I remember 10 years ago, we didn't get the information on time (it was all rumours) until the evening of that day June 8 1998 when I saw people celebrating! We thought it was a riot, and started scampering helter-skelter! People rejoiced! So, drop your experience of that day, if you are old enough |

Wicked Mother Slices Babys Throat With Razor Blade By OWOLOLA ADEBOLA
Homicide detectives drawn from the Kaduna State Police Command are grilling a 28-year-old woman who allegedly made futile attempt to murder her day-old-baby girl. The suspected wicked mother, simply identified as Esther Abba Yayock, reports said lives at Majuju village in Zango Kataf local government area of the state. The prime suspect, according to a dependable source took a safe delivery of her baby girl and like a deranged woman made for a razor blade with which she reportedly slashed the throat of the innocent baby before dumping her in a pit toilet that is just a stone throw to her place of residence. Apparently believing that her victim was stone dead, the conscienceless woman was said to have gone to bed after inflicting the bodily harm on the newly-born baby. Sources informed that the matter took a dramatic turn when a good Samaritan who stumbled on the little child at the middle of the night while responding to nature's call raised an alarm that consequently attracted neighbours. A frontline detective at the Kaduna State Police Command told National Mirror that the cry of the bay actually drew the curiosity of the man who was responding to nature's call. Residents within the precinct of the alarm were said to have rushed to the scene of the crime for the purpose of performing a rescuing operation. The little baby was consequently rushed to a private hospital in Zonkwa, which is the headquarters of Zango-Kataf local government for prompt medical attention. Investigations by National Mirror revealed that the gory incident took place penultimate Saturday and that the principal suspect in the matter, Mrs. Esther Abba Yayock is a single mother blessed with other children. Neighbours who spoke with our reporter on condition of anonymity said the woman had been suffering from economic stress in the recent past. Speaking with our reporters shortly after the matter was reported was the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) in Zonkwa, Supol Ibrahim Gotam who disclosed that the matter was under discreet investigation while the suspect is in our custody. Force Public Relations Officers Assistant Commissioner Akpoebi in a telephone conversation assured that the matter would be discreetly investigated. Akpoebi said that nobody has the power to take the life of another. According to him, the law of the land would surely take its course http://www.nationalmirroronline.com/cove/article01What else hasn't happened in this world |

Nigerian graduates! Let's seize the opportunity this forum provides to chart a new course for ourselves. If you reside in Lagos, please make it to the meeting of Sat 14 June so we could make plans for the incorporation of the company fully owned and managed by us. It is a possibility we can't afford to let slip. Let's change our destiny for good. Life wouldn't forgive anyone who misuse or disregard opportunities (such as this). God bless us all, and a change has began. |
