The 2019 Imo State governorship candidate of the Action Alliance, AA, Uche Nwosu, yesterday said members of AA party in the state would continue to support President Muhammadu Buhari’s re-election bid no matter the threat from anybody. Uche Nwosu His statement in Owerri came days after the national chairman of AA, Kenneth Udeze, said that AA as a party had adopted the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar as it’s candidate for the 2019 presidential election. He also told the Imo State chapter of the party to key into the Atiku agenda. Udeze also issued a threat of sanctioning anybody who goes against the decision of the party. However, the Imo State governorship candidate of AA, Nwosu, insisted the party in Imo had “entered into perfect alliance with President Buhari to support his 2019 ambition of returning to power.” Action Alliance disowns Okorocha, Nwosu Nwosu maintained that no amount of threat would stop his support for Buhari, adding that AA members’ support for Buhari was above party or religious perception. Nwosu said: “We, the members of AA have decided that President Muhammadu Buhari is our presidential candidate for 2019 and we will vote for him as the next President of Nigeria. “We have made up our mind in Imo State chapter of the party to support President Buhari and nothing can change that. No amount of threat or blackmail can change our decision. The AA can decide what they want in other states but in Imo, we have made up our mind and nothing can change that. “He is our candidate and we are happy with him. Buhari is the next president and Nigeria will continue to be better and that is why we are supporting him with all our minds.” But the AA national chairman, said: “For your information, AA moved the motion for the adoption of Atiku as the presidential candidate of CUPP, and we are on it to the end. “On this note, let me warn all our members in Nigeria, and the lmo State Chapter in particular that we don’t need any infraction in our party. In fact, there is no room for that. 2019: AA, Buhari will sweep the polls in Imo -Reps Candidate “It is our unshakable/unfailing resolve to work for the emergence of Atiku/Obi in the Presidential election. We must not only be seen to be doing but to truly do. “I will not hesitate to invoke from relevant sections of our party’s constitution to deal with erring members no matter how highly placed, as AA constitution which I swore to protect remains supremely sacrosanct. WARRI – PRESIDENT Muhammadu Buhari and his foremost challenger, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, have split Niger Delta militants, causing them to speak in discordant tunes over who the people of the region should support in next month’s presidential election. President M Buhari and Atiku Recently, a self-styled coalition, known as the 21st Century Youths for Restructuring, threatened to attack oil facilities in the creeks if the Federal Government did not stop the move to dock the Chief Justice of Nigerian, CJN, Justice Walter Onnoghen, over alleged failure to declare his assets. However, another assembly of Niger-Delta militants, led by the Reformed Niger Delta Avengers, RNDA, and nine other militant groups, yesterday, said the former was working for Atiku Abubakar and warned governors of the South-South to stop playing politics with Onnoghen’s case. The 21st Century Youths in a statement by its leader, self-styled “Gen” Izon Ebi, declared: “Niger Delta people want restructuring and anything short of allowing our people to freely exercise their rights and choose leaders that will restructure Nigeria to meet modern and current reality will give us no choice but to stop the activities of oil exploration and exploitation in our land and ocean. “The current harassment, intimidation, assassination attempt, forcible dismissal and retirement of distinguished personalities and leaders of the Niger Delta from the affairs of this country is no more acceptable. “Our wealth will not be allowed to be used freely to run and sustain a system and a country that does not appreciate and respect the people whose wealth is used to sustain this country called Nigeria. “The six-count charge the federal government preferred against Justice Onnoghen by the Code of Conduct Tribunal bordering on false declaration of assets is another act of dictatorship. “This unfortunate action of the APC and President Buhari’s administration to intimidate the judiciary and undermine the rule of law and separation of power in our democracy is unacceptable in this 21st century. “It is now clear to all Nigerians that this administration is completely out of tune with the reality and situation we find ourselves concerning the 2019 general election and the position of Niger Delta people whose lives and existence are being threatened by the activities of oil exploration and the insensitivity of the federal government. “The 2019 general elections next month will determine a new Nigeria or break the false marriage held in the Nigerian state without the consent of Niger Delta people that gave birth to Nigeria in 1914. “We applaud our distinguished Niger Delta leader, Pa E.K. But the story is a sad tale against the constitutional provisions of this 13 per cent funds. At the appropriate time, when we get to the bridge, we are going to address this issue and the abnormalities will be corrected.” On ceasefire On the reported abortion of the ceasefire between Niger Delta militants and government, the group said: “RNDA with the coalition of the nine militant groups in the creek that accepted the ceasefire agreement with the federal government, on the 21st of August 2016, want to use this opportunity to re-endorse President Muhammadu Buhari for a second term in office.” It claimed that the endorsement was “to enable the president complete the good works he has done so far in the country, especially the anti corruption fight and rebuilding of decayed infrastructure in the country.”

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has denied rumours in some quarters that it raided the residence of the Chief justice of Nigeria, Walter Onnoghen.

Naija News reports that the social media was awash with reports on Tuesday evening that the house of the CJN had been raided by the EFCC.

Yinka Odumakin, the Afenifere national publicity secretary, had recorded a short video broadcast on social media Tuesday afternoon alleging a raid on the residence of the CJN. Femi Fani-Kayode, a former Minister of Aviation, also made the same allegation.

Reacting, the anti-graft agency described the allegations as fake news and “an evil machination by the creator and carriers of the news aimed at creating anarchy in the country.”

The commission also noted that it will file a libel suit against Fani-Kayode and ‘other purveyors of the evil news’ acting as ‘agents of destabilzation’.

The attention of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC has been drawn to the falsehood which has been spreading on the social media that the EFCC has arrested the Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Walter Onnoghen. This is not only a figment of the imagination of the purveyor of the fake news but an evil machination by the creator and carriers of the news aimed at creating anarchy in the country.

For the record, the EFCC never went to the house of the CJN for arrest neither was invitation extended to him.

Several calls and short messages received all point to the fact that the brains behind the fake news had one thing in mind: to act as agent of destabilization. We would not give in to their plots.

One of the architect of the fake news, Femi Fani-Kayode, was quoted as saying “Why have the EFCC surrounded the home of CJN Onnoghen and why are they seeking to arrest him? These people want Nigeria to burn! Buhari call off your dogs before it is too late! This is a democracy and not a Gestapo state! In the name of God let this madness stop”. Another arrowhead of the fake news, Yinka Odumakin shared a non-existent video which has gone viral.

We want to assure Nigerians that while we would fight corruption in line with the mandate setting up the Commission, agents of darkness, in the likes of Femi Fani-Kayode, Yinka Odumakin and his cohorts, would never be able to manipulate the people against the Commission.

We also want to assure Fani-Kayode, Yinka Odumakin and other purveyors of the evil news to be ready to defend their actions in the court of law as the EFCC will file libel suit against them without further delay.

Prince Secondus advisory came as he addressed mammoth party supporters at the freedom square, Oshogbo, Osun state on Tuesday when the Presidential campaign train of the party continued their South West campaign.

The National Chairman told the new IG that he need to carve his path and avoid everything of Idris because he served the APC and the cabals not the Nigeria Police or the Nigerian people.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) Tuesday denied that its operatives raided the Abuja residence of Chief Justice of Nigeria Justice Walter Onnoghen in order to arrest him.

“This is not only a figment of the imagination of the purveyor of the fake news, but an evil machination by the creator and carriers of the news aimed at creating anarchy in the country,” EFCC’s spokesman Tony Orilade said on Tuesday.


A former minister of aviation and a chieftain of the opposition People’s Democratic Party claimed earlier on Tuesday that EFCC agents surrounded Onnoghen’s residence in Abuja to arrest him.

“Why have the EFCC surrounded the home of CJN Onnoghen and why are they seeking to arrest him,” Femi Fani-Kayode tweeted.

“These people want Nigeria to burn! Buhari call off your dogs before it is too late! This is a democracy and not a gestapo state! In the name of God let this madness stop.”

The Nigerian government is suing the CJN for “refusal to declare his assets in breach of the provision of the Code of Conduct Bureau Act.”

“He is also being accused of maintaining domiciliary foreign currencies account which comprised Dollars Account, Pound Sterling Account and Euro Account which are alleged to be contrary to relevant laws, especially for public office holders.”

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), on Monday, appointed the deputy President of the Senate, Dr. Ike Ekweremadu as Technical Adviser to its presidential candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar.


In a statement by its national publicity secretary, Kola Ologbondinya, the party also named the Speaker, House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Yakubu Dogara, Mallam Sule Lamido and Senator Ahmed Makarfi as Technical Advisers too.

The PDP also named Lamido as the chairman of Elder’s Council for the campaign.


Other appointments made on Monday include: Alhaji Kawu Baraje, Technical Adviser to the Director-General of the campaign, Senator Bukola Saraki, while Dr. Doyin Okupe was named the Media Adviser to the Director-General.

Ekweremadu had been rumoured to be secretly working with the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, President Muhammadu Buhari.

But, in his series of tweets on his official Twitter handle Monday morning, Ekweremadu described the rumour as “cheap blackmail” and “propaganda”, vowing to ensure the PDP coasts to victory in the entire South-East region of the country.

Some hoodlums in the early hours of Friday, attacked the campaign office of the Presidential candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, in Abakaliki, the Ebonyi State capital and destroyed its billboards.

The campaign office located along the Mile 50 axis of the old Enugu Road is run by one of Atiku’s frontline support groups, Friends of Atiku.

One of the double-faced billboards mounted near its fence was torn to shreds.

This came barely 24 hours after the leadership of the group informed that over 100 women in its fold have left Ebonyi to Abuja to attend a conference being organised by Atiku’s wives for women across the 36 states of the federation.

Reacting to the ugly incident, the state Coordinator of the group, Chief Linus Okorie, at a press briefing, condemned the attack describing it as a ‘wicked act.’

He disclosed that he was alerted about the incident on phone at about 5:30am.

Okorie, who is currently representing Ohaozara/Onicha/Ivo federal constituency in the House of Representatives, spoke through the organisation’s coordinator in Onicha Local Government Area, Nnamdi Onu.

Onu said, “As early as 5:30am we began to get calls from people that our office has been attacked by some hoodlums probably sponsored by APC.

“We rushed here and discovered that some of our billboards have been badly damaged.

“We have made a formal report to the security agencies. Yesterday, we noticed some unusual movements around here. We condemn this act in its entirety.

“It is despicable for anybody to think that destroying billboards is a way of enhancing his or her political popularity.

“We appeal to all Ebonyians and Nigerians to be steadfast in their support to our presidential candidate”, he added.

So Buhari refused to call for Gandollar's probe despite the evidences and the thief deems it fit to try and probe another.
This APC government is very disgusting.

The National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Prince Uche Secondus has berated President Muhammadu Buhari and his party, the All Progressives Congress, APC, for trying to give a mistaken impression that they are popular when the hand writing on the wall is clear that the people have outrightly rejected them.

Prince Secondus said that the drowning party has been struggling to give artificial relevance to its image by trying to lure people and create some photoshop to give impression of a non existent relevance and popularity.

The National Chairman said that rather than leak the wound of its shattered image arising from an obvious squandered goodwill, APC has instead embarked on rumour peddling and buying of PDP leaders.

In a statement from his media office signed by Ike Abonyi, Prince Secondus said that its laughable that even with the glaring incompetence of the APC administration in the last 42 months that has put our nation in comatose state, the party still expect some body with sane mind to leave PDP and join it.

" When it happens that somebody had to leave light to join darkness, then know it that all is not well the such a person.

"Nigerians have been watching regrettably, a President and his party, that cannot embark on campaign because he has nothing to showcase indulging in Photoshopping with anything associated to PDP to drop wrong impression of popularity among Nigeria.

"Having failed to find a performing APC governor to flaunt, the party and the President allow themselves in name dropping and rumour peddling of having in their fold some performing PDP governors.

The National Chairman accused the party and the President of doing window shopping with PDP members to leave behind a mistaken impression to the public that they are relevant.

Prince Secondus also said that the PDP is aware that the window showing with anything associated with the PDP is a design handed down to them by their hired experts so as to seem relevant and flower the ground for rigging

He then warned that no amount of photo tricking will make Nigerians lose sight of the tortuous and regrettable journey they embarked on with the the APC in the last 42 months.

The National Chairman also dropped an advisory for President Buhari and other APC leaders like Bola Tinubu to perish the idea of mouthing their way to victory again since Nigerians know that once beaten twice shy.

Secondus then warned that no amount of threats and intimidation will deter the people from rescuing the country from the apc's obvious destruction.

* They were the ones who said 8 years was not enough for OBJ, and 6 not enough for GEJ etc They are the beneficiaries of corruption. They are either the full time politicians, corrupt civil servants, journalists, bankers, fraudulent contractors, religious businessmen etc Its no longer business As usual, so they pretend that they are fighting for ordinary Nigerians (na lie!!!)

* When you remind them of how corruption in last government has ruined the nation....they ask you to stop talking about the past

* When you say Buhari is a man of integrity and his fighting corruption...they say his son has a power bike.

* When Evans the kidnapper say something against Buhari, he becomes an hero. When you say their heroes and spokespersons lack integrity (IBB, OBJ, Fayose, FFK, Saraki, Reno, GEJ, Atiku, etc)...then they say look at the message not the messenger (what meaningful words do the robber want to utter?)

*They are not interested in any development in Nigeria, if it means ascribing any success to PMB. 

* Every good news of the nation brings them sadness, and they remain quiet until another bad news crops up

* If you tell them Buhari is building over 300 roads all over Nigeria, they say it is because of 2019.

* Tell them Buhari is developing the rail system all over Nigeria, they say it is not his initiative that Obasanjo and GEJ had plans to do it.

* Inform them about the agricultural revolution how Nigeria now produces its local food and has become a foremost world exporter of food, they say it is Obasanjo that started Operation feed the nation in the 70s (God have mercy!!!)

* When you say Buhari is working to completing abandoned projects, over 8000 nationwide (Mambila hydro power, Ajaokuta Steel Plant etc), they say it is because he has no program of his own.

Aare Gani Adams-led members of the Oodua Peoples Congress,( OPC), has dissociated itself from the recent move by the late Fredrick Fasheun-led members of the group, to endorse the Lagos State All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate, Mr. Babajide Sanw-olu.
Sanwo-Olu will slug it out with Jimi Agbaje of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)
Speaking on Friday, Lagos state coordinator of OPC, Alhaji Mutair Adesina, said the group was yet to decide on the candidates the group will support in the forthcoming elections, both in the state or at the national level.
Adesina also declared that OPC was yet to announce its position in the contest between President Muhammadu Buhari and Atiku Abubakar.
He said: “In Yoruba land, we give respect to the dead and memories of our great leaders. It is unfortunate that the group has failed to respect the memory of the late Faseun, that died just a few weeks ago, and that is too bad”.
“Our leader has the final say, and we are yet to hear from him. The APC candidate is yet to meet with our leader, or even pay him a courtesy call.
“So as a group that is poised to promote the cultural identity of the Yoruba race, our core values are strengthen by our beliefs in restructuring, as it has been promoted always by our amiable leader, and the Aare Onakakanfo of Yorubaland, Iba Gani Abiodun Ige Adams.
“We have our template and structure firmly rooted both in Nigeria and outside the shores of this country. Members of our group are scattered across the country, and in 84 countries across the world.
“Our core values and ideologies are enshrined in all our programmes. So, before we make up our minds we must consider so many things, and key among them is our position on restructuring.
“Therefore, we will definitely bare our minds very soon and at the same time throw our weight behind any candidate that is ready to restructure Nigeria”

The presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, has advised Nigerians to elect visionary leaders in 2019.

Abubakar in his new year message issued on Monday in Abuja said that the citizens could collectively chart a new course for the country in 2019.

“2019 is as yet a blank page. As a nation, we must not settle for whatever it brings.

“We already have the vision, the vision of a nation that is a beacon of hope for the black race and the world at large,” he said.


The former Vice President also advised Nigerians not to lose heart and hope, saying Nigeria is no stranger to overcoming difficulties.

He urged the citizens to remember how Nigeria became the first nation in the world to defeat and overcome the wild Ebola virus, when even first world nations were struggling with the scourge.

Abubakar said that the resilience was domiciled in the Nigerians national psyche and “together we shall win forever’’.

“I wish you all a Happy New Year and may 2019 be the year of Nigeria,’’ he said.

The Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar has revealed how he (Atiku) prevented President Muhammadu Buhari from smuggling looted funds into the country in 1984.

Atiku stated this in reaction to an earlier statement credited to Buhari Support Groups, BSG, accusing the former Vice President of plotting to ferry looted funds into the country ahead of the 2019 elections.
Atiku, in a statement issued by his Senior Media Adviser, Paul Ibe, noted that the Governor of Kaduna State, Nasir El-Rufai, had eight years ago, accused Buhari of smuggling 53 briefcases of looted funds into the country.
Atiku advised Buhari to take a trip down memory lane before making allegations they could not substantiate.
The statement added, “Our attention has been drawn to a statement by President Muhammadu Buhari accusing the Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party PDP, Atiku Abubakar of planning to smuggle in looted funds into the country just before the February 2019 elections.
“This new accusation, like their previous allegations, is another infantile outburst that tells more about the accuser than Atiku Abubakar.
“For the avoidance of doubt, history shows that rather than smuggle in looted cash, Waziri Atiku Abubakar has a record of preventing looted funds from being smuggled into Nigeria.
“In 1984, it was Atiku Abubakar, as head of the Murtala Mohammed International Airport Command of the Nigerian Customs and Excise Department, that stopped the ADC of the then Military Head of State, Muhammadu Buhari, from smuggling in 53 suitcases of looted money into the country.
“Young Nigerians and Millennials who may not be aware of this incident, will do well to Google it. Only the guilty are afraid. It is President Muhammadu Buhari who has a history of smuggling in looted funds and not Waziri Atiku Abubakar.
“In fact, Nasir El-Rufai (Kaduna state governor), a favourite of the President and a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, said as follows on October 4, 2010: ‘In 1984, Buhari allowed 53 suitcases belonging to his ADC’s father to enter Nigeria unchecked at a time the country was exchanging old currency for new.’
“Only recently, Mr. Abubakar’s plane was searched, his accounts have been perused and his businesses have been thoroughly investigated with a fine tooth and nothing remotely corrupt or illegal has been found.
“In desperation, the Buhari administration released this statement to cover their shame on a day that the US based International Strategic Studies Association reported that it is the unprecedented corruption around President Buhari that has led to the recent setbacks in the war on terrorism in the Northeast and the heavy loss of lives amongst the military rank and file. May God save Nigeria from a government that values money over lives.
“We therefore urge Nigerians to note that it is Muhammadu Buhari who has a history and a record of smuggling in looted funds and it is Waziri Atiku Abubakar who has a history of preventing such from happening.
“And while they are at it, we urge them to tell Nigerians those behind Etisalat, now 9Mobile and Keystone Bank, now Polaris and how they suddenly possessed such wealth overnight.”

Katsina State Governor, Aminu Masari, has said that President Muhammadu Buhari is the best candidate among those currently jostling to become Nigeria’s President in 2019.

He insisted that Nigeria would gain more if President Buhari was reelected to the office.

The governor made the declaration in Katsina during the inauguration of ‘1×60 MVA, 132/33KV’ at Katsina transmission substation of Transmission Company of Nigeria .

He said, “Buhari remains the best for us as President of this country. He has served in various capacities. His desire for service places him over and above others. He has demonstrated his total commitment to the growth and development of Nigeria and he has demonstrated that he is not corrupt.

“The programmes he is putting in place virtually in all sectors are for the betterment of our generation, our children and grand children. In fact, Nigeria stands to gain more from him if he is reelected as our President.”

Masari cited the Federal Government efforts in the power sector, maintaining that the various projects being embarked upon by the government were meant to ensure that life become more comfortable for a common Nigerian.

The TCN Managing Director , Usman Mohammed ,in his address at the occasion, insisted that the company has enough powers for Nigerians, pointing out that the major challenge has been making that available for Nigerians through distribution.

Mohammed said TCN had taken various steps to ensure that there is always an improvement in the power sector although he noted that power supply requires joint efforts by all stake holders in the sector .

He added that there had been instances where TCN had to intervene directly to ensure that contractors handling power transmission perform and deliver according to specification.

Mohammed said with all the investments currently being made on power transmission, Nigeria has better prospects in power generation and distribution.
