In 1983 after after Buhari overthrew the government of Shagari he labeled many people close to him as criminals and accused them of embezzlement.

Umaru Dikko was one of those people and he fled to the UK as a result. The Nigerian government then planned with Isreal to kidnap him and make him "stand trial".

They brought in several Nigerians and Israelis posing as activists then also called in a Nigerian Airways plane to carry "diplomatic baggage". Of course they were caught and many involved were arrested. This strained relations between Nigeria and the UK as they expelled diplomats and placed travel restrictions on Nigeria.

The Nigerian govt demanded that CNN stick to basic journalist standards and produce evidence of their claims.

Now they are all retracting and apologising, from UN to CNN.

We also need Amnesty International to make their own retraction.

They were among the loudest accusers, with zero evidence.

But CNN, DJ Switch, Aisha Yesufu, and all these funny characters seem to have been deployed to instigate Nigerians against constituted order.

Are they trying to destablize the country?

They won't succeed.
