It is caused by Hepatitis B virus. This virus can be contacted through exposure of infected body fluid such as blood and semen. The virus can live outside the body for years unlike the HIV that can not survive outside the body for more than 30 minutes. Commonly transmitted from : 1, Mother to child in utero 2, Blood transfusion with unscreened blood and blood products 3, Sharing of sharps and needles especially during scarification marks, intravenous drug addicts, accidental needle prick 4, unprotected sexual exposure 5, close contacts and sharing of tooth brush which is common among family members and in the nurseries.
If you have a spouse or family member that is positive but your lab is negative, kindly get vaccinated. Cure for Hepatitis B not yet found but the virus can be suppressed to undetectable level. Some people do have spontenous seroconversion. If you are positive, see a hepatologist/Gastroenterologyist or infectious disease specialists to manage you.
Hope this is helpful? |

Sportilitica: Really disappointed at the way people are speaking about Vic Moses to be honest. They are even comparing him to Kalu. Imagine!!! When did Kalu even join SE sef. We are so quick to forget people who represented us. We don't give honour to whom it is due. Ever wondered why he retired? Why are we like this? Same way we dissed Nacho, and the Chukwueze that is receiving praises now will be sacrificed on the slaughter table soon once he messes up. Vic Moses has his bad side but I believe he can add to the team. Someone even said he would be choosing matches. Least we forget, okocha was once choosing matches. No need to disrespect our former heroes. The newbies are also watching. No more no less... So apt You just put up what I have in mind.. |

joseph1013: THREAD AWARD 2018
We have all come a long way. We started this community in 2013 way before hackers descended on Nairaland to destroy the data. Some of us have been from the very beginning. I remember Tbaba1234 asking me then if I was Sam Audu, the football journalist. Apparently not!
We have a very knowledgeable football community here. Icon4s will bear me witness that we provide more insights here than popular Nigerian football shows on radio and television. May be we will start a football podcast or internet radio very soon.
This year has been such a roller-coaster for our football. From the memories of the loss to South Africa in the nations cup qualification, to a comprehensive qualification to the world cup, to the hope-raising performance during the world cup friendlies, to the disappointing performance at the world cup, to qualifications to the nations cup after years of absence.
I, for one, have not been as regular a commenter as in the previous years, but make no mistakes, people like us still follow happenings on our football and on this thread bumper to bumper. This particular thread has to be one of the longest on Nairaland. 5300 pages!
The impact of this thread cannot be overemphasized. We now have people in the echelon of our football paying attention to what's taking place here. Not too long ago, Icon4s spearheaded a Football Award for players in the national team. This award has been recognized outside of this platform, and it's only a matter of time before it becomes a national phenomenon.
So let's have a bit of fun to celebrate the end of the year in our own little way.
I will be listing out some categories and you are allowed to nominate the poster(s) of your choice. You can also add the categories I have omitted. This will last for 72 hours. The winners will be announced on Tuesday, 2nd January, 2018 by 7pm.

HIV screening with ELISA or PCR will give you accurate result within 4-6weeks after exposure to HIV. This is what most labs use in Nigeria. It test the antibody our body develop against the virus. It is very simple to use and available at point of care.
The other array of tests that can show earlier evidence of infection within 1 to 2 weeks are the tests against the HIV viral particles, though not widely available. They are test for P24 viral protein and HIV Nucleic Acid Amplification Test (NAAT).
You can go to Pathcare or Mecure Lab, I'm sure you will get a reliable test. All the best. |

CastedDude: Nigerians have lashed out on a football club after releasing pictures of some players undergoing medicals.
Katsina United football club shared pictures of Super Eagles goalkeeper, Ikechukwu Ezenwa and some players undergoing medicals ahead of next season Nigeria professional football league, and Nigerians can't stop talking about the poor medical facility and service from the club.
See the reactions below.
Meanwhile, Ezenwa who left Enyimba of Aba, Abia state at the end of last year after his one-year contract with the Club ended - completed his medicals on Thursday, before signing all the necessary paper works with the Changi Boys (Katsina United) ahead of the new season.
Ezenwa was part of the Super Eagles team to the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia but didn’t not make any appearance on the pitch.
See more; https://www.nationalhelm.co/2018/12/katsina-united-football-club-releases-pictures-of-players-undergoing-medicals.html Why not doing these ECGs on a good couch not this horrible looking matterase.. Their medical is not complete without a stress ECG and ECHO...at least FMC Katsina has a good cardiology unit where these tests can be done. |

TheGoodJoe: Thank you for this. It takes a foreigner to point this out while a lot of Nigerians spend time castigating instead of noting the challenges the young man is facing because of the system he is playing in.
If I was the one who stated this, many would be attacking me. I agree with you jare.. Leicester midfielders are not really creating a lot of scoring opportunities for their strikers. We all can testify how great Vardy is banging goals every weekends In another news, Samuel Eduok was on target for Kasimpasa tonight in their 4-1win over M. Belediyespor |
