well, I won't say the Yorubas developed lagos. It was developed with federal money because it was the nations capital, and nigerians of ALL ethnicities have contributed immensely to what makes Lagos the economic center of Nigeria, PERIOD. Remove the contributions of other Nigerians from Lagos, and all the federal money dumped into its develpoment and you have NOTHING.
    If Tinubu can come from Osun state to become governor of lagos, then I think others too can aspire for the same. In the case of Abuja, the FCT minister's position is not reserved for indigenes of Abuja. On the other hand, I can see how the Yorubas would fight to maintain their political relevance in lagos, its only natural to seek to retain a favorable position.

Nnamdi Azikiwe was a thorn in the British side. Let us be real with ourselves. The British did not like leaders like him, Dr. Kwame Nkrumah and others.

Well since modern day British are descendants of Germanic invaders. I wish the Romans crossed the Rhine River and dealt with the various Germanic tribes that inhabited the region. That would have save the Roman Empire a lot of headaches. However, the Roman Emperor Augstus did not want anymore Roman troops crossing the Rhine after he lost 12 legions under the command of Varus.

To be honest, I hope the former Mid-West region (minus Igbo areas) will have their own country. They will provide a useful buffer zone between the Igbo and Yoruba.

And the Middle Belt can be a good buffer zone as well for the new Southern nations.

I see. Good points, though I was under the impression that Britain had been ruling India since the 1700s. Overall, I see why they did what they did. Shame Nigerians had be 40-50 years behind educationally in addition to how far behind others they were in other aspects. These Brits were just so exploitative. They didn't learn from their own history. Sometimes I wish the Romans had made mincemeat of them and made the British Isles into Little Rome.

The Romans actually did that to their province in Britannia. We all know the original inhabitants of Britain were thoroughly Romanized. Rome's influence went as far North into Scotland, but they could not conquer the warrior Scots.

Now what have now in Great Britain are the descendants of Germanic tribes known as the Saxons. This is where you get Anglo-Saxons who conquered the island, when Rome was falling.

Well he wouldn't be the first Hausa in charge of Enugu. Remember the 1st leader of Enugu was a Hausa.

Hausa boys already were fighting in the streets of Lagos. Do not make the Igbos or Ijaws join the fray. We already seen the Ijaws attack Atlas Cove and the Yorubas in Lagos got upset.

Maybe we should unleash the warlike Ijaws on Lagos. No one can tame those people.

For me, Lagos is a slum. I am just a provincial man from Abia. Now I would say that Port Harcourt belongs to the Igbo though. No doubt about that, because I will be on familiar terrain.

Let an Igbo boy who was raised in Lagos say that. I know many Igbos feel that way about Lagos.

On a very serious note, the "Lagos is for everyone" attitude will only bring about bloodshed. It isn't for everyone. If you are serious with that statement, then I think you truly want violence.

Lagos would not what it is, if it wasn't made the capital of the Southern protectorate. All Southern Nigerians have a claim to Lagos. The British built up Lagos for their own purposes and some of you Yoruba think you can benefit from that. No!

Even though Yorubas did help with the building of Lagos with the cocoa proceeds, Igboland's palm oil plantations also helped with the foundations of Lagos.

Niger Deltan oil also added to infrastructure during the 70s and 80s.

Lagos is for everyone! Get used to it. That will be my mantra!

I would claim Abuja, but it serves no strategic or economic purpose.

Well Yorubas did steal it from the rightful owners who were the Bini people. Now if more Igbos move to Lagos, and Lagos, becomes a majority Igbo town. Who will be the owners then?  

So I hope more Igbos move to Lagos. Reproduce and create more Igbos. I even invite Hausa to come to Lagos. The more the merrier. Let us not stop there and include Ghanaians. Lagos is for everyone!

You can try, but I wouldn't mess with "bush" Igbos. There are very different from us refined Igbo. Many follow the old ways.

Lagos should be split like Jerusalem, Brussel, Belgrade and any other city that is split along ethnic lines. I don't care if it is geopolitics. Many Igbos claim Lagos, so they have a right to partition Lagos amongst the Igbo, Yoruba, Hausa and any other ethnicity that has a rightful claim.

The last one I went to was in Vegas. I had fun.

If i were to take a quick survey of the discussions that you spend the most time on i am very sure that i will find that you spend a disproportionate amount of your time on discussions which focus on igbo vs yoruba issues, you obviously have some unresolved issues regarding igbo people, but hey im no shrink , seek help if you feel the need for it.
