Austine2020: Go and have your baby in the USA, Dont let anyone kill your moral,No one is God. Everyone has his own luck, because when u travel as family the CBP officer might not have the time to ask u about all those questions before stamping u in,because it has happened to a lot of people here that got in without much questions even with their big stomach.. Just have a good cash with U,if possible borrow and add it,then arm yourself with necessary documents as said in this forum and travel. Dont miss your opportunity because people said so. U will tell the CBP that your family is there for vacation while u stay back to have your baby, simple as that. People has traveled with faith when the VO's tell them not to do so because their visa has been cancelled and they still travel with their Oral cancelled visa & still went in. So dont lose hope and let no one play as your God,Pray to your God and embark on your journey and i know u will be successful and come here to thank me later,Dont be afraid,.Good Luck I dont understand the correlation of encouraging someone to lie and at the same time Pray to God.... which God please? She already concealed her pregnancy status when she had the opportunity, and all you have to do is encourage her to lie and then you mention Faith and God. She was given visa for vacation, and you are not even looking at a soft landing for her, you are encouraging her to continue with the path. Its unfortunate, you will not be in her shoe when she is facing the challenges or consequences of her action. And stop mentioning God. You have to do all things in a right and just manner all the time No matter you what your response is to me, It pays to always do what is right and just. You will just be free within you. TWood, over to you....lol.... |

Shawbabe: Oh and ssn they told will take 10 days. I think it came like 5 days later. All this is possible if you're in a city with fast process. This was part of my choice for still sticking with Atl this time around. Oh and I forgot to mention, I opted for an induction at 38 weeks coz I was tired of waiting for nature lol . So it helped me plan accordingly coz I already knew when baby will arrive. But this is me oh....I'm weird like that. Thank you so much for your prompt response. i really do appreciate you so much for it and God bless you. I planned leaving with DW and LO 3 weeks after child birth but at the moment we are one day behind schedule as LO is yet to arrive as expected |

TWoods: I guess she'll be hoping for favor too... whatever the heck that means. I wonder why people will conceal information to get VISA and be expecting favour. If eventually she is successful in get thru to the POE with her non disclosure state... she will go ahead to give testimony of the goodness and favour of God. Please just do whats right.... Have you child in Nigeria and travel to the US for vacation later (best option). Note: To intentionally conceal certain information is regarded as a criminal act. ordinary false information on birth certificate application can send someone to 2 to 10 years prison term (see attachment). Please lets try to be sincere and truthful. It pays eventually.

Shawbabe: It's not 2 weeks. Most airlines accept from 7 days old. I travelled with mine at 1 week +. Call your airline and find out their own policy. It's not all questions that people know here so u don't sit and be waiting for 2 weeks if u need to leave. Also most pediatricians advice 7 days too. This is very handy information at the moment as I have been worried and concerned Please is it possible to get all documentations(birth certificate, SSN, And Passport) done within one week after birth? thank you |

Please experience papas and mamas that used Oakbend and Dr E, I have a few questions about Pead you used. 1. Did you use Pead provided by Oakbend or Personally arrange pead allowed by oakbend medical center? 2. what was the cost for pead recommended by oakbend? 3. Finally, I need recommendation of Paediatrician close to Fresno or pearland? |

kemex: Thanks. I posted the transcript here. Only few people reacted to it. The second denial was so gross. She didn't give any reason. Seemed like the consular officer did not just like the idea of a birthing trip. At the third interview, I was asked about my hubby, if I'll be needing help and if i have a family in Texas. The VO sounded like it's not realistic to stay in an extended stay apartment for the long period of a birthing trip and as if one must definitely need help. Guess after checking my denial history, she just felt enabled to deny me.
Mbok, if you're using Dr Para Ti, kindly contact me. Thanks. Sorry about the denial, you can give it a try again if there is still time before the EDD. But if you are bent on getting your money from Dr Para Ti, you can PM me or send me a mail. |

What can you advise? Though I will be going with her to return after a week.
Also is there anyone that can give info about accommodation, she will be using oakbend hospital? Also does anyone has information about Precious Cedar Mothercare, I was told they give care to pregnant mothers, accommodation, etc.
I will be very glad to hear from you. we have similar situation. i came in with DW through Houston POE. you can read my transcript with the CBP. no issues at all. Just pray for favour. |

Its good to always learn alot from this wonderful people here. This missionary journey bonds
Travelled to Houston with DW and 22 months old daughter with one stop at Amsterdam (4 hours layover). Flight was good and great but dollar search was so so crazy and discouraging. Evenntually was able to get few dollars and 2000 Euro.
At POE (spent about 4minutes)
CBP: Passport please ( handed over the passport to him) US: Good afternoon CBP: why are you here? DH: for Visiting and child birth. CBP: who are you visiting DH: A collegue named ........... CBP: Why do you wanna have baby here in the US? DH: Better health care due to previous experience and other benefits attached CBP: can you afford the bills DH: Yes CBP: where do you work DH: I work for .............. CBP: how much do you have here? DH: about 4500 in dollars and 2000 in euro CBP: Sure that will be enough DH: expecting some money order and western union transfer CBP: How long will you be staying? DH: 10 weeks CBP: Welcome to the united state (stamped us in till July 2017) US: Thank you.
(that was all, money was not counted, no futher questioning.)
went for our luggages and was directed to the agric section, all food passed through except for Indomie noddles (onion flavour) never knew the onion flavour had chicken flavour writen on it.
Thank God for this successful part of the MJ..... and thanks to all those who helped with this preparation.
presently at Fresno area and planning to use Oakbend and Dr Ezekiel ( any one in the house with the same mission hospital and doctor).
Thank you all. |

I am surprise such a being-to has no gentlemanly character to run a happy home. The wife face look hardened. Is she also a stubborn woman?
The couple should go and learn and apply what the bible says about marriage.
It is a sad world we are living in as many young men and women are looking for husband and wife they find it difficult to get a partner. Those already married are looking for exit doors out of their failed marriage. One man meat is another man's poison.

To Open a bank account in USA. I copied this from a nairaland page, Its not based on my personal experience but i believe some one will learn from it. #COPIED I had the opportunity of having a good time in LAS VEGAS for 2 weeks for an international conference and vacation, in the course of me flexing after the conference i found out that carrying large quantity of cash $$$ around wasn't a wise idea not due to security reasons but for the fact that when i get into the groove i probably might hand out a $100 bill thinking it was a $1 or $10 bill, made the mistake twice (Americans are honest) LOL wink grin grin I deemed it fit to open a bank account. I choose Bank of America (BOA) because i made some research and found out that BOA is a better and wide spread bank across the US.... Stepping into the bank you probably think you are in a SPA getting ready for massage, manicure and pedicure... very cool environment with wonderful staff, with atm machines (Same machine) which you could either deposit cash into or could dispences cash to you... the items you need are: 1. Valid International Passport 2. Another Identification like PVC, National ID, Drivers license.... 3. valid Address in the US 4. Naija Address 5. Minimum of $50 6. 3 security questions 7. Minimum 4 digit security code 8. Telephone number 9. Valid email address After all the easy questions... they will issue you a temporary debit card with which you will go to the atm machine to deposit money into it, i recommend you deposit nothing less than $1500 into the account so that you dont have to pay $12 charge per month for maintaining the account or if you should open with less than $1500, then you should maintain the account by paying nothing less than $250 at one time monthly all to avoid the $12 charge. On or before 5 to 7 working days they will ship the permanent debit card to the American address you issued to them. Note the temporary card given to you is only valid for 30 days starting from the very day you open the account, when you get the Permanent debit card you can destory the temporary one. There you have it, its very easy. https://www.nairaland.com/2218666/how-open-bank-account-america#52626100 |

Me: downstream oil & gas company VO: your visa would be ready for pickup in 3 business days from now. Me: thank you VISA GRANTED Congratulations |

Thanks alot for the numerous nd unquantifiable experiences shared on this platform.
I stayed at Richmond nd my apatyment was nt far to Oakbend. I took a tour of both methodist nd oakbend b4 i setrled for oakbend. Used dr. Z, by the way Oakbend staff are soo lovely nd Dr. Z is a wonderful doc, even though he didnt take my delivery, i enjoyed all my doc visits wit other mamas nd d weekly visits to d kroger store closeby.
So to the bills:
Oakbend 2500 NICS 416. Stayed in d hosp for 2 nights nd 3 days. NICS counted 3 days. I got to d hosp on sat 11pm nd had baby at 2am sunday morning. Left d hosp on tues 7pm Brown&associates (lab) mother nd baby 126.25, was discounted to $75.75 Birth cert - $23. Picked it up at d countu office after 4days Blue passport - i got 2 money orders of $160.66 and $27. Passport office at d courthouse in Richmond. Got d passport in d mail box in 6 working days. Naija passport in atlanta thru an agent $205. Got it 2 days after Baby's ticket on emirate $91 No hearing test
Hosp, NICS and brown nd associates were paid over d fone with my american bank debit card.
I advise u open an acc wen u re there, made life easier for me.
I had excess luggage - paid $50 on one ghana must go bag dat weighed up to 32kg.
Enjoyed emirates flight nd d hotel accomodation
No questions/checking from Naija immigration nd customs.
So my missionary journey is officially over till 2018 by God's grace.
Gracias! So nice to read this... Congratulation... This is coming really handy. Thank you so much. |

Momo13: I don't know if this is still relevant but it might help someone else.. the American passport has an easier option.. All I did was call passport services and provide my travel date ( must not be more than 2 weeks ). I booked an appointment at the regional passport agency (washington because I stayed at maryland) . I went to the passport agency with DH and LO on said date and got the passport same day. All you need is proof of travel ( your ticket). Usually they would say come back next day or two but we appealed to the guy who attended to us that we needed to get a visa to travel.( we had the naija passport already oh,that was just to fast track things). I filled the form online ,saved and printed and took it with me to the passport office. Hope this helps someone! Very Informative... I appreciate |

I will like to consider Oakbend Medical Center and Dr Fagbohun or Dr Ezekiel for myself and DW as another option apart from Dr Morgan and HNMC. I called Dr Ezekiel but she was not picking her call, i also called the hospital (Oakbend) and the price. Please I like to know how else to contact doctor Ezekiel (if anyone has her email)
I already contacted Dr Glenn Morgan and HNWMC, which was what i presented at the Consulate during the visa interview but we will be staying in Fresno TX, which is about 1hr 20min to Houston Northwest Medical Center. So i need an hospital closer to Fresno at least 45 minutes drive. so the choice of Oakbend with Dr Ezekiel. Please i really need sincere advice on this decision from experience ones.
If its right to change doctor? Is the distance also a point to really note? Also Is FRSC tempoary driver's License accepted in Houston?
Planning to travel January 17th which is 35th weeks, hope this will not pose any issues with the Doctor, Hospital, POE and Flight (likely Air France)
Thank you for your prompt response |

damsel020: 2nd missionary journey finally over.
Mum Visa
I asked for opinion wen I applied for my mum visa, she was actually denied without them checking anything,so what i did was to write the consular on her behalf nd I also sent a mail to the consular that I have a toddler nd expecting a baby and I need my mum assistance. I also booked emergency appointment, I attached d receipt for Doctor and hospital, so the appointment was approved and her visa was granted with her saying d same thing as previous interview and they did not check anything.
Birthing I had my baby Oct 1 at oakbend and used Dr Ezekiel, dat morning I saw the bloody show and contraction was regular, so I called my Bro to take me to the hospital, wen we got there we were gisting so the nurse was looking at us like jokers, Wen dey took me to d room to check how many cm I was dilated nd she saw 4cm with regular contractions, she was surprised cos we were laughing nd making jokes, I refused to take epidural ooo and seriously it wasn't a bad experience, the only time I almost gave in to epidural was wen I was given oxytocin to quicken d process but thank God it ended in praise.
Dr fee- $1,900 Hospital- $2,300 B&A - $92 Pead- $335 Lab - $119
After discharge we used hope clinic on bellaire and hg6 for baby follow up paid $30
Picked up baby's bcert on d 4th from Fort bend county and booked appointment at downtown for baby's passport and was asked to pick up d 3rd day.
Thanks to this wonderful E-family, I used visa on arrival, special thanks to De-soul who helped with it a day b4 our travel date. My advice to others is dat ensure the letter from Nigeria comes from an email, cos dat was d only thing that wanted to cause problem.
Baggage
Hmmm, thank God I belong to this forum ooo, Egonne1 already gave heads up on how emirates delayed her bags and advised we snap our bags. funny enough I checked in 13bags, (Note: if u pay for extra bag on emirates that bag can weigh 32kg not d regular 23kg.) while snapping I gave up but one of d ones I snapped got missing and we were told it's in dubai and it will come d next day, all for them to call me that they are having problems recovering d bag dat I should fill d claim form nd all, I had receipts for all d items and pictures so I sent to them, and my bag was recovered 2 days after. Thanks to the picture they were able to recover d bag on time.
Me I don hang my boot o. I have learnt so much about this missionary journey in this E-Family. I will like to consider this hospital and doctor for myself and DW as second option. I called Dr Ezekiel but she was not picking her call, i also called the doctor and the price i was given was 550$ above what was stated here. Please i like to know how else to contact doctor Ezekiel. Planning to travel January 17th which is 35th weeks, hope this will not pose any issues with the Doctor, Hospital, POE and Flight (likely Air France) Thank you for your prompt response |
