We need Kingsley Michael, Nwakali and Onyedika as additions to our midfield.

Bu..... but, I thought oyenka, ndidi, aribo, iwobi and etebo are our best midfielders. Infact they are the best midfielders in Africa.

And lemme add that Nwakali is not needed we have a "press resistant" midfield maestro like Bonke
The contest of my post then was in response to the disrespect to Onyeka. Onyeka is needed same as Nwakali.
I have always recognized Nwakali's talent in my previous posts. Nwakali can help Iwobi cos he can play AM too. They are both Nigerians!

As pointed out already, if Dennis played the PK against the coach's instruction, he should face consequences for that. Secondly, Paseiro needs to know when to use his 4-4-2, definitely a double pivot would have been better against an opposition like Portugal. I am not convinced about Kelvin.
Aribo was used as an AM/SS to press the RCB whenever Moffi presses the LCB but he was just jogging and walking around. There was a time Ndidi had to ask him to press. Iwobi was used in a Xhaka role while Ndidi played the Partey role. Paserio used 4-3-3. Aribo just failed to do what he was asked to do. Paserio plays double strikers in a 4-4-2. He would have started Desser/Onachu and Moffi if he intended to play 4-4-2.
Nevertheless Portugal didn't really have chances to score until after that penalty miss. I switched off my TV after that miss cos I knew there was no way Portugal won't score two or three.
SportsRe: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by fabyom: 9:55pm On Nov 17, 2022
Chukweze missed a sitter and Dennis missed a penalty while Portugal got a cheap penalty.
This game is a already a psychological pain to our players. The penalty miss just killed any iota of interest in the game. For me, the game ended when Dennis missed that penalty.

We have a good team in transition.
Nevertheless I believe, we need Nwakali as the second AM.
We move!

The penalty miss killed the team spirit. After that miss, they just gave up.

See how a double DM changed the game. Aribo and Iwobi should not be starting together.
SportsRe: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by fabyom: 8:40pm On Nov 17, 2022
Aribo and Simon out. Chukweze and Etebo in. We need double DM in the middle. Portugal defense is porous press them.

I disagree sir. Aribo is most likely playing to the coach's instruction. JP probably told them to play a 4-4-2 and not a 4-3-3.
This I 4-3-3 not 4-4-2. Aribo is doing nothing. Can't press, dribble nor pass.
SportsRe: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by fabyom: 8:22pm On Nov 17, 2022
Come out and press them na ooo. This is just a friendly match. Press the f...out of them. What's this low block nonsense.
SportsRe: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by fabyom: 8:11pm On Nov 17, 2022
Aribo is doing nothing in that midfield. Onyeka or Etebo should have started. This Portugal team is not playing anything.

Oh, I do believe with this win it is good as a confidence booster. Switzerland is way ranked higher than black stars. They certainly need to build on this win and find some inspiration. But I know for certain they will be the underdogs and they will not concede many goals. They lack that killer poacher quality in Asamoah Gyan who rises up to the occasion. mostly a one-goal margin win for them but they must learn to bury chances when they have it.
I definitely agree with your comment. With Partey and Kudus in the mix they will be up for the challenge. Most of these second grade European teams (Switzerland, Poland, Iceland, Austria, Romania, Greece Hungary
etc) find it hard defeating the African teams.

You can't be too sure sir. Just because the coach doesn't do the usual last minute substitution doesn't mean Aiyenugba has regressed. Moreso I think Ejide was majorly Enyeama's deputy then..
Sorry sir, I didn't say anybody regressed. Enyeama was in goal against Tunisia at AFCON 2004 and 2006 penalties shoot out.

The Ghanaian team has the most balanced first 11 among the African team going to this world cup.
352 formation.

Attigi

Salisu Djiku Amartey
Odoi. Partey. Menasha

Kudus. DedeAyew. Suliaman/Bukari

Kyere/Jordan. Inaki.

Bro... But Aiyenugba was always subbed in then anytime the game entered penalty.
That was when they were both playing at Enyimba. At the National team level Enyeama was undisputed, penalties or not.

Nigerian teams need to start taking this competition seriously.

This is a $400,000 competition for God sake.

An injection of $400,000 into the Nigerian league will go a long way in improving female football in the country.

Sundowns is about making a cool $800, 000.
They gave their all. They were just Unlucky. Bayelsa was actually the best team in that tournament.

Which coach will let u find out if u have good ballplaying IQ against Cityhuh The brenford i saw were playing anywhere would do with the ball for the most part. In his previous match the coach let Frank do his thing and he had a brilliant performance that more than likely earned him the city start. If that's not good enough we can look back at his midjiland days where he was basically Raphael Onyedika before there was Raphael Onyedika.

At the end of the day u can't fault a man for being a professional. If he goes out there trying to prove he's a baller and the coach ends up hiding him under the bench nobody will have his back.
Thank you Basco! No more, no less!

We all know I tag Chuks the Naija Robben and will always rate him but you lots should cool it on this one.

Chukwueze bagged a brace and double assists against a Spanish 5th tier side. A Tercera Amateur team.

So make una cool down abeg.

Arsenal watching because of Brace vs a 5th Tier amateur team? Calm down. grin
But Nwakali is better than a Premier league player? Okooo

You are late to the Bruno hype party that began here many pages back but welcome to the light. Better late than never.

Anyway, he's still a bit rough around certain edges. He's a solid Left footed defender with rooms for improvement. Always liked him since his feirense days.

Udogie looks more polished for now though.
The difference, Udogie plays primarily as a wing back while Bruno plays as one of the 3 men in a back 3 or left back. Of course Udogie is clearly better.

What disrespect? Is this below the immense display we witnessed today?

Same game I saw? All he did was run around and do his pressing jobs and make pressing runs into the final third when needed. What else? Dude did what I expected of his pressing qualities and was used by Thomas Frank exactly how I have analysed him several times. Plus he even missed a big chance.

Truth remains Onyeka doesn't have the ball playing nous needed for the Super Eagles Midfield while Nwakali has it in abundance and has been very consistent this season.

The game vs Man City again showed Onyeka's limitations. ZERO PASSING RANGE ON DISPLAY. Not even a single Long ball from Onyeka. Not a single through ball or lines-breaking pass.

Couldn't even complete one dribble.

The chance he created came via a simple short pass layoff for Toney which was even squandered.

You guys will eventually come to see the truth in time. For now, live on in your delusions about the current state of the Super Eagles Midfield.
How many DMs does/do what you listed above against a team like Mancity? Until Nwakali plays with quality footballers then we can compare.

Chukwueze got a brace and assist in a copa del Rey game tonight
Fantastic. The new coach believes in him not yanking him off for Pino every 60 or 70 minutes.
He needs consistency in playing time after that his last injury. I am happy the new coach has found a way to start him and Pino instead of substituting them for each other like Emery.
Arsenal is watching!!

Liverpool and Arsenal interested in Oshimen and Chuz respectively. Nothing concrete yet!
