IPT is traditionally done at about the previous time you took antimalarial. Anyway, my concern is are there symptoms of malaria or your doctor wants to treat empirically?

If you test result is neg. for malaria, postpone treatment to a later date.

@fearless07, sorry for the late response. I don't think there is anything you can do to shed weight, I will only advice that you eat healthy, fruits, vegetables, cut down on junk foods, you can also eat more of protein or make sure you eat equal portion of protein and carbohydrates. You may still gain a little more, just watch what you eat because its not easy to watch One's weight during pregnancy. As per the anti-malaria drug , just follow your doctor's advice, I have'nt been treated for malaria because the mp test I did last month came out negative and I am 19 weeks + 4 days gone today. Other mamas will still contribute, I believe. Stay blessed.

Good day mamas in the house. Congrats to mamas who just put to bed. May your LOs continue to be a source of joy to your families. I went for ANC today and the nurse that checked my weight said am weighing a little much at 20weeks. I weigh 65kg as at today. I weigh 54kg before I got my bfp. What can I do to cut down on my weight. Also is it safe to take anti malaria after treating malaria at 17weeks? I was going to be given anti malaria today but the doctor decided to hold off till my next appointment. Thanks.

Lumartem is safe in the second trimester.

Malaria should be taken seriously in pregnancy, because it affects the placenta and fetus.

Usually there's an Intermittent preventive (Prophylactic) Therapy. Which guards against malarial infestation at about 16 weeks.

In brief, treat as directed.

the earlier you take your malaria medicine,the better for you and your baby. you don't have to be scared because your doctor knows best. yes, lumartem is very ok.

U r in ur second trimester so u can take it.
Ensure u eat well and take lot of fluid and fruits
If u have doubt abt ur doc, pls get to see anoda or change hosp

Good morning house. Hope am welcome to the house. Please I have a question to ask. I was feeling a bit weak and stressed so I thought it's the normal pregnancy symptom. I tested positive to malaria( the doctor said it's +1 don't know what it means). She prescribed lumartem and said it's safe to use but am scared to take it cos I don't know if it's safe cos of some things I read online about not using in pregnancy. Am 17weeks pregnant. Mamas that have used it, was there any reaction. I am not having any symptom yet just occasional tiredness and weakness. Sorry for the long epistle.

Firstly, you have to be sure that it is yeast infection and not another organism. Secondly, make sure you do not have underlying medical issue that is causing persistent yeast infection.

If none of aforementioned apply to you then: miconazol.e vaginal cream or suppository will do.

Miconazol.e suppository comes in 100, 200 and 1200 mg. If you do 100 mg, then apply every day for 7 days. If you do 1200mg, then apply daily for 1 day. If you do 200mg, apply once daily for 3 days.

It also comes in 2 and 4% cream.

The Urine MCS and HVS are unnecessary if you do not have related symptoms.

If the bleeding is not so heavy too, you may do another scan at another centre to crosscheck. If the report is same, evacuate.

Good day Doc, my period is 5 days late ( expected on the 15th of july) but yet to see it. This has happened before but that was some months ago and the delay was 4 days. I and hubby were doing the withdrawal method because I wanted to wait until September to start trying for a baby. I had asthmatic attack on the 4th and 11th of july, ventolin inhaler didn't do much and I found it difficult to breathe so I took franol (2 tabs) on both occasion. On the 12th of July, I noticed slight brown discharge which I put down to onset of my period but after that day it stopped. Due to the delay I am freaking out because I suspect I might be pregnant and am scared cos of the franol I took . I want to wait until the end of the month to run a preg test. Hope the franol tabs I took would not harm my baby if am pregnant?. Sorry for the long post. Thanks.
