Politics / Re: 2011: I’m Not Afraid Of Jonathan, Others – Ribadu by fASHCEO(m): 8:51am On Nov 27, 2010
1025:

@mr.official,
if there is anyone daft here, i think you are the man.
if you are yet to understand that ribadu is a joker. he is a pdp or obasanjo's plan B might jonathan fails to make it in the primaries or might the northerners brings more preasure than he can carry, ribadu will be used as a soft landing spot.
ribdau is nothing but a product of nigerian police, a symbol of corruption.
if you are not daft, how can a man who did not change his immediate environment(the nigerian police) change nigeria as a whole.
if you talk abt pdp's corrupt practices, there will not be any form of complete information without ribadu.
ribadu once told nigerians that bode george was corrupt but what happened afterwards? ribadu in 2007 told nigerians that atiku is a criminal and he has been indicted, where has atiku been since then? ribadu once bragged that 31 governors will soon go down, how many went down and how many are still relevant in our society? iyabo obasanjo was on the run under ribadu but what happened? andy uba's money laundary in the usa was tagged civil case by ribadu.
mr.daft, how come siemens scandal, harliburton scandal and other societal scandals that happened under the nose of ribadu went unnoticed?
the cecilia ibrus of this nation all existed under ribadu, what happened? the highest level of embezzlement in the history of nigeria was between 1999 and 2007, what did ribadu do?
N300b ibadan-benin expressways contract - tony annenih, $16b eletricity contract - obasanjo, vincent ogbulafor's scandal was under ribadu, how come ribadu know nothing abt all these?
mr.daft, u were daft, u are daft and u will remain daft.
the problem with many nairalanders is that they get involved in topics where they have nothing to offer and as such will resort to insulting others. what points do u have to make in favour of your ribadu? how can u exonorate ribadu from pdp's corruption when he acts his policeman role in excorting these corrupt men?

So Mr Intelligent, is GEJ any better? In what aspect of Administration has he ever been proven and exceptional. Will you rather prefer GeJ and his PDP corruption mogul run this country for another 4 years. Wasn't he vice to Alamesiya the then governor of Bayelsa state who disgraced this country in a foreign nation.

I know what i want and it is to see corruption go. Without doubt the only aspirant who has proven himself in this is Ribadu. Remember it is just what i want as a Nigerian.

What do you want?
Politics / Re: 2011: I’m Not Afraid Of Jonathan, Others – Ribadu by fASHCEO(m): 8:18am On Nov 27, 2010
What do we want more as nation and who of all these aspirants can deliver that. We are known in the world for corruption not even for having unstable electricity, poor education, low standard of living et al.

For me, i want to see us eradicate corruption more than anything else because we are almost guaranteed of all others if this is solely solved.

The aspirant that can deliver this just one single cry of Nigerians is my choice.

Who do you guys think can?

My simple question is, what led these scavengers to take such actions?

Until that question is answered, no one is either right or wrong.

I still can't figure out what people see in PDP still holding power come 2011, that party is population known for corruption and i don't see Jonathan to be different because lets face it, as long as that party is corrupt nothing good can ever come out of it. Even though i'm a Yoruba man, my pick is Nuhu Ribadu because he has proven himself and we all know what to expect from him. Not to say ACN might not be corrupt though but fewer corrupt individuals exist way lower in ACN than PDP.

Politics / Re: Jonathan Pleads With Labour To Suspend Strike ! by fASHCEO(m): 1:50pm On Nov 08, 2010
oyb:

as far as i'm concerned, NLC has missed it on this one

do they know the meaning of the word minimum?

minimum wage jobs are not jobs you are expected to raise a family on - thats why the word minimum applies

we also have to address the other pertinent issue- how many states can afford the figures nlc is demanding even in a society without thieving governors?

what they should be agitating on pegging is the maximum wage

i seem to recall wages of ceos in the wets have been capped - wages of our lawmakers should be capped and pronto

Well since the only way out that this government can get anything that benefits the citizens done is to hold them a ransom, we can't fault NLC on this. If the FG truely cares and increased ths minimum before the foul cry from NLC, we wouldn't have gotten to this stage. Our problem has always been leadership.

TV/Movies / Re: This GEJ Sef: To Invest $200 Million In Film Industry? by fASHCEO(m): 10:34am On Nov 08, 2010
hard enough, i support Mr President on this one. Our entertainment industry is a multinational industry already which means it brings in money into the economy from other countries. A typical example of this is the English Premier League (EPL) which sells television rights across all continents. EPL tv right in Nigeria alone is fifty million pounds (£50,000,000) a year, this means the whole of Nigeria contributes that amount every year to the British economy just to be able to watch the EPL live.

Though the president still need to be specific about this investment, i commend his vision for multinational businesses and industries in Nigeria. We need to start building businesses that will go to other countries to create value because at the end of the day, the chunk of their profit will come to the Nigerian economy.

Other popularly known multinational businesses are Google, Microsoft, HP, Apple, Blackberry(RIM) etc which are all from USA.

Politics / Re: Why Is Nigeria's Business Climate So Hostile? by fASHCEO(m): 9:26am On Nov 08, 2010

Best answer so far. The problem is simple: "WE ARE OUR PROBLEMS".
How many people sitting here will do something for their FUTURE GENERATION come next year, and go out and cast a vote in the name of Patriotism and diligence?
Majority will be glued to their TV, yet hoping for Nigeria to change and become better. How will that happen when 95% of the population have given up all hope and yet desire change and transformation?
Your vote doesnt have to count, but you never can tell if the collective effort of you and I can kick-start the change we all desire.
We should stop complaining and start asking ourselves sincere question such as: who are the people giving us these problems?
And you will be surprised to learn that they are people like you and I years ago. But they maintained that bad attitude of hopelessness and selfishness every single Nigerian elicit all around.
When was the last time you prayed for your country.
When was the last time you put your tribalism aside to support a fellow Nigerian from another tribe.
When was the last time you were brave and did someone for your fellow country man?
When was the last you felt proud and know deep within your heart, even if it is a small effort, I am an agent of change.

The hostile business climate didnt just appear within a single day. It took time. Our collective selfishness and disregard to values and rules. It can be undone, with time and collectively. It starts with everyone of us asking ourself, HOW CAN I HELP? HOW CAN I JOIN THE CHANGE.[/b]

We can start by organizing rallies to local governments areas with bad roads. People get delayed on Ipaja - Ikeja road everyday because of potholes the LG in that has refused to fix.

Epiphany:

I quite agree with the part about the mental deficiency. It sounds funny and made me laugh, but in reality, it is a serious situation. Yes, i agree that for anything to change, our national and collective psyche has to be healed and assisted in a carefully structured recovery process. That, my people, will not take months or a few years. It will take many years to come to fruition.

As per the other part - about the problem being from the bottom rather than the top, i sorta disagree with that one. This argument is almost like the chicken or egg debate, about which comes or came first. Reason i say this is that unless the top is willing to make sacrifices and lead by example, the bottom will remain rotten, lawless and decadent. Secondly, unless the bottom is willing to demand accountability and accept the change effected by the top, things will continually remain the same.

The argument continues. . .

Though you stated your disagreement clearly at the beginning, but agreed with me in the end by saying "unless the bottom is willing to demand accountability and accept the change effected by the top". This can only happen when the least educated/enlightened person knows the effect of a strong leadership at the community level. I clearly believe it starts at the lowest level then climbs up the leadership ladder.

General we lack a good leadership system capable of discovering and nurturing potential leaders at the primary school level. We need to start thinking and working towards building a leadership system and it starts from the bottom because the truth of the matter is that we are been ruled by thieves and cabals who are better off in jails, we shouldn't expect anything good from them because they can't simply give what they don't have.

I doubt if an enlightened individual who works and earn averagely will take part in this kind of activity. The answer to these kind of situations is simply to reduce poverty level in the country.

The both are based on the ideology of protecting self interest of each group. I'm of the view we need to embrace using what i see as "good or bad" system in our society where everyone's religion & ethnic is well respected.

Politics / Re: Pastor Adeboye Leads Special Prayers For Nigeria’s Sports by fASHCEO(m): 10:53am On Nov 07, 2010
Sports will be fine once we have more qualified leaders vying for presidency and a well informed larger population of Nigerian citizens to vote right. Everything boils down to good leadership from the top and a good leadership system can only be built from the bottom starting with families.

Politics / Re: Why Is Nigeria's Business Climate So Hostile? by fASHCEO(m): 10:42am On Nov 07, 2010
I believe it is as a result of bad leadership and lack of unity among we Nigerians. Unfortunately, it has deteriorated into a mental deficiency. Our societies fail to question its various leaders rather they are blindly worship. We all now live only for ourselves and family, the values keeping our communities together are fast disappearing.

I'm afraid that until we go back and start forming societies starting with families with strong moral values, to a community projecting these values, climbing up the ladder to the local government level then to states and to the highest which i believe is FG, we just might become a failed nation with lots of potentials.

As a young owner myself with employees, i know the problem isn't from the top rather it's from the bottom. So i believe a solution that addresses our challenges as a nation from be such effected from bottom to the top and not the other way. because if that is achieved, good community leaders will emerge, a reputable LG leader won't be scarce so also will it affect us positively at the state and national levels.

Deportation without borders, makes no sense to at all.

Until we adopt the "the Good or bad" person as a way of differentiating ourselves, i don't think we can have an end to these Boko Haram threats. Differentiating people by religion is just not the way forward we really have to get enlightened and pass on the knowledge to others.

Common, i think our women are wonderful and they deserve everything they demand this December, i acknowledge these demands have to wise though but generally our women are active workers and make their own money so apart from an extravagant keep up demand for the family, personal demands should be minimal.

^^^^ I doubt if piracy can't be totally eliminated but i'm very sure it can be reduced. We all have our various reasons for either pirating or buying these intellectual products, while some prefer to buy, some like it free though the later is most common among youths but statistics show that this reduces as the youths grow older.

So in all, as their is market for pirated digital products so also a market exist for paid digital products.
