I have been holding back on my Ngwa references. But no wonder they will never taste the governorship in Abia State. ChinenyeN seems like he enjoys antagonizing the other Igbo clans.    grin

PhysicsMHD:
Nzeogwu was a sidekick, like Ademoyega. It was not his revolution.

Anyhow, if he had had his way, he would have gunned down Michael Okpara that you're always praising on here, without a second thought. So much for heroism.
How do you know that he would have gunned down Dr. Michael Okpara? Dr. Okpara was far from corrupt. He was one of the most selfless politicians Nigeria has ever seen. And was much beloved in the entire East.

A man who didn't have a home to his name. Not even in his VILLAGE. And we all know Igbo men take pride in building a home in their village.

One thing that has been eating at me, is that I feel Ojukwu may have played a role in Nzeogwu's death.

I know Ojukwu seen Nzeogwu as a threat to his power.

Violent Riots in western Region after Akintola and co were killed in 1966?

Bros Sir, Are you a Comedian? shocked
No I am not talking when Akintola was killed. I am talking about the violent riots that swept through most of Nigeria. Starting with the pogroms in the North. You do know Igbos were targeted in Lagos.
PoliticsRe: In Lagos you are either rich or poor,no middle man by EzeUche2(m): 9:55pm On Feb 07, 2011
The middle class is nonexistent in Nigeria. It can be barely be seen. You either you rich or you poor. It is as simple as that.

Like Katsumoto asked; What reaction? can you please clarify?
The violent riots that occurred throughout the Western region. I can understand the riots in the North, but in the Western region, they were totally uncalled for.
PoliticsRe: Video Footage Of Aguiyi-ironsi, Nzeogwu, Sardauna’s House, Katsina…. by EzeUche2(m): 9:47pm On Feb 07, 2011
The revolution was messy, because it was thwarted. Nzeogwu didn't succeed, because of the blunders of some of his compatriots. I believe more heads would have rolled if he was allowed to fully implement his revolution.

I really wish Nzeogwu succeeded. Such a brave man. Truly my hero!
PoliticsRe: Video Footage Of Aguiyi-ironsi, Nzeogwu, Sardauna’s House, Katsina…. by EzeUche2(m): 8:34pm On Feb 07, 2011
People from the former now defunct Western region, why the reaction?

It is understandable that the north reacted in such a way, but from all accounts, the people of the West supported the coup.

There was no love lost with Akintola, so why the reaction?

I still never understood that. And it is a fair question.
PoliticsRe: Video Footage Of Aguiyi-ironsi, Nzeogwu, Sardauna’s House, Katsina…. by EzeUche2(m): 8:28pm On Feb 07, 2011
The fact remains that Ahmadu Bello should not have been killed.

All the other politicians were expendable. Okotie-Eboh, Akintola, Balewa etc were all expendable, but Ahmadu Bello was a prize and they should have kept him alive, because he would have proved useful as a bargaining chip.

I will repeat. You do not kill the #2 man for the Sokoto Caliphate. Someone who could have been the Sultan of Sokoto. A direct descendant of Uthman Dan Fodio.

His death spelled the end for the Igbo in the Northern region. Akintola was just a stooge for Balewa.

What I don't understand is why the West reacted in such a manner. Awolowo was freed so why the wahala? Opportunistic?
PoliticsRe: Video Footage Of Aguiyi-ironsi, Nzeogwu, Sardauna’s House, Katsina…. by EzeUche2(m): 6:02pm On Feb 07, 2011
The biggest mistake that the coupist did was kill Ahamadu Bello. That was a complete mistake on their part. Now he was the most beloved leader out of all the politicians that were killed. That is something I cannot wrap my mind around. Why kill the #2 man to the Sultan of Sokoto?

SEFAGO:
^ Hmm, there is strength in our diversity, and drawing up one monolithic culture or national identity is not even remotely possible except all the igbos and hausas decide to start speaking yoruba and eating pounded yam from my own point of view.
More people speak Hausa than both Igbo and Yoruba combined in this world. It is like a lingua franca for most of West Africa. Go to any West African state and you will find a group of people who know Hausa, even though they may not even be Hausa. That is why they have a BBC Hausa.

Force dans la diversite? Je ne crois pas que c'est le cas pour le Nigeria. Continuez a rever.
PoliticsRe: Why Nigeria's North South Distinction Is Important by EzeUche2(m): 5:31pm On Feb 07, 2011
I think fmr Ambassador John Campbell is obsessed with Nigeria.  grin

However, he is correct though in his assessment. I wonder how the North will react in this election. And I am not talking about the Northerners who sold their souls to GEJ. I am talking about the Northerners who want to have power at all cost. The ones who are not afraid to use violence or whip their populace into a religious frenzy.
PoliticsRe: Tribalism In Belgium by EzeUche2(m): 5:29pm On Feb 07, 2011
I have always stated that countries should split linguistically. That is the easiest way. The Flemish people do not see eye to eye with the French speaking people of Belgium, so I can understand why both groups would want to go their separate ways.

And Aguiyi was innocent?
That is not even that long. Yes, Aguiyi was innocent. People have told you time and time again. He had no knowledge of the plot. Just look at the man in the video and tell me you think he knew what was happening around him. The people who killed that innocent man should pay. Many still live amongst us.

I knw that this has nothing to do with the topic but can you

see the level of the english language used back in the day??

Now compare that and what you we have in our present society

Mehn, e don ter, Nigeria died a long time ago
I understand what you mean.

It would seem like this nation has regressed.

If you look at the way most of the 1st Republic politicians and journalist spoke English, I am just amazed.

Now fast-forward to today and listen to Nigerian politicians. They can barely speak the English language.

And I don't want to hear that it is, because English is not their first language. If you going to use a language, then speak the language correctly!

Why would anyone want to kill Okpara? He was not a corrupt official, which can be seen in his actions. There was no corrupt bone in his body, so the coupist would have no reason to kill the man.

I would like to believe that the planning and construction of roads would be a government endeavor, but the actual development would be private driven.
If the government can build the first sets of arterial roads, people will snap up the properties and start developing it.
Nigerian's don't miss this type of opportunity.

The plan is the key.
If this succeeds, maybe they can show the rest of the East, Nigeria, and Africa in general how to create an economically sustainable city for the 21st century. This is welcomed news and I hope the best for this organization. It makes me want to help them with their endeavor.

Good questions!
I'm hoping that someone would furnish the answers.
I also want to know their plans to link it with Asaba airport just across the river Niger.

That will help determine whether it will grow quickly.
I want to believe this, but developing a city such as this would cost millions or even billions of dollars. Where is the funding coming from we must ask ourselves? Private donors?

I checked the website out and I still have questions.

This is the foundations website: http://chifefoundation.org/?page_id=5
PoliticsRe: New City In Anambra by EzeUche2(m): 5:18am On Feb 07, 2011
Have they broke ground for this new city? And where are they getting the funding for this project if it isn't from the government? It looks too good to be true.
