Pls see a Gd pediatrician, I recommend premier specialist hospital if you can afford it. Infant gaviscon is usually prescribed for the milder cases. Your son's own doesn't sound mild though.

My own challenge is that my son throws up alot. He cries, he laughs, he jumps, he runs, he throws out every thing in his stomach.

i have been to several hospitals, children's hospitals, seen several peds, done several scans, xrays, uncountable antibiotics/malaria meds...

Yet i still deal with this. And yes he is very lanky and active. When this started, people encouraged that he would out grow this. But after 3 years ...we are still here. Although i am hopeful that this will come to pass. He threw up all though the night. Slimy greenish saliva with so much force.


After praying for him this morning... I feel i should vent here.

Anti malarial, anti biotics seems like a lot of drugs for a six months old. Was it a pediatrician you saw?

As per solid with hassle, it's completely normal. This is Someone that has had only one type of food, one taste (b.milk) for 6 months. He is ready used to it and set in his ways. So of course any other taste will be hassle, especially for a baby that is not adventurous.

Just keep feeding him in bits and bits. He will acquire the taste for it. I read on baby centre or somewhere that it takes 22 feeds for a baby to acquire a taste.

I started weaning my baby (with cereal and purées) at 4 months cuz she refused formula, it was a struggle too, some days one spoon other days not at all. But she liked water a lot just the way you have said. But now at 6 months she takes one puree in the morning, then cereal in the evening. All without fight. I am now introducing second foods like youghurt, mixed purées and regular food.

So be patient and consistent. Those are the two ingredients for weaning. Hugs

hmmm MSTIA spoke from experience, started the strategy last week Friday, it has been a lost battle for me . Its indeed mummy and nani fight, and Nani has so far won. I have been surrendering .... thought its an easy journey, this friday will not be a reality. He doesnt want to take no for an answer, he will cry, fight, brush away any subsitute infact na real fight!

Well, you can also go cold turkey. Shey you have a nanny that looks after him when you go to work. Let him sleep with her for two days (if dh will agree). What most people I know do is take their child to their mum or mother inlaw for two/ three days or go on a trip.

But then my dear, you can stretch it till November/ dec if you want. THat will give you the time to implement mstia's strategy....Hugs

@udoka, it's a Gd milestone jare. My friends baby just started walking two wks ago @1yr 4 months. Most Pple i knw start waking around their first birthday.

This waking up 100th times to eat, it's the boo.b juice that is encouraging him, once you wean him off it, I believe it will get better


My baby still wakes up like 3 times too, and also need the nip.ple to fall asleep. From what Iv read it's sleep association. That's why all these oyibo books discourage nursing to sleep
but I find it the easiest way to put the baby to sleep and also ensure she sleeps back when she wakes up at night since I'm not using a pacifier

I suggest you start introducing adult food

Mashed potatoes with well boiled Titus fish, amaka and okro, egg yolk, mashed bannana etc. else you may find it hard to get him to take them if you wait too long. give him what you are eating. Just make sure you go very very easy on the salt, pepper and seasoning, cook very soft, avoid stuff that have bones or Debone carefully, mash what can be mashed, puree what can be pureed.


Also trust your instincts and be confident in your decisions as his mother

Congrats to all the new bumpers. Pls start taking folic acid immediately even if you re not ready to start antenatal

@adorablemom congrats..2nd trimester is ok to start antenatal if there are no complications....but do your dating scan at7-10 wks for accuracy.I never had morning sickness, committing or spitting either. Folic acid is ok, you can buy pregnacare too


@mcgee..the dose in pregnacare is actually ok but you can still take extra if you feel like. Don't think there is anything like overdose. The cramps Re normal dear

Lucky you, my own baby is in looooooove with breast milk doesn't take formula at all. That's why I started weaning at 4 months. Spend a lot of time pumping or feeding. 10months is fine jare, if you pity him too much then you can add two more months and stop in dec. kisses

@chriscar. Ditch the clomid and use metformin alone. The combo doesn't really work well

Monitor ovulation by going for follicle tracking or buying clear blue digital ovulation kit to know if you are ovulating at all

Or try clomid on it's own

Any of those days are fine. There is no "da" for accurate result. The koko is to do it before ovulation, so that no egg is dislodged from the Fallopian tube, that's why it is done almost immediately after menstruation but before ovulation.

As per the pain, you can take a mild pain reliever before. But if your tubes are not blocked it's not painful at all

Do you mean how long? The first month I took it I had a 30 day cycle and ovulated.

Conceived the next month.

P.s is taken metformin with cloned for three cycles prior and still had looong annovulatory cycles with mid cycle bleeding. I was also eating clean and lost a dress size


Pls discuss with your dr first though. Don't self medicate. Just take it as an additional option to discuss with your dr

triangullar: I av used clomid several times but didnt ovulate. I was told i av annovulation and i hav also used fertilaid and ovaboost, didnt finish it because am very lazy when it comes to using drugs. I didnt do hormone profile because i was trying to cut corners moreover i dont have a personal doctor(u no how it is with all these hospitals) explaining the same thing to different doctors and they in turn give different opinion. If only i can get a personal and not expensive doctor/hospital, i wil realy appreciate. I am based in Abuja.

For me clomid and fertilaid dint work but metformin 3 times a day helped regulate my cycle from 44-60 days to a constant 30 days and I started ovulating on my own

You can discuss it with your dr.

P.s you can't be lazy bout taking drugs o!

Have you done hormonal profile? Have you monitored ovulation to know if you ovulate at all?

What drugs specifically did you take? The fact tht you are not pregnant doesn't mean they dint work

Have your husband done SA?

@opeoluwa I think fruit puree can be mixed with cereal o! To sweeten the cereal or to thicken the puree. But this is after the puree and the cereal has been given individually to rule out allergies and the like

Anyways valid point there. Mothers should endeavor to do a looooooot of research. The internet is an open book

If it's grunting it's normal cuz the respiratory system is still developing but take the baby to your pediatrician to double check

It's most likely gas troubles. Are you bottle feeding? Suspend it for now if you are, then burp the baby well.

When he is crying have you tried swaddling, backing, singing, rocking, white music. Etc.

Personally I won't advice gripe water or any of those gas drops. My pediatrician adviced against it when my baby had gas troubles but I went ahead out of desperation and my baby reacted to it.

However some people say it work. You can read both positive and negative reviews online and make up your mind.

As for the rashes are you rubbing oil on the baby's head? If you are stop it till he is at least 3 months. That's the no 1 cause of rashes for infant.

Firstimer: Hello house. I put to bed 4days ago n my breast milk started flowing yesterday. My baby poos almost immediately after every feed. Should i be worried. Som1 suggested i apply silverbird oil on his head dat the stooling wil make him not add weight.

You should be worried if your baby does not poop after almost every feed at this stage. It's absolutely normal (4-8 times daily). Better don't use anything!!! As the baby gets used to the milk and develops, the poop will reduce.
