I have 2 of my mates while in school whom were approved & we share same degree class, about same number of years of experience & both of them without Msc & one without professional qualification. Then another of our colleague with same everything + Msc & professional qualification yet not approved. I think only them can explain the criteria used in the shortlisting because there are so many contradicting facts.

GMB4REAL, I know a lot of people got approved without any influence but many people here will still not admit that they sought extra help at some point. Bukola Saraki sent names to Alasoadura Donald. Dogara sent his names, Nwokolo also did. Some senators sent individual letters. My senator alone forwarded more than 5 names. Kachikwu had his list. I know this may not be a guarantee to the job but at least it helped many to scale through this shortlisting stage even if they wont admit.

They are among those that were approved. Irrespective of whatever issues they had during online application, they are allowed to move to the next level (aptitude test). Whether or not that list remains relevant after the test or maybe a new list will be sent is what I do not know now.

but do unilag entry level earn below 100k? I grew up in academic environment (quaters), a federal college of education so I know there pay is above 100k for entry level as of today

I cant say about non-academic staff but a graduate assistant in Unilag earns a little below 100k but well above 90k after all deductions. I want to believe an entry level non academic will not earn above a graduate assistant.

are you saying Msc without up to 4 years experience is enough to be approved for EH? As at Oct last year, I had 3 years experience but still chose not to apply for EH following an advise.

Amen dear. Yours is rather surprising cos all my peeps who applied as environmentalists have their status either approved or rejected.

GT. Someone I trust confidentially advised me to avoid applying for EH although I have the required experience.

My ppl, i just called 1 of my source whom i meet monthly during Nigerian Society of Engineers meetings. He's a staff working in 1 of the field offices & who also is a union member (PENGASSAN i think). He told me that the aptitude test is likely to come around this July end or early August. He also said that in 1 of their union meetings with the mgt, they were informed that about 90,000 applicants will be invited for the test via SMS. Both GTs & EHs will write the test. He said they were informed by the mgt about serious lobbying by the NA members to have slots 4 their candidates & this is the main reason why it took DPR this long to shortlist & write test. Infact, according to him the NA members hav at some point threaten to cancel the whole thing if their interest is not met.

Thanks GMB. Truly, the politicians especially the NA have been on this since December last year. Truthfully, a list was sent from the Senate which I was opportuned to see a copy of. Luckily, my name found its way into it. Aside not having the 'no institution found' issue, God's grace and I think the favour I got was why I'm among the lucky approved. Because outside this, I still cannot explain how I got an edge with my 2.2 (although I have a MSc but I didnt indicate it in my application) over my friends with first class and 2.1 with same discipline and for same position. However, it has always been DPR's policy to employ a larger percentage on merit, no matter how connected you are.

2.2 here. While two 1st class and a 2.1 I applied for were rejected. Same postition too

the state polytechnic where I work earn above that for admin staff not to tslk of academic staff, so I dont see why uni wont earn above that. And I mean level 7 staff here

do you know Yabatech's pay is better than Unilag?

Here is what I observed for the experienced hire, I think you guys are "Overqualified" for them and maybe cos they feel where you are working presently is good enough. My observation though.

Madam, how can 'OVERQUALIFICATION' be a basis to disqualify an 'EXPERIENCED hire'? Doesnt it sound ironical?

I don't think that is necessary now my Bro. U know in lyf u don't always get all u pursue but all that God destined 4 u. Am sure it's going to be a waste of time & energy to dig why what happened happened, instead I rather prefer we keep helping each other in the house particularly the approved ones to pass their test.

they have started sending sms invites to ND holders while the online application status of graduates (BSc and HND) have started changing from 'pending approval' to 'approved' or 'rejected' respectively.

Actually it does. I have seen an applicant with the same course approved. Like GMB4REAL has said, only the authorities can explain.

Honestly I'm surprised too. Applied for 4 persons and they were all rejected.

I believe only ND holders got an sms. You are good to go. However, can you tell us the date of your test so we can extrapolate to see when ours could be?

Free tuition for undergraduates I guess. Postgraduate students pay nothing less than N90k and higher depending on faculty excluding obligatory fee which is around 60k+ the last time I remember. Unilag is more of a business entity than an academic environment.
