Politics › Re: Buhari Rejects #400m Armoured Cars. by felifeli: 7:09am On Jul 10, 2015 |
lakzy: President Muhammadu Buhari has turned down an offer by the Federal Government to procure five new armoured Mercedes Benz S-600 (V222) cars for his use.
The cars which total cost is put at about N400m were planned to be purchased by the State House.
A Presidency source told journalists on Thursday that Buhari got to know of the plan when the Permanent Secretary, State House, Mr. Nebolisa Emodi, was briefing him of his ministry’s activities on Wednesday. ADVERTISEMENT
Miffed by the revelation, the President was said to have told Emodi that the purchase was unnecessary.
Describing it as a waste of scarce resources, the source said Buhari told the permanent secretary that the cars he inherited from former President Goodluck Jonathan were good enough for him.
“I don’t need any new cars. The ones I am using now are just fine,” the source quoted the President as saying.
The top government officials, however, said Buhari welcomed other initiatives presented by the permanent secretary to reduce the operating costs of the State House and strengthen its Finance and Accounts Internal Control Mechanisms.
He however directed that more efforts be made henceforth to capture all State House expenses within the approved national budget.
This, he said, was to avoid the frequent recourse by past administrations to “Presidential intervention funds.”
The Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Mallam Garba Shehu, confirmed to our correspondent that Buhari had withheld approval for the purchase of the new cars.
Shehu said the President would continue to use the cars left behind by Jonathan in keeping with his commitment to prudent management of national resources.
Our correspondent learnt that the proposal to procure the new cars was first made to Jonathan before he left office.
The former President was however said to have directed that it be represented to Buhari for approval on his assumption of office since the cars could only be delivered some months after the May 29 handover date. So why did he have to publicize this? |

AmadiAba: Angered by the Federal Government’s alleged transfer of 49 Boko Haram inmates from the North East prisons to Aguata Prison in Ekwuluobia, Anambra State, Chairman of Ohanaeze Ndigbo , Elder Chris Eluemuno, yesterday demanded the immediate relocation of the inmates in the interest of peace and tranquility in the country.
Speaking with newsmen at his country home, Nkwelle-Ezunaka, Elder Elumuno said: “Our position is that it is not acceptable to us having them here, if what President Mohummadu Buhari has to give us as dividend of democracy is Boko Haram terrorists, it is very, very unfair.
“Aguata prison in Ekwulobia is not a maximum prison, it is an ordinary prison and if the Federal Government meant well for us, Igbo, it is not terrorists that they will bring to us, it is not acceptable to us and we are asking them to think again and look for a better place and send them there.
“Let him build a camp and put them there if there are not enough accommodations in the North East prisons, the prison in Ekwulobia does not have maximum security, there are maximum security prisons all over the country.
“Successive Federal Governments of Nigeria have always taken the Igbo for granted and pleaded that nobody should push the Igbo to the walls to incur their wrath, we are asking him to please, remove the suspects from Anambra State.”

Jokes Etc › Re: Heart-touching Story Of How Elephant Killed A White Man In Ibadan. See Picture by felifeli: 8:12am On Jul 03, 2015 |
FriedPlantain: [b]
In 1995, Peter Davies was on holiday in Nigeria after graduating from Louisiana State University .
On a hike through the bush, he came across a young bull elephant standing with one leg raised in the air. The elephant seemed distressed, so Peter approached it very carefully. He got down on one knee, inspected the elephants foot, and found a large piece of wood deeply embedded in it. As carefully and as gently as he could, Peter worked the wood out with his knife, after which the elephant gingerly put down its foot.
The elephant turned to face the man and with a rather curious look on its face, stared at him for several tense moments. Peter stood frozen, thinking of nothing else but being trampled. Eventually the elephant trumpeted loudly, turned and walked away. Peter never forgot that elephant or the events of that day.
Twenty years later, Peter was walking through the University of Ibadan Zoo with his teenaged son. As they approached the elephant enclosure, one of the creatures turned and walked over to near where Peter and his son Cameron were standing. The large bull elephant stared at Peter, lifted its front foot off the ground, then put it down. The elephant did that several times then trumpeted loudly, all the while staring at the man.
Remembering the encounter in 1995, Peter could not help wondering if this was the same elephant. Peter summoned up his courage, climbed over the railing and made his way into the enclosure. He walked right up to the elephant and stared back in wonder. The elephant trumpeted again, wrapped its trunk around one of Peter legs and slammed him against the railing, killing him instantly.
Probably wasn't the same _fucking elephant.
This is for everyone who sends me those heart-warming bullsh1t stories. _Fuck you all!

Politics › Re: Buhari Will Release Ministerial List In Few Days – APC by felifeli: 9:06pm On Jul 02, 2015 |
senier007: ILORIN-The ruling All Progressives Congress(APC) has commended Nigerians for their patience and perseverance over the delay in the appointments of ministers, saying that the list would be released in few days. National publicity secretary of the party,Alh Lai Mohammed speaking with journalists in Oro,in Ifelodun local government area of kwara state on Thursday at his annual 9th Ramadan lecture also admitted that the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari would have fared better had the ministerial appointments been made before now.
President Muhammadu Buhari attending to some files in his office as he resumed duties at the Presidential Villa, Abuja. Photo by Abayomi Adeshida Lai Mohammed however explained that the delay was basically caused by the transference of government from one political party to the other. He recalled that when transition in government took place within the then ruling party, Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) ministerial appointments were usually made two weeks after inauguration. According to him, “The concern of Nigerians over the delay in the release of ministerial appointments is genuine. But the fact is that this is the first time in the history of Nigeria that the opposition party will take over government from the ruling party.” “Our plan was to interface and interact with the outgoing government, but it didn’t just work out so party set up transition committee which later presented 800 pages hand over documents to mister president” “So, in this kind of situation we found ourselves, we have to be thorough in making appointments because Nigerians expectations are very high and it’s understandable. So, in a couple of days the ministerial cabinet list would be made available and it would be a thing of the past” Continuing, he said “We might be slow, but in reality when we make the right appointments, we will make up for all the shortcoming Nigerians have been complaining about”. He also decried the comment of the opposition PDP on the performance rate of President Buhari in 30 days in office saying, “the PDP is just revelling in its new found roles of opposition, they are entertaining themselves and Nigerians” The APC. Spokesman who expressed the determination of the ruling party to stamp out corruption in order to fulfil it’s campaign promises to Nigerians ,further noted that since President Muhammadu Buhari assumed office Nigerians all over the world are been gradually respected because of the integrity of the president.

emmalezy: This man pictured below was in a bus with her last Saturday and he is soo addicted to porn that he couldn't resist doing it in a public bus in broad daylight. Hian!
Hello good day. I'm in a bus going from Ph to Onitsha and this man sitting in front of me, next to the driver starts scrolling through his videos and I saw some naked clips. I saw how he was trying to shield the screen of his phone so that neither the driver nor the passenger by his right will know what he's doing.
After 10minutes, he started opening porn sites and even trying to stream the videos, probably to see which one he likes well enough to download.
Now there are two reasons I took notice of this man plus mad at him for this action. 1. He's married. Because I heard him making a call to someone to take some money to his shop that his wife is there.
2. When the pastor who came into our bus to pray barely finished praying and the driver was ready to leave, the driver was even waiting but this man shouted at the pastor to get down from the vehicle so we can leave. Everyone in the bus was shocked.
Now my question is, why should a married man visit a porn site and even have tons of them in his phone? The devil must really be having fun with our generation of beings. I tried to zoom in and snap when he was streaming a video, don't know if it's clear enough. Mistakenly the flash was on when I snapped but no one in the bus noticed sha. Lol. I'll try to know if I can get more pictures
