Happy new year mama's ,my 15 months old son is always having running nose coupled with cough like every month,am tired of administering drugs all d time.don't know what I can give him to boost his immune system so as to stop the running nose/cough cos vitamin c is not working for him.pls help mums.thanks

sorry about that. My son experienced same for a long time till i took my leave and ALWAYS bathed him with hot water and sometimes put silverbird in his bathing water too. I then came to the logical conclusion that my nanny bathes him with lukewarm water hence the catarrh, cough and congested chest all the time All in all, give him immune boosting foods as another momma suggested and bathe him with hot water and it will hopefully pass. New mothers come here for honest help but when you act all judgemental and sanctimonious they will be scared to ask questions. We are all work in progress, nobody knows it all. Even if you think a woman is getting it wrong or is mentally unstable or is suffering from post natal depression, if you are a better mum or have more sense, you should know better than to berate her like that because your behaviour will increase her frustration.

the way you respond to people or certain situations tells a lot about you, your home training, your background and interestingly, you mental status so that it becomes the proverbial case of three fingers pointing back at you while one is pointing out.

let us live and let live abeg or at least be more gentle and patient when dishing out corrections/advice

Some of us actually live in countries where we are accountable for our actions and there are family courts that won't hesitate to take a child from the parents. A baby here doesn't belong to the parents technically. Bring harm to that child and the government steps in, takes the child away and the parents have no contact till the child is 18years.

U "knock" a child on the head and he faints and you rush him to A&E. A brain scan or CT scan is done and brain bleed is detected. Which mouth do you want to use to explain what you've done?

Can't believe that you actually think it's okay to abuse/assault a baby physically and cheering her on that "it's okay" and "other mums" do it.

But if only u know what am passing thru with this my drama queen, u all will raise hand for be and a trophy for been the best and most caring mother on planet earth, my baby don't eat, a six months old looking like a 3months old, looking lean, she can put food in her mouth and not swallow it for ages, she will just keep it there. And for the record, I have tried all those blend fruit, even my colleagues do laff at me, I have to go to shoprite the other day to get all the good fruits baby likes, like kiwi, apple, pear, potatoes and the rest, I spent 8k that day, money is not the problem here as I and her dad have decided to give her anything she wishes to eat but she will put the food in her mouth and not eat it, this moment she will eat it the next she won't, for u all to see the many things I ve bought for her in the previous post means I ve done all what u have said, I have read and read all in how a baby will eat, I search Internet everyday cos of that, and as for giving adult food, I am also doing that, but she don't eat much, she will take one or two lil one and d next thing is water all thru. I love my baby so much as I have even ask and they said take her for massaging and I have done that, they said buy her multivitamin and my house have become a mini pharmacy that have all the multivitamin any one can think of including dynamogen. Oya those that said they have pass thru this kind of situation maybe u will tell me that ur baby will put food in their mouth and refuse to swallow it at all and she will pretend she is sleeping, she can sleep with that food in her mouth. Hehehe... I wonder how she learnt all that trick, I am not happy beating my child, it not a thing of joy that any mom will beat even her grown up not to say a six months old. And besides when she is crying she don't still take much she cry in a way that she won't still swallow the food like she is crying and the food is still in her mouth, have anyone also seen that or pass thru that. I have join this thread almost four months and I read everything, before I posted here know it has gone beyond my control. Thanks for all the response, and mind u am not justifying myself. She even refuse formular, I tried that one when ever I notice she want water and she refuse drinking it, the only thing she take is breastmilk. Can a six months survive on that and am a working mom. my dear don't be hard on itself. Im sure ure doin ur best and all u do is out of love and concern for ur baby. About the beating, we must all admit that we 'tap' , 'spank', 'knock' our kids for one reason or the other but we wont come here and say it as u did thereby making pple go all judge Judy on u. Hello mommas. Pls my LO is teething; four upper teeth at once, has temp is abt 38 degs but he has been interestingly very active and playful. We have been giving him pcm 3rice daily which keeps the temp down. Is there anything else we need to do pls? And how long will this temp thingy be on for abeg? Its been a week now oo

my son had the same in both brreeaassrts at birth. I was asked not to touch it and it disappeared wen he was about a month old. Pls stop massaging it or pouring hot water as its not wound. Best wishes ma'am
