Nomsooooo: Good day everyone,
So I initially asked this question but I’m not sure I was clear enough , so I’m here again . So I’m a 23 year old I’ll be 24 in December , I graduated from university here in Nigeria with computer science in 2021 and i currently hold an IT role . Fast forward to this year so I applied to a school in Texas for a bachelors in Computer science as well with part scholarship and my Sponsor can very much cover my COA . My interview is coming up in July but my question is will it be a red flag on my path have that my previous bachelors degree was in computer science and I’m going for another bachelors in computer science . Please I would really appreciate every opinion I can get on this . It’s been giving me anxiety lately. Thanks in advance . You will be DENIED the visa. You will NEVER be approved. You just waste your money following agents lol. You for one, did not even show that you actually went through a school system. I don’t know why you people act like clowns. You have a bachelors in computer science and going for another bachelor in computer science, what kind of weed do you smoke? Cancel that appointment and go for a graduate program where you have a better chance. |

freshStarz: Good morning guys
If I go to the US on a visiting visa and during the period of visit, the school I applied to opens for the term, can I start schooling there without returning for a school visa
Is there a problem with this? There is nothing complex about change of status except you are new to visa terrain and US admission process. Once you understand the school system and how it operates you’ll be very fine. 1. Understand that most school do admission for Fall, Summer, and Spring for most F-1 Student. Also, know the timeline for change of status process. It is very good for you to familiarize yourself with the process. Now, let me reassure you, it is very easy. It is as easy as applying for EAD under economic hardship after one year of study and still get the application fee waived. Note: You have to understand well how the school system operate. Immigration application will always be complex to first time applicant, so the word complex captures those specific people. There are people here who file their adjustment of status to green card by themselves without any help- I mean the NIW visa program. Is NIW a complex application? Absolutely yes. But you have to understand how it works and the requirements. My advice for you is to go to the U.S. apply for school based on the one that would give you a good TL for you to apply for your change of status application. Check the school and how fast they issue admission decision. Make sure your coordinator are aware that you are in the U.S. and require a change of status. PLEASE STAY AWAY FROM OYOTUNJI AND HIS CROONIES |

MisMik: I want to know if we are to go to the embassy with our bank statements. Most of the transcript I have seen here didn't show that they submitted it and it wasn't written on the website as part of documents needed to be taken to the embassy. Secondly, if we are to go with it must it be the one we submitted to the school for the I20 because in a situation where you sell a property to boost your account balance. Yes, you should go to the embassy with your bank statement. It’s a proof that you can afford the tuition and living expense. 1. Do not present the bank statement except you are being specifically asked to provide one by the visa officer interviewing you. Doing so shows desperation. 2. Infact, do not present documents except you are being asked to provide one. Focus on answering the questions you’re being asked convincingly in a concise way. Don’t talk too much. Rarely will the Visa Officer ask you for documents. Not like they don’t ask for documents, they just rarely do. Visa interview can las from 1-10mins and it’s over. Most of the times it doesn’t run more than 3-5 mins. You see how limited time you have to prove you’re a genuine student? Shelving out documents in the midst of questioning will land you a straight denial. PLEASE STAY AWAY FROM OYOTUNJI, HE IS A CRIMINAL AGENT. DONT PRIVATE MESSAGE ANYONE ON HERE. oluezekiel: You can apply for a change of non-immigration status while in the US by submitting form I-539 to the USCIS. It costs $470 to file paper and $420 to file online. Note that you won't be able to start your degree program until your application is approved by the USCIS. I believe there's an option of premium processing (by submitting form I-907) for form I-539. Note that premium processing costs additional $1,965. I have included some links to guide you.
https://internationaloffice.berkeley.edu/immigration/changing_status
https://www.uscis.gov/forms/all-forms/how-do-i-request-premium-processing
...Don't also forget the 90 days rule. Although it's more applicable to adjustment of status but it's still advisable to keep it in mind. This is the best advice and a seasoned one. You can tell people who have idea of how the U.S. immigration work. Thank you |

IggyAzalea: Hi Olawrites.
Your write up that getting visa without funding is not easy is not true. Pls stop spreading the gospel of lies. Re' u telling us that the US Consulate is forcing fundings on all student visa applicants ? Your ability to cover the tuition deficit is the major interest of the consular. Once you or ur sponsor is able to display evidence of money to pay your 1st year tuition and the embassy can verify that u should not have any issue with ur visa.
That man Oyotunjiusa with few others hia have corroborated same facts. PhD prospective students re' those who actually have to agitate for fundings because they need absolute focus on their study n they have very little hours to work outside study. Undergraduates n msc applicants whose sponsor can display enough tuition funds does not need fundings n infact most int- student application usually ask if you need scholarship or not. Cheers. This is Olatunji’s other account. You’re a thief scouting for clients. STAY AWAY FROM THIS CRIMINAL |

@ObamaMessi.
1. Yes it's a shame for the likes of @Danburuwa, @fearlessfang. @Zihno and the rest of their gangs.
2. They have devided Nairaland into executive segments. They have groups and offices where they attends to their special applicants with old visa process ideas.
3. They will then be attacking the few people (like OyotunjiUSA) who are trying to liberate the thread on Nairaland.
4. They have misled many many applicants on NL. For example , that braggart @fearlessfang will usually ask visa applicants to not take documents to the embassy. He will also claims that you don't need that invitation letter and bank statement as if he works inside embassy.
5. Nairaland authorities should look at the activities of these old school characters . They usually turn all discussion into bigmarism and bigwomanism discussions.

benji93: Sorry, i am only commenting on the bolded cos it's the only sequence of lines relevant to my first comment to you. I am not sure you read my comment. A waiver is supposed to be a deviation from normal, that's for example you exempt some folks from submitting a document that would normally be required. Admitting BSc holders into PhD programs is normal in the USA. Most American PhD programs with a decent reputation do this. In short, getting into a PhD program with an MSc is abnormal. The question was about whether an MSc was necessary not whether it's the better pathway. That's a different question. Besides, since most admitted graduate students in the USA are BSc holders and their programs are on average quite successful in research turn out, admitting BSc students works as long as you give them enough time.
You may have processed over 25 PhD admissions, but you do not know better than someone in the system. Stop engaging that empty canister. |

1. Your approach of input or additional info is acceptable as a perfect human being. I actually thought the OP wrote that his J2 visa had expired over the past 48 months (nevertheless, i still pointed out some J2 expiration truths).
2. I accept your point that anyone can try to manoeuvre or be impatient towards various types of USA visa rules , but i want to personally challenge you to answer YES or NO for the general public to read ;
3. 90% Of J1 (J2) visa policies States that ;
“…. you must be physically present in your country of nationality or last legal permanent residence for an aggregate of at least two years after departing the US at the end of your J-1 program. “ Immigration and Nationality Act, Section 212(e). YES OR NO ?
4. But the section also states ; If you cannot return home for two years, you must apply for a waiver (which is a tedious work).
5. I understand what you claimed above but in all honesty. Will you kindly post that section that states that you don't need to stay in your country for straight 2 years ? I can't know everything. Just post your source , i may be using it for future references.

3. Truth is bitter , let's wait and read from the experts who will come and write otherwise. Say the truth about your current illegal standings in the USA. You cannot renew or extend that your J2 in Nigeria .
4. As a J2-visa holder , you will continue as a puppet of your wife (on J1-visa) and if your new Harvard admission is genuine then her visa benefit also extends to you except if you are trying a trick that cannot work behind your wife.
