ADVERTISING There have been 14,459 confirmed cases, the ministry said in a statement. It said 1,525 people were in severe condition out of the 6,172 who were currently in hospital. Half the severe cases were people aged under 60. The spike came as the country experienced the fifth day of a lockdown, with around 100,000 police and gendarmes deployed across the country to enforce the new measures, with people only allowed to leave home for officially sanctioned reasons such as going to work, shopping for necessities or getting medical treatment. The fast-spreading disease that jumped from animals to humans in China has now infected 297,090 people across the world and caused 12,755 deaths, according to Johns Hopkins University, triggering emergency lockdowns and injections of cash unseen since World War Two.

The Argentina international becomes the third Bianconeri player to test positive for the virus as the outbreak worsens in Italy. Juventus forward Paulo Dybala has confirmed he and his girlfriend Oriana Sabatin have tested positive for coronavirus, though he says neither of them are displaying any symptoms. The Argentina international was tested for the disease last week and is currently self-isolating at home. "Hi everyone, I just wanted to inform you that we have received the results for the Covid-19 test and both Oriana and I have tested positive," Dybala posted on Twitter. |

With the coronavirus sweeping through Northern Italy, in Napoli things were very different as the Neapolitans seemed more concerned with the arrival of Lionel Messi in their city than the possible pandemic. Beyond some talk in bars over the city, with the news on in the background, references to the outbreak were scarce. There was a carefree attitude which became apparent later in the Stadio San Paolo. Masks which are now common in the north, were scarce in Napoli and not many of the 50,000 fans who packed into the stadium had them on. However, even with the seeming lack of worry, there were plenty of people looking to profit from the situation as there were plenty of masks for sale outside the ground, though no one took too much notice.

Barcelona had to pay for their 1-1 draw away to Napoli on Tuesday, leaving Italy with two suspensions and another injury. Quique Setien's problems keep worsening, with Sergio Busquets and Arturo Vidal out of the second leg. The suspensions put Barcelona in a tough situation ahead of welcoming Napoli to the Camp Nou, though they're hopeful that Jordi Alba and Sergi Roberto will have returned by then. But the worst news is that Gerard Pique was lost to injury late on. The centre back went off with an ankle injury late on and he's now at risk of missing out on this coming weekend's Clasico with Real Madrid.
