Rohr is never a good coach. Musa and Ighalo still dey pitch, you remove Chukwueze?
Geoangel:
THIS IS WHERE WE LOST. HOW DO YOU REMOVE YOUR BEST PLAYER??
SportsRe: Algeria Vs Nigeria: AFCON Semi-Finals (2 - 1) Full Time by facts1234: 10:23pm On Jul 14, 2019
How can Ighalo be our main striker? He no sabi pass, he no sabi tackle defenders, na to just de stroll for pitch he sabi.

Again, why did Rohr play him for 90mins?

Dedetwo:
Any coach that selected Ighalo for anything should not be commended. If such as player as Onyekuru or even Osihem is inserted in the position of Ighalo, this team would have enjoyed the creativity in the midfield.

i blame Rohr and the Gk TRAINER. They both must go.

We have better goalkeepers.

boluwaay:
For truth, we don't want to see this gala-keeper Akpeyi in anything called eagles again. He's a big disappointment. And I don't blame him. I blame the coach that insist he must be the man on the goal post for us
A bunch of rubbish
SportsRe: Algeria Vs Nigeria: AFCON Semi-Finals (2 - 1) Full Time by facts1234: 10:15pm On Jul 14, 2019
Wasn't that clear for all to see? The GK trainer must be fired tonight. He is so lazy to scout decent keepers.

Ezenwa and Alampasu are far better than Akpeyi.

EZENWA is not even the best goalkeeper in the league? Why not invite the best goalkeeper in the league?

Gullah:
Please this should be the last time Akpeyi is ever invited to the national team. We have seen all he has to offer and it's not good enough. Others should be given a chance

It's never wise not to have a joker in a match like this.

Algeria had studied the Super Eagles too much.

The coach must make changes.

Onyekuru must come in.

This formation can be twerked if Ighalo is too caged to perform.

Onyekuru replaces Musa and Musa plays as a striker.

Thank you for this point.

Substitute Ighalo when you know he is not having a great game. 60-70 mins is ok for him . Our opponents have studied him well.
Bring in a joker later in the match; bring in ONYEKURU OR OSIMHEN.

We love Ighalo; but we need to win.

TBrown77:
[b]I know Eagles will score first but the philosophy of the coach towards the usage of its substitutions is very bad!!! After hard fought of scoring in the first half, the coach always waited for equalizer before it’s first substitution, and I don’t why he let signal to always play 90 minutes football, he should let ighalo to know that he will be playing for 60 minutes after which Osimhen comes in. This coach should make use of his substitution and not come back home unused. Best of luck Eagles, win Algeria win the cup. My humble submission.
SportsRe: AFCON: Ahmed Musa's Unselfishness Is Causing Us Problems by facts1234: 12:04pm On Jul 12, 2019
The midfield in the first game was not as effective as their last game's.

How many passes did Onuachu receive as a striker? He was lone upfront most of the time. One can not really blame Onuachu in the first game.

Given the opportunity,he will still gel and become a great striker in GWG after this tournament.

I am not in anyway blaming Ighalo. ALL WE are asking for is if Ighalo is not as effective in a game as the last game, Gernot Rohr should bring in Onyekuru.

Ighalo was effective in the Cameroonian game, he wasn't in the South African game. Why stick to him all through 90 minutes when we have Onyekuru on the bench?

Stephendeals:
They gave another person in the first game and nothing happened till he came to the rescue just 5 minutes after he entered the fray!

Ighalo is still the highest goal scorer in this tourney!....

The only problem i can say for Ighalo is positioning but for wastefulness i beg to differ
SportsRe: AFCON: Ahmed Musa's Unselfishness Is Causing Us Problems by facts1234: 10:41am On Jul 12, 2019
Ahmed Musa, with all his flaws, is an asset to this team.

His runs, at least keep the opponents' attack at bay.

zanogo:
hey!! you are not that wrong, but higuain at his peak is very good at positioning, he just usually misses than he scores, when at madrid, he would replace benzema at the 60 minutes mark and would still see more good chances than benzema who played more minutes, musa has always been like this, that is why he is not great, just only good, great speed, average dribbling but poor execution, we dont have to blame ighalo here, musa has always been like this, he is not decisive at all, for a player of his calibre, i think it is shameful, when u beat a wing back and dashing towards the box 18, you look up to see available team mates, if they are few or they are not reachable, then you can go for the kill, but musa will just throw an aimless pass into the box waiting for miracle to happen just like The over hyped Townsend during his tottenham days, great speed, great dribbling but no end product, i would prefer onyekuru and Chukwueze on the wings. musa is an expert dog used for hunting, and an expert dog used for hunting does not spoil the meat of his games or else he pays with his own skin , musa needs to sit on the bench for sometime.
SportsRe: AFCON: Ahmed Musa's Unselfishness Is Causing Us Problems by facts1234: 10:38am On Jul 12, 2019
What happened to Chukwueze's pass to Ighalo during the South African game?

Ighalo needs to improve in his positioning.

Stephendeals:
70 Minutes without supply? Strikers cant do nada unless they get the ball
SportsRe: AFCON: Ahmed Musa's Unselfishness Is Causing Us Problems by facts1234: 10:25am On Jul 12, 2019
PLAY HENRY ONYEKURU too.
Bigii:
Very good finisher being wasted in the bench
SportsRe: Algeria Vs Nigeria: AFCON Semi-Finals (2 - 1) Full Time by facts1234: 10:14am On Jul 12, 2019
Why can't Rohr start Ighalo and substitute him at 70 mins to enable us see what Onyekuru offers?

Afterall, Ighalo has been given lots of opportunities in the GWG that is making Rohr and other Nigerians feel "we don't have options".

In the game against Cameroun, it was clear to all that he was effective in the game, but same can not be said about the South African game.

My problem with Rohr is his inability to make changes when it's due.

Ighalo was not having a good game against South Africa, as it normally happens in football. Why not try Onyekuru or Osimhen? It's either they

perform or they don't perform. Ighalo was not performing, so the "risk" ( quote and unquote) was worth taking
SportsRe: AFCON: Ahmed Musa's Unselfishness Is Causing Us Problems by facts1234: 10:10am On Jul 12, 2019
Let's make this noise loud enough on social media.

We need to see Onyekuru or Osimhen for at least 20 minutes.

70 MINUTES is enough for our darling Ighalo to score goals.

PopeFlatino:
I don't know say u people also noticed that shocked

Anytime Musa goes for a mazy run and my Siblings and dad rises in expectation,I always tell Dem "calm down, goal won't come"...this has been d case from our first match.

The fault is from Musa,The Coach and Ighalo.

Musa always rushes to pass at once, even when the post is facing him,or wen d defenders are already fidgeting and he has chance to drift in more, he always releases the ball so early..this is why I prefer Onyekuru because he has eye for goal and he is pacy like Musa as well.

The coach is to be blamed because that seems to be his instruction that Musa is now adhering to,,Musa scored solo goals against Iceland even wen there is someone to pass to,so this new pattern I never understand.. Secondly the team is playing more of conservative with two defensive minded midfielders and d wing backs rarely joins the attack..if not we won't only depend on Ighalp to score those cutbacks and passes..Use Mancity for instance,Sterling,Bernado,Walker or Mendy can never pass after run without someone hitting it into d net,,someone most be there to show d difference in tactics.

Finally,I still say this..Ighalo is not d best of what we deserve...Look to the bench and bring on Osimhen or Onyekuru.. those boys are younger, pacy, sharp, positions well and possess killer instinct..Ighalo is old fashion he scores tapins wen it falls to him but disappoints wen needed..even on our last match he was no where to be found weneva Chukeueze works d ball...

My opinion

All their players been showing arrogance. Dey are all saying they kno the Eagles inside out, Chai just bkus dey beat a wacky Egyptian side and beat our experimental side at home.

I am not an Ighalo fan, buh in this case I am solidly behind him to squeez life outta those loudmouths tongue
They know Akpeyi inside out. Make una tell Rohr not to field Akpeyi o.

Whatever happens in our next game, Please tell Rohr not to field AKPEYI.

The South Africans seem to know him very, very well. They know his low points as a keeper and will exploit them to the fullest. They are so,so confident when they see him in goal.

A word is enough for the wise

We need hungry, talented players.

Dele Alampasu is far better than Akpeyi.

What does Awaziem offer this team? Where is Musa Muhammed?

Please tell Rohr to start Chukwueze and Onyekuru in the next match.

Osimhen should also be given one whole half to prove himself.

The first half is enough your Ighalo to score as many goals as he wants.

VeeVeeMyLuv:
Before you people start to judge Rohr, please first answer this question, can any player in super eagles score free kick or long range shot like Egypt Salah?
We had players that could do this, but we left them because " they aren't doing well in their clubs". Yes, we had Musa Muhammed.

What have " those doing well in their clubs" achieved?

We struggled in an easy group and Madagascar walloped us?

Not a single Super Eagles player in the best 11 AFCON round one games? It would have been better to take only the best home based players to this tournament. The embarrassment would not have exceeded this. Also, we don't have to waste our scarce resources that would have been put to bettering the lots of more Nigerians.

Lastly, we need to lend our voices to the call of getting ATTACKING MIDFIELDERS for our team. We need to talk about it very often. Because of 'Mikel", people shut their brains to quality players? Who did this to us?

Tell them clearly o.

How come Ighalo with all his experience has not been able to deliver? Onuachu has not been given enough time as Ighalo. Osimhen has not been given a chance either.

For the experience pundits, please tell RoHR to please substitute Ighalo for Osimhen at half time. Let each of them play one half so we can better assess them. It's also unfair to us and Osimhen. Why do we keep using Ighalo? Why?

How much experience did Mba have to cause havoc in the 2013 finals?

This Super Eagles TEAM is a pointer to the fact that Experience is over-rated.

whatever happen on Saturday awaziem should not play the right back if he can't displace one of the center backs he should seat on the bench and fasten the bench belt... his attitude against Madagascar make me cringe
I thought I was the only one that noticed. What exactly does Awaziem bring to this team? Even in the match against Guinea, Simon had to do more of covering him up than disturbing the Guinean defence.

Please tell Rohr to play CHUKWUEZE full time on Saturday. We need players that can regularly trouble the defence. Troubling the defence of your opponents makes them unsettled and prevents them from attacking, which is good. even if such troubling doesn't result in goals.

Ahmed Musa too, whether as a starter or a super sub. His runs are needed to destabilize Camerounians' attack.

One of the best attacking MidFielders we have in this Country is Kelechi Nwakali. Please go back and watch Nigeria Vs athletico Madrid and confirm what am saying. Not every footballer flourishes at the club stage before national football. How many of our best generation players of 1994 started with big European clubs?

We identified talent in Kelechi Nwakali. Why wasn't he given time to blend and flourish with the Super Eagles? Had we given him some more time, he would have developed so much.

Secondly, sometimes we choose players because of their unique strengths. Musa Mohammed is a good crosser of the ball, he also takes well calculated long shots , he is also good in taking free kicks. He was not a bad defender too.Why wasn't he given a chance like Awaziem? Awaziem was also not so spectacular as a defender in GWG at the beginning. Simon Moses did a lot of work covering his angle in the match against Guinea.

Why was Musa Mohammed abandoned? Had we included him all these while, he would have evolved into our set-piece taker by now. Free kicks, alone, win matches. I feel sad when I remember how we jettisoned Musa Muhammad and the likes. These are hungry players.

Someone would say; National team is not a place for grooming players. I ask you: What has the European Groomed players brought you? What we need are talented players that are hungry for success.
