PoliticsSouth East Itching Towards Presidency, Says Atiku by feddis(op): 8:47pm On Feb 01, 2019
The presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar, says the south-east geopolitical zone is itching towards the presidency by supporting the party.

Abubakar disclosed this on Friday in Enugu during the presidential campaign tour of the party.

He said that PDP had never disappointed the people of the region, adding that they would realise the ambition by supporting his aspiration.

He said that it would take a long time for the region to have such an opportunity if they failed to support him.

“You are itching towards the presidency now that your son is my running mate. Vote for the PDP because it has never failed you,” Atiku said.

The National Chairman of the party, Mr Uche Secondus, said that the rumour of the party ceding 25 per cent of votes cast in the presidential election to the All Progressives Congress (APC) was not true.

Secondus said that the mammoth crowd that came to welcome Atiku was a clear testimony that the state belonged to PDP.

He called on members of the party to be vigilant during the polls to ensure that votes from the region was not tampered with.

The Deputy President of the Senate, Chief Ike Ekweremadu, said that the PDP campaign was an opportunity for the people of the area to rededicate themselves to the party.

“This is daybreak for us and we are committed to the PDP. They gave us everything in the past and this is time to regain them,” he said.

Ekweremadu urged the people to return all PDP candidates.

The Director-General of the PDP Campaign Organisation, Dr Bukola Saraki, said that the state would support Atiku.

Saraki said that there was no more rumour of compromise by the leadership of the party in the state.

“This crowd we are seeing is a sign of commitment. There are no more rumour mongers around because Enugu belongs to Atiku,” Saraki said.

In a speech, Gov. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu State said that residents of the state had always voted for the party in previous elections and would continue along that line. (NAN)

PoliticsThe Economist Backs Atiku To Win But... by feddis(op): 8:19pm On Feb 01, 2019
he Economist Intelligence Unit has again predicted that Atiku Abubakar, presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), will win the February 16 election.

The forecast was published on its website on Friday.

According to the report, Atiku will come to power with a “sweeping free market agenda”, which may be too “monumental to implement in full”.

The forecast read: “A general election on February 16th is expected to yield a change in government, although the poll itself, and particularly the prospect of a messy election dispute, comes with significant downside risks to political stability.

“Our baseline forecast is for Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party to win outright, averting crisis. He will come to power with a sweeping free market agenda, although the overhaul that this implies will be too monumental to implement in full.”

Politics2019: Obasanjo Speaks On Threatening To Break Up Nigeria by feddis(op):
Former President Olusegun Obasanjo on Thursday dismissed claims that he would fight to divide Nigeria.

He made the remark in response to statement credited to him that if President Muhammadu Buhari rigs the upcoming presidential election, he would divide Nigeria.

Obasanjo said he is a “strong believer in the non-divisbility” of Nigeria because he fought for the unity of Nigeria and “spit part of my blood in the war front.”

A statement signed by Obasanjo’s media aide, Kehinde Akinyemi, explained that the former President, while speaking at a book launch in Abuja, said he could understand “the frustration and feeling of despondency by Nigerians who watch seemingly, helplessly as Nigeria is being destructively and divisively administered.”

The statement reads: “I read a couple of days ago in the social media a statement ascribed to me that if Buhari rigs the election, I will fight to divide Nigeria. Those who know me will know that such a statement will never come from me.

“Melancholic despondency is no option for us at any time. I believe Nigerians will fight back not to divide the country but rather to unite it in democracy and good governance and God, the Creator of Nigeria, will be on the side of such valiant Nigerians to get us out as He has got us out in the past.

“I fought for the unity of Nigeria and I spit part of my blood in the war front. I am a strong believer in non-divisibility of Nigeria, as Nigeria divided diminishes each of us who proudly call ourselves Nigerians.”

He said he was optimistic “and full of hope for a continued democratic Nigeria which will surely be attended with good governance leading to a great, happy, equitable, united, prosperous, secure and wholesome nation.”

Politics"Atiku Does Not Need Nigeria’s Money" - Titi Atiku Abubakar by feddis(op): 4:59pm On Jan 31, 2019
Wife of former Vice President, Titi Atiku Abubakar, on Thursday told women her husband is not interested in cornering the nation’s wealth but out to serve the masses.

She disclosed that with Atiku’s choice to back restructuring, Nigeria will be repositioned adding that Atiku would assist the country with his wealth where necessary.

Titi Abubakar spoke during a rally in Abuja at the old parade ground area 10, alongside Poeples Democratic Party (PDP) governor’s wife, Former PDP senators, ministers and other party faithful.

She went further that women should shun violence in the forthcoming elections and vote for their choice without fear or favour.

Titi Abubakar vowed to ensure the welfare of women, youths and children in the scheme of things when her husband is elected president.

Her words: “Atiku must rule. Atiku must get Nigeria working again. You know that Atiku is a job creator and he is going to engage most of the unemployed people.

“You know that Atiku is for restructuring. It is for your good. The Federal Government is too powerful that is why we must decentralise.

“Nigerian women are suffering. Atiku will give the women micro credit so that you can do your businesses.

“Don’t allow anybody to come and be giving you N10, 000. Do not destroy your children future. N10, 000 cannot carry you through 4 years and 8 years.

“The PVC they are collecting from you is a bad omen because on the day of voting you need your PVC.

“My women, I am telling you, collect their money and refuse to vote them. Vote the person of your choice. That money they are bringing to you is your money and your entitlement. Don’t give them your PVC. If you give them you have sold your children’s future.”

She went on: “Atiku is an educationist, he has businesses, he has done it before as Vice President and he is going to do it again as President. He was the head of the economic when he was with former President Olusegun Obasanjo.

“Atiku does not want Nigerians money, he has made money. You know he has so many children.

“All the children are not working in government offices except for one, who is a medical doctor and she is the commissioner in Adamawa State.

“She has told his father that he is not APC or PDP. She said she wants to work for her people, she wants to save lives and that is what she has been doing.

Socio-Economic Rights and Accountability Project, SERAP, has countered presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party,PDP, Atiku Abubakar over plans to grant amnesty to corrupt Nigerians if elected president.

Atiku said he may consider granting looters amnesty provided they are willing to reinvest their loot in Nigeria, thereby creating jobs.

The former Vice president said this on Wednesday while answering questions on ‘The Candidates’, a presidential town hall co-production on the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA).

But, SERAP , reacting in a post on its official Twitter handle condemned Atiku’s plan to grant amnesty to looters.

According to SERAP, the corrupt must be held accountable and not escape justice.

The post read: “Dear Atiku, granting amnesty for corrupt persons will exacerbate impunity for corruption in Nigeria.

“SERAP Nigeria will challenge any such amnesty if it’s ever adopted as a policy, should you be elected into the office. The corrupt must be held to account, and not escape.”

PoliticsJesus as a man was imperfect, and so is Atiku —Obasanjo by feddis(op): 7:17pm On Jan 30, 2019
Former President Olusegun Obasanjo on Wednesday said he did not expect perfection from ex-Vice President Atiku Abubakar, saying that even Jesus Christ, as a man, was not perfect.

He said he could vouch for Atiku, the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, to re-position the country.

Obasanjo made the statement in Lagos while speaking at the 2019 Island Club Quarterly Business Lecture.

The News Agency of Nigeria reports that Atiku had earlier delivered a lecture themed: “My vision to get Nigeria Working again.”

Obasanjo, in his remark, said he believed that Atiku had the experience, the capacity and passion to move the country forward, urging Nigerians to no longer find his support for the former vice president strange, considering what he said or wrote about him in the past.

He reiterated that he stood firmly by whatever he said in the past about Atiku and President Muhammadu Buhari. He, however, said the PDP candidate had demonstrated what was expected of a committed and sincere leader by owing up to his past mistakes and showing remorse.

Obasanjo added that Atiku had not only apologised to his political party and the nation, but he had also apologised to him for the past disagreements he had with him (Obasanjo) when he served as his deputy.

He said that Atiku was not infallible, just like every other human being; and that he (Obasanjo) would be playing God by not forgiving the former vice president.

“I have been called names because of my position on Atiku Abubakar, the Waziri Adamawa. Everything I have said as far as I have knowledge of Atiku, I have not retracted and I stand firmly by them because they are, to the best of my knowledge, true.

“And neither has what I have said and written about Buhari been controverted. If anything, they have been confirmed and proved beyond any shadow of doubt. But Atiku has done things which are absolutely imperative for a leader to be followed and believed.

“First, know who you are and present yourself as you are — a human being in blood and flesh and susceptible to human mistakes and human frailties. Don’t cover up with sanctimonious veneer of bogus integrity, incorruptibility, uprightness, goodness and false figures and statistics, all of which are contrived to deceive, to cheat, to plunder and to destroy.

“Atiku never claimed to be a saint and I never described him as such. I will never so describe any human being alive, let alone calling him a Messiah. On an occasion in the past when I said that someone was not a Messiah, some Nigerians, out of bad belle were up in arms.

“For me, as a Christian, the only Messiah I know and have is Jesus Christ and even then, the man aspect of Him was imperfect, while the divine aspect of Him was perfectly messianic.

“Secondly, a leader must be honest to himself and to the people he serves or wants to serve. He must identify and acknowledge his situation, mistakes, shortcomings and inadequacy; show remorse where and when he has erred, seek forgiveness and repent; and not passing the buck or keep blaming others and fail to accept responsibility.

“Atiku accepts responsibility for his mistakes, shows remorse and seeks forgiveness from his political party and subsequently, from Nigerians. He asked for forgiveness from me and, as a believer, a Christian, I forgave him in accordance with the teaching and instruction of my Saviour.

“For, if you forgive men when they sin against you, your heavenly father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive men their sins, your father will not forgive your sins (Matt 6:14-15 NIV).

“If anybody blames me for forgiving Atiku, I leave such a person with God almighty, especially as both Christian and Islamic clerics joined Atiku to visit me to seek forgiveness. Anybody who does not forgive when forgiveness is sought with contrite heart cannot be a true believer and should not expect the forgiveness of God,” Obasanjo said.

He said past disagreements notwithstanding, Atiku demonstrated great leadership qualities when he was in office as vice president, asserting his belief in the “experience and courage of Abubakar,” insisting that the Turaki Adamawa remains the best candidate to move the country forward.

“I must reiterate that Atiku is not a saint. Who is? But from what I know of Atiku, he will be a performer in all respects. I can say that again from my personal experience. He knows the problems and he handled some of them in the past.

“We now know that both Buhari and Atiku have issues, and all of us as human beings have one issue or the other in different magnitudes. But judging both of them empirically and for the task at hand, Atiku will perform much better than Buhari. And he will seek for good and able people around the country and beyond and make use of them to achieve his mission and vision for the general good of Nigerians and the country,” he said.

Obasanjo claimed that the state of affairs under All Progressives Congress had been disappointing and called on the citizens to effect a change with their votes. He also commended Island Club for providing the platform for leaders to articulate their vision for the country through the lecture.

NAN reports that prominent Nigerians at the lecture included Senate President, Bukola Saraki; PDP National Chairman, Uche Secondus; and Senator Ben Murray-Bruce.

Others at the lecture included a PDP chieftain, Chief Bode George, PDP candidate in Lagos, Mr Jimi Agbaje and a former governor of Ogun, Otunba Gbenga Daniel.

PoliticsAtiku Abubakar Unveils His Technology Roadmap In Lagos by feddis(op):
My Vision to Get Nigeria Working Again

Being an Address Delivered by His Excellency, Atiku Abubakar, Vice President of Nigeria 1999-2007 and Presidential flag bearer of the People's Democratic Party - PDP on Wednesday, 30th January 2019

I thank the Lagos Island Club for giving me this platform to speak to such a distinguished audience and on such a germane issue. I specifically want to thank you for giving me the liberty to suggest a topic for today's discourse. I had no hesitation seizing this great opportunity to speak to you on my vision for this great country.

However before I delve into this subject I need to say a few words on a fact that many of you already know: our democracy is in peril.

After unsuccessfully abusing the instruments of state to remove the leadership of the legislature, President Muhammadu Buhari has turned his sights on the judiciary.

The action of unilaterally suspending the Chief Justice of Nigeria by President Buhari is unconstitutional. The Constitution provides laid down rules for the suspension or removal of the CJN and this has not been followed. This is a grave attack on our constitution and the people of our country. As someone who has vigorously defended our constitution over a number of decades you can be rest assured that I will do all in my power to ensure the matter is resolved in accordance with our constitution. For a key part of my vision for Nigeria is respect for the rule of law, because without it you can have no society.

My preference for this topic is informed by one major consideration. It has always been my view that those who aspire to govern Nigeria must begin to unveil their policy priorities and their strategies for dealing with a plethora of local and national issues from the mundane to the most complex. Indeed, it is time for citizens to demand as a matter of right, from people aspiring to lead them, a plan on what they want to accomplish and how. Political slogans should not take the place of development plans and propaganda is a poor substitute for proper socio-economic and political agenda.

As a matter of fact, it has now been universally established that the ability to articulate a possible future status, whether for a private organization or a nation state, has been a vital component of successful leadership. We are all awed by the strategic prowess of Steve Jobs of Apple, Bill Gates of Microsoft or the Maverick Elon Reeve Musk of Tesla Inc.

Mr. Lee Kuan Yew of Singapore, Dr. Mahathir of Malaysia and Xi Jinping of the Peoples Republic of China, are just a few of illustrious 'CEOs' of nations because they were visionary and had a positive notion of development.

The lesson we all learn from the success stories of countries such as South Korea, Malaysia, Singapore, and People’s Republic of China is that economic development does not happen by accident. Their experience teaches that to be successful, economic reforms require a progressive and forward-looking government that has the capacity to craft a coherent vision and to develop coherent policies that will actualize its vision.

I have faith in the capacity of Nigeria to make a quantum leap from third world to first that Singapore, under Lee Kuan Yew, or Malaysia under Dr. Mahathir, made. We have the human and material resources required to make the leap and in fact, many of our nationals have helped other nations make that transition.

However, I also have reasons to worry about the current status and future prospects of our great country as neither our economy or our society is working for our people.

Sadly, in the last four years, Nigerians have witnessed a deterioration of all aspects of basic human development as our country suffered avoidable social and economic decline. The absence of coherent and comprehensive economic policy has robbed the economy of its capacity to attract investment, to support the growth of small businesses and absorb a fast-growing labour force. Africa’s largest economy, with GDP of US$450 billion, remains paradoxically, ‘one of the poorest and most unequal countries’ in the world. According to the UN last year Nigeria overtook India, a country with 6 times our population, as the world capital for people living in extreme poverty.

Under the present Administration our people are not working.

Unemployment has unfortunately been our only boom industry with over 13 million people joining the ranks of people without a job, which now totals 21 million. If people do not have a job they struggle to feed their families which is why 0ver 100 million of our people cannot afford one decent meal a day.

What is also of cause for concern is that the majority of the unemployed are young men and women, who lack not only the means to survive but any hope for the future.

On the political front, our unity as a nation has been fatally bruised. Social cohesion is being eroded, democratic consolidation being undermined, and national unity and security threatened by ethno-religious tensions, agitations, restiveness and disputes over titles and entitlements.

Over the years, Nigeria has promoted, tolerated and indeed celebrated a defective political structure. Our states and local governments are too weak to meet their constitutional responsibilities. Consequently, the Federal Government has succeeded in emasculating them and taking away those responsibilities and, along with these, the resources which belong to them.

The structure of our country is not working.

If we are to develop into a United, Secure and Prosperous nation we must be bold enough to stitch all the structural faults lines that have arrested our development as a nation. We must adopt a new economic management model and a new political structure that will cure all the federating units of their addiction to oil revenues. We must re-structure the polity and the economy.

So having outlined the challenges we face, you may quite rightly ask me: what is my vision to get Nigeria working again?

My Vision for Nigeria has been encapsulated in the #TheAtikuPlan which I launched on the 19th of November 2018. As I demonstrated in the #TheAtikuPlan, Nigeria does not need a complex vision. All we need, and will assiduously work to achieve, is a United, Secure and Prosperous nation that will work for all Nigerians irrespective of their gender, age, religious beliefs, ethnic identity, local government, state or geo-political zone.

Nigerian citizens want a Better Tomorrow.

We envision a New Nigeria that will have, as a minimum, seven basic features.

1. An indivisible, indissoluble, ethnically diverse but strong country that protects its citizens and secures their socio-economic benefits.

2. A modern, dynamic and competitive economy that is capable of taking its rightful place among the top 20 economies of the world. Nigeria has the potential to double its GDP by 2025.

3. A strong economy that is capable of providing in the next 5 years, a minimum 3 million job opportunities annually, reducing poverty rates to below 20% and significantly closing the income inequality gaps.

4. A Nigeria that guarantees citizens' access to economic opportunities and makes the basic needs of life, including health, education, electricity, water and housing, readily available and affordable for everyone.

5. A new political structure that guarantees freedoms and ensures accountability at all levels of government. Tomorrow's polity shall reinforce the country’s concept of true Federalism by conceding unfettered autonomy to the subordinating units.

6. A Nigeria that promotes the politics of inclusiveness and minimizes citizens’ frustration and alienation and completely eliminates the compulsion to take up arms against the society or fellow countrymen.

7. A country that recognizes the central place of the rule of law and ensures the supremacy of law over all persons and authorities. The Nigerian constitution will be the anchor on which the independence of the judiciary, personal liberty and democratic and other fundamental rights rest.

So that is all very well and good, I hear you say, but what will I do to actualize my Vision?

Ladies and Gentlemen, as you are aware, I have been in politics for a number of decades and have also been in the private sector running my own businesses that employ tens of thousands of Nigerians. Both experiences have afforded me the ability to think about the policies my team and I will enact that will have the benefit of practical application to create an environment conducive to economic growth and job creation.

Given your time, here are just 10 examples of the sort of and pragmatic policies we plan to enact immediately should I be so fortunate so to be chosen by the Nigerian people to lead them:

1. We will restore investor confidence on the Nigerian economy.

We all know that over the last four years, the actions or inactions of the Federal Government, have resulted in a significant drop in investor confidence on the Nigerian economy. As a consequence, there has been significant decline in capital importation since the regime came into power in 2015.

Today, Ghana – a country with just 14% of our population - attracts more FDI than Nigeria. In order to reverse the trend, our economic policies will be more coherent, consistent and therefore, more predictable by the business community. Nothing could be more threatening to investment flows than an environment that is full of policy flip-flops.

2. We will support the private sector by undertaking reforms to unleash its growth potential and to play a key role in the economy.

#TheAtikuPlan recognizes the private sector as the engine of growth of our economy. A strong, productive and pro-growth private sector is needed to create wealth, generate employment opportunities and help fight poverty. We pledge to improve government consultations with the private sector in policy design and policy implementation. We will work with the Organized Private Sector to identify ways to reduce the cost of borrowing, tackle incidences of multiple taxation and improve availability of foreign exchange for legitimate production input purchases.

3. We will liberalise the economic space and privatise all ailing enterprises. In particular, the #TheAtikuPlan will undertake a de-regulation of the downstream sector of the economy, review the PIB and privatise all four State refineries that operate at 10% of their installed capacities.. We shall channel the proceeds from the privatisation into a special fund for the development of education and health.

4. We will assist the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises to grow bigger and to be more productive. As we all know, small businesses offer the greatest opportunities for achieving inclusive pro-poor growth, through increased self-employment. Our focus shall be on improving their access to affordable, long term funds, provision of critical infrastructure as well as adequate training for their workforce to improve productive capacity.

5. We will prioritize Human Capital Development. Our philosophy is that people are the fundamental reason for economic growth. Accordingly, we will increase investments in the human development sub-sectors especially education and health by committing 25% of the budget to education and 15% to health under a collaborative process and within the 3G partnership;

6. We will create jobs by growing the economy and promoting innovative flagship job creation programmes such as: The National Open Apprenticeship Programme through which we shall enhance the capacity of Master-Crafts men and women to train 1,000,000 apprentices every year. Our National Innovation Fund and SME Venture Capital Fund initiatives will provide stable and sustainable long-term support to aspiring entrepreneurs.

7. We will create an Economic Stimulus Fund with an initial investment capacity of approximately US$25 billion to support private sector investments in infrastructure. Power sector reform will be a critical policy priority. Our vision is to accelerate investment to double our infrastructure stock to approximately 50% of GDP by 2025 and 70% by 2030. Re-building infrastructure and reducing infrastructure deficit will enhance the carrying capacity of the economy and unleash growth and wealth creation.

8. We will improve liquidity by undertaking fiscal restructuring and improving the management of our fiscal resources by:

a. Improving spending efficiency by reducing the share of recurrent expenditure and increasing the share of capital expenditure in budget. Recurrent expenditure over the medium term should not exceed 45% of budget.

b. Raising additional revenue by blocking leakages from exchange rate adjustment. The official rate on which the 2019 budget is based US$/N305 with a parallel market rate of approximately US$/365. FGN will appropriate the premium in excess of N60/US$

c. Reviewing subsidy payments on PMS. The Federal Government has set aside billions of Naira for subsidy payment in the 2019 budget. This will instead go into the funding of education and health.
9. We will build strong and efficient service delivery institutions for more effective co-ordination of government policies and for effective support to the development of a dynamic and internationally competitive private sector. We will re-position the public sector to become more disciplined and performance-oriented.

10. We shall, through constitutional means, achieve a new political structure that guarantees freedoms and ensure government accountability at all levels. Our political reform shall reinforce the country’s concept of true Federalism by conceding unfettered autonomy to the subordinating units (States and Local Governments);

So, in conclusion:

Since the return of the country to democratic governance in 1999, I cannot think of a more important election than the one we face in just over two weeks, given our daunting development challenges. The opportunity to change the course of history and rebuild the country begins on February 16th when Nigerians will exercise their sacred duty to elect their President and other political leaders. Nigerians must reject the status quo and bring in a leader who has a history of economic reform and political transformation.

Nigeria needs a leader who shares its hopes and aspirations, who understands the complexities of the development process and who has the capacity to articulate an acceptable notion of development.

It requires strong commitment, bold initiatives, and a discernible shift from the mistakes of the past, to lift Nigeria from the abyss, and make its people happier, healthier, wealthier.

So I appeal to you, as well as the entire nation, to go out and vote on February 16th so together we can Get Nigeria Working Again.

PoliticsBuhari Has No Conscience! Or He Is Not Ruling Nigeria by feddis(op): 10:56am On Jan 30, 2019
Because of his infamous ethno-religious & partisan bigotry, Buhari penned a rejection to Senate's recommendations on Babachir Lawal, the grasscutter thief who stole from helpless IDPs, but he is today talking about morality in Onnoghen's case?

Has he forgotten how he has refused to obey several court orders?
Or how he has refused to be democratic?
An illiterate shouldn't be in governance.

They know this and they still prefer to put us all in trouble just to enrich and satisfy their selfish desires.

Politicsleaders Of The Pan Niger Delta Forum, PANDEF, Middle Belt by feddis(op):
By Emeka Mamah, Enugu
Leaders of the Pan Niger Delta Forum, PANDEF, Middle Belt Leaders, Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Afenifere and Northern Elders’ Forum, NEF, are to meet in Abuja on Sunday to endorse the presidential ticket of former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar and his running mate, Mr Peter Obi. Sources close to Ohanaeze Ndigbo in Enugu said that the Southern Leaders’ Forum comprising Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Afenifere, PANDEF and the Middle Belt Leaders had earlier agreed to adopt any presidential candidate who promised to restructure the country. Atiku The source said that while Atiku Abubakar had shown commitment to restructure the country if given the mandate, President Muhammadu Buhari was not enthusiastic to do so, despite setting up the Governor Nasir el-Rufai’s committee on the issue. It was said that the leaders of Northern Elders’ Forum, NEF, including Prof Ango Abdullahi and Dr. Junaid Mohammed, had also pledged to support the restructuring of the country as it would benefit northers, hence their eagerness to endorse Atiku and Obi’s joint ticket. Spokesman of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Chuks Ibegbu, confirmed the meeting of all the southern Nigeria groups in Abuja with the Middle Belt leaders and NEF to endorse Atiku and Obi’s joint ticket. He said: “the leaders of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Afenifere, PANDEF, NEF and the Middle Belt will meet on Sunday to deliberate on the issue. Atiku says he will restructure the country for the nation to move forward and he has the template. “We do not hate President Buhari, but he has not shown any enthusiasm to restructure the country. The north has realised that even after getting more local governments and states more than the southern part, things are not easy for their people. “ They have also realised that despite the huge allocations they get from the states and local governments, the north is not developing because few people are cornering their resources. “We have all agreed to meet in Abuja to deliberate and know who to endorse. Ohanaeze had already done so. So, our own position is already known. We must restructure this country for the sake of the future generations to come. “President Buhari has not said anything about restructuring the country. Although he set up the el-Rufai Committee on restructuring, he is not interested in the project. He has not said anything on restructuring unlike Atiku who is openly committed to it. Atiku has the template on how he will restructure Nigeria and that is why he has our support,” he said. The leaders of Southern and Middle Belt Forum had last Sunday grilled Atiku on his electoral promises to Nigerians, particularly on the issues connected with restructuring of the country. The elders which comprised members of the Pan Niger Delta Forum, PANDEF, Niger Delta Forum, Ohaneze Ndigbo, Afenifere, the Yoruba socio-cultural organisation- Afenifere and Middle Belt Forum questioned Abubakar at the Abuja residence of Edwin Clark, leader of PANDEF. Abubakar, a Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Presidential aspirant was the first to appear before the Forum. Addressing journalists after the meeting, President-General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Nnia Nwodo, said, “We have been meeting for quite sometime. We are besieged with matters of national importance affecting the health of our country. “One of the programmes we decided to embark on is to talk with those who have expressed desire to lead our country to contest for the presidency. “We wanted to rub minds with them; we wanted to know their views about the things that are of importance to us so that by the time we finish the interaction, we will be able to assure ourselves which of them we think will reflect our aspirations and rejig our country and bring it to where our country men and women will like it to be. “By sheer force of providence, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, the Wazirin Adamawa has become the first person to be with us.”

With all this facts, it's still pathetic to realize that there are so many fanatics and literate that still believe in this sham called Buhari.
Nigeria is a sorry nation because of this illiterate despite all his promises of riding this nation of terrorists.

May God have mercy on those of you who still support the tyrant.
