fabianiyobosa: Hey All,
I hope I can get assistance here. I got my Bachelors in Comp Science in India. MS in Economics (Digital Marketing) in Poland. Currently working as IT Service Desk Analyst for an MSP. I would love to attend certificate course (20 Months) at Texas State Technical College. Estimated cost 17K.
Is this ideal or do I just apply for MS in Information Technology?
At the moment, I live with my wife and 2 kids in Europe. Do not go for a certificate course except you intend to return to Poland. I would advise you go for an MS IT program instead. You have better access to opportunities here with an MS. Also, why are you going to a technical college? Why not search for a better university in the US. Why do you want to spend such amount in a community college. You have a Bachelors and a masters degree, so why are you wanting to attend a community college? This is a huge red flag for visa denial |

Phraser: Hello guys. I have just been awarded a scholarship to study at New York University, to begin studies this fall. But here is the rub: the scholarship only covers 2 out of 3 semesters.
I have plans for taking care of accomodation, but my problem is this: How to pay for the third semester when the time comes (fall next year), and how to prove to the embassy that I can pay for the third semester. I can't even use my bank statement because I am not earning enough in naira. What can I do?
I would appreciate if you guys could walk me through this. Thanks. You can look for a sponsor in Nigeria that can issue you a bank statement. You still need to provide proof of funds |

thymetraveler: Omoh yesterday I prepared a delicious egusi soup, garnished with chicken breast, pomo, goat meat, titus fish, dry fish and okporoko (stock fish)--in addition to other essential ingredients like spicy (knorr and star), pumpkin leaf, etc etc.
Had a go at it yesterday evening and it was really good Then I warmed it like around 11:00pm.
This morning, I warmed it like around 8:00 am; I would have frozen it in my freezer but I was expecting a fellow friend who'd told me he would be coming around so I didn't see the need for freezing it yet.
Now, this evening, I just remembered it when it was already 9:50pm--that's the thing sometimes with remote work; one could get engrossed in it sometimes especially if it's my kind that has to do with coding/programming and code analysis. I just totally forgot
By the time I got to the soup, I saw it was almost starting to "foam", and I quickly put it on fire. After warming, it doesn't have the fresh taste it had anymore. Tastes a LITTLE bit sour and lacking flavour
Has anyone experienced this? What did you do to the soup (or what can be done)? Food experts.
Mods... send me your account number and I’ll pay for you to cook another before you poison yourself |

Does anynone have a startegy bear theae people that have made built duplex in the USA visa appointment page?
Again, i am looking at cancelling my existing DS160 and fill another form, can i use my current appoitment schedule with the DS160 i am about to fill?
I will looking to getting a feedback
Thanks. Yes you can. When you fill a new DS160 form, all you need to do it to go to your appointment booking and go to update profile, there you can erase the old DS160 code and input the new one. Save and make sure you print a new appointment confirmation. Also, you can edit an already submitted DS160, although you’ll get a new code, but most of the information you filled will still be there for you to edit. When you’re on the DS 160 page, Use the retrieve application and enter the ds160 application code. It will ask you for the first 5 letters of your surname, your year of birth and the answer to your secret question. A pop up will appear on your screen (print confirmation and create new application), click create new application. Anytime you’re filling a ds160 form, always take a picture of the code cos the website times out a lot |

Even if you’re taking Mpower loan, I will advise that you get a sponsor in Nigeria and not use it as your sponsorship. Damsel2024: Kindly advice My sister has a degree in chemistry , started working in the bank six years ago .Now she wants to apply for schools in the US.
Is it advisable to go for an MBA or apply for undergraduate nursing in a community college,as she intend to switch to nursing later on.
Will the undergraduate option favor her at the embassy?based on the work experience and school gap.
Or she should do MBA ,to prove hometies at the embassy She should go for an MBA, when she gets here, she can decide her options. MBA is her top chance at getting a visa. |

Keyin: Am already in US since two years. Just want my new spouse to join me but currently my documentation in the embassy still bears the name of my ex. That is why I am asking if I should write to the embassy with the divorce papers or move directly to retrieve my old ds 160 and change it without their consent (if it is possible bc I haven't tried retrieving ds 160 before)
document You don’t need to send the document to the embassy. Fill a new DS160 for your new spouse. Make sure she takes the divorce certificate and your new marriage certificate to the embassy for her interview. You do not need to send anything to embassy to edit. I want to use this opportunity to plead that you make sure that divorce certificate is original. You will Jeopardize all that you have worked for here if they find any forged documents in the application. Nobody can remedy this for you not even a lawyer. A lot of people are in deep shit here and they have their entire career ruined and have to leave the US because they submitted forged divorce certificate. A lot of people claimed married and procured fake marriage certificate to prove home ties to get visa. When they get here and need to remarry or get green card benefit, they needed to divorce their spouse since they claimed married during their visa application. Most of them went and procured fake divorce certificate from Nigeria. Also, know that they can verify any documents and they have Nigerians working for them and they have every means to verify any documents or marriage certificate. |

Keyin: Hi. My name is Mark. I got married in 2019, and the marriage didn't progress, and we finally went to our separate ways, although without court pronouncing the marriage dissolved. When I got admission two years ago, I was advised to still maintain M as marital status, and that made me retain my ex name in the DS 160 form (bc i haven'tremarriedas at then). Now, I have legally gotten a divorced certificate after high court dissolved the marriage, and I have remarried this year. My question is, am I supposed to write to the embassy attaching the certificate to notify them before retrieving my old ds 160 form or I can change it (i mean entering my new wife details) without their notice and hope it will not affect me or the chances of my new spouse getting visa
Thanks for your expected responses Have you gotten a visa? Have you attended any interview? Are you in Nigeria? |

I don’t think it might be a concern because rarely would VO punch calculator to view the exchange rate against how much you have there. They just go with a rough estimate. I think you should be fine. Half the time, they might not request for your POF. What I would suggest you focus on is how to defend your reasons for wanting to go to the US. |

linsa01: Hi everyone,
I'm new here. I got a fully funded Ph.D admission at the University of Rochester. I'm at the stage of requesting for I-20, and apply for Visa. But the waiting time I checked on the US embassy website showed 134days. This is extremely late for me as my resumption date is August. In fact, I can't raise the visa and SEVIS fees until April ending. Pls, how do I go about this.
Also, do I need to secure accommodation in my school before filling out the i-160?
Lastly, must I have any specific amount in my account as PoF? I will also appreciate if I can join any US F1 visa group. Thank you for your anticipated responses you don’t need you secure an accommodation before filing out your DS160. You can use the address in your I-20 (school official). People here have a way of searching for dates for visa interview appointment. Request for your I-20, start filling your DS-160, pay your visa fee and start searching for date. You can pay your Sevis fee 2 weeks to your interview. If your Sevis fee is paid through western Union, you’ll get a confirmation same day. So you don’t have to worry about it for now. Focus on getting your I-20, paying your visa fee and filling your ds160. Note that you don’t have to complete your ds160 same day. You have 30 days to complete it. You only need the ds160 code to book your visa appointment. For proof of funds, did you get any assistantship? If yes, a reasonable amount for your flight and accommodation should be fine. If no, then you’ll have to show more that you can fund your study. |

I agree with you that the OP has to really consider what he will do if his visa is denied before he travels to renew his visa. He does qualify for Advance parole. |
