charliejose: Hi, everyone! I need some advice. My mum passed away recently and I’m thinking of visiting Nigeria for the burial. My F1 visa has expired. However, I’m currently on OPT that will expire in May. I am about applying for an OPT-Stem extension. Is it advisable to go to Canada for a visa renewal at this time as I have only 3 months left on my current EAS card? Has anyone been in this situation? This is a very painful situation. My sincere condolence on the loss of your mum. If your visa renewal is denied what would you do? Do you have any plans? If you had more time, I would first advice you apply for Advance Parole (I-131)- this would cost you $575 to file since you already have a valid biometrics. This is a very serious situation and I wouldn't advice going to apply for a visa as your extension is still pending. |

SMBH: Good morning.
Please I requested for an updated i20 to reflect my program start date but I yet to get the document. I'd like to ask these two questions 1. Can I use the old i20 for the Interview 2. If not, what is the minimum amount of days before appointment to reschedule. Is your program start date for Fall, 2024? What date is on the I-20 you currently have? |

ernhiee: applied to Information systems...gotten admission but no funding yet Great. They usually have atleast 19 GA offers yearly and they award most in the Fall semester. Keep your fingers crossed. Also, you can apply for GA openings in other departments as well. |

You elected criminals as your leader and you are here complaining that criminality is ravaging the country. What kind of level of idiocy could this be?
Stop being a coward coming online to rant, go and look for how you would mobilize 25% of Nigerians and hit the streets of Nigeria.
Continue to wail, your sufferings are just starting. The sufferings that is hovering around you, the day it finally makes a huge fall, Somalia will be better than Nigeria. Meanwhile, have it at heart that naira to dollar will stand at N3000 before July, 2024. |

I'm seeking assistance, and I've already checked Google for information. Please recommend a reputable school where the cost of an MBA is below $40,000.

JungleboyT: Any PhD or Masters Economics applicant to these schools? If any, let's link up.
West Virginia University? University of Maine? Western Illinois University?
I'm keeping my fingers crossed for decisions very soon.
Again, I would like to ask about the possibility of getting a PhD Economics through B.Sc degree in Economics from Nigeria. People often say that Economics in Nigerian Universities ain't quantitative and mathematical enough compared to Ghana and South Africa.
So I would like to know if you've seen any Nigerian who obtained PhD admission in Economics in the USA through his/her B.Sc degree in Economics
Note: I'm not disputing my chances though, I have a first class degree in Economics, a very good recommendation letter, 333 in GRE (170 in Quantitative, 163 in Verbal) and also have three years research experience with a top consulting firm in Nigeria. You have a good profile and they are right about the course content for Economics in Nigeria. It is truly not quantitative enough. You would have applied to more schools. I hope that you land one of the schools. |

USAfall2024: Thanks for this but I don't want to reach out to my Profs again for LoRs. I will sit put and wait for the decision of the 3 other schools in the coming weeks. If nothing works, I will refire for Fall, 2025. This is my first trial and have learnt some lessons with the process even though I did everything in a haste (being a fresh graduate who just had her convocation December Last year). Absolutely agree. Getting another round of LoRs can be a little frustrating for the profs. You’ll get admits. |

Finger Crossed, I still believe my moniker will come to pass inshallah . If you still have bandwidth, University of Southern Mississippi still has their application open. It’s not deadline yet for Fall semester in most departments |
