If you are ebf... Then you don't need to give water, the right percentage of water needing is already in the boob juice

But if you want to give her, very little quantity pls

In general, it's not a good idea to give your baby water until he's about 6 months old. Until then, he'll get all the hydration he needs from breast milk or formula, even in hot weather.

Giving a baby younger than 6 months old too much water can interfere with his body's ability to absorb the nutrients in breast milk or formula. It can also cause his tummy to feel full, which curbs his desire to feed. In rare cases, a baby who drinks too much water can develop a condition known as water intoxication, which can cause seizures and even a coma. Water intoxication happens when too much water dilutes the concentration of sodium in the body, upsetting the electrolyte balance and causing tissues to swell.

The woman importing it says it has nothing to do with the shoprite store. On it I see it written compare to Johnsons. There are akso shoprite diapers and baby wipes. Its a complete range.very few people seem to know about it tho.

Why not buy Johnson's or aveeno or even pears.

Since you have seen a doctor already. Why not complete the dose of antibiotics and injection then see how it goes

. @itisettled, metformin is what's giving you allthose symptons. You have to eat very well before taking it. A friend that takes it always have cornflakes or oat at hand just incas she gets hungry at night and also take glucose. You know its for insulin so lowers blood sugar I think. So the need for constant taking of glucose. @jumayin, and all other mamas that have Af delay; ensure you have your progesterone check if you've not done so check as soon as possible or Start taking a good prenantal with vitmin B6 to help with progesterone(pregnacare). Confirm with your doctor please. Congrats

Hmmm... But if you are taking all that glucose, are you not countering the effect of the drug. I mean it's meant to reduce your blood sugar, if you take glucose to get it back up , how will you get the desired result?

What I will advice wit merformin is to start with a low dose (500mg), then work your way up as you gradually build resistance, the recommended dose to alleviate pcos symptoms is 1,500mg, you are also supposed to reduce sugar and carbs intake for maxim results @itissettled3

Where you on metformin before conceiving. If yes then take it till the end of the first trimester

If not, discuss with your dr if you have any worries. Pcos is not a problem with pregnancy

Her sleep patterns arent stable either. What can one do to battle those all night crying and completely sleepless nights? Its exhausting.

Do should b.feed, burp well and back her till she sleeps. At 3 months colic begins to wind down so hang in there. By next wk you should begin to see changes except urs something else

How do I start taking my prenatals again? Pregnacare tablet is kinda too big for me and I puke it immediately it goes in so I have stopped.

People have 6 kids because you forget. Mehn all the discomforts and waddling of pregnancy has become a distant blurry memory in my mind. Seems like child's play compared to actual motherhood.

Go and check her weight first and compare it to the percentile charts for her age. People generally like fat chubby babies in Nigeria so make sure it's below medical average first.
The sizing of cloths are also off sometimes do it's not the best benchmark

ve been to the hospital to see peadiatrician at federal medical centre. wat dey keep on tellin me is dat my baby is malnourished. u knw hw it feels to be given dis kind of judgement wen u re tryin ur best? my sisters i don tire. last week, i rushed he 2 d nearest general hosp she was admitted, and d nurses and docttor were like madam u dnt take care of dis baby well. i felt like dying. those harsh words almost kill me. jst tnk Good for my hubby. pls i jst need ur prayers and suggestions as well as encouragements. tnks to u all

Pls change hospitals if they haven't been able to prefer any sensible solution. It's always good to get a second opinion Anyways. If you can afford check out premier or reddington. They also have good pediatricians there

Are you exercising? If your baby is up to 2 months you can start exercising. Cardio and planks have helped me.

Also watch what you eat which isn't easy though if you are breastfeeding exclusively. What I do is eat fruit for breakfast, then beans which is quite heavy for lunch, something very very light for dinner. Drink a lot of water too. It's not an easy process but it took you 9months to gain the weight, I will advice you give it at least 9months as well to lose it

Sitting is 4-6 months. Be putting him down in the sitting position and put pillows at his back

Youghurt is 6 months but you can start other stuff like fruit / veggies puree

Thanks sis! That tummy down position at night, scares me. During the day, she sleeps on her tummy and side...but ever since hubby found her one afternoon, with her face buried in the sheets (she had turned her head and now couldn't complete the action), we have been fearful about night tummy sleeping.

The reason I said silent reflux is that she doesn't spit up, but appears like she is swallowing something...and soon after that, she starts to wriggle and arch and just generally uncomfortable...and it happens after every feed.

I would have said colic, but she doesn't have screamingor crying spells....just the discomfort as stated above. I was forced to put her to sleep on her tummy, to ease her discomfot....and she slept peacefully, only woke up once to feed and then a diaper change.....but I cant keep putting her to sleep on her tummy cos its not safe....i literally slept with one eye open yesterday.

Prior to me drinking milk and the start of this, she was a generally happy baby...but for 2-3days now, discomfort.

I know what silent reflux is. I know they say putting on the tummy causes SIDS but that's the way my baby has been sleeping since one month. She had colic and reflux.

You can start by putting the baby to sleep on his tummy during nap times when you can monitor, then based in that decide for night times. Just keep blankets and anything that can cause suffocation away

Thanks! I'm a huge supporter of no self-medication too...just felt infant gaviscon was like paracetamol that is widely accepted.

My first child never had it. She quietens when placed tummy down though...but she hardly burps, you can spend 20mins burping her and nothing will come out. Warm compress used to work, but doesnt seem to workanymore.

Silent reflux is not easily diagnosed, from what you have described it sounds like colic though. For colic, you just have to wait it out, at least in my case gripe water dint work. But she outgrew it at 2months.

P.s Infant gaviscon isn't like paracetamol. Shouldn't be used without prescription. It's not even easy to find in Nigeria anyways

6.4kg at 4months is not bad., download the average weight chart from baby centre to crosscheck

still refusing cereals and meds. I usually force d drugs down ni o. I noticed he's teething tho- felt it wen I put my finger in his mouth. if it's teething causing d stool, how long will it take b4 it stops?

Since he is teething, pls monitor what goes into his mouth. Buy teething ring and keep it clean/ sterilized. the ones with silicon can go to the fridge.

People say stools while teething is as a result of 'not so clean' things the baby put in their mouth to relieve their itching gum

My daughter just sprung four teeth and she had the slimy okro poop for two or so days but she is fine now, just fussy and whiny,no temperature
