igbobuigbo: A friend is in the situation described below:
Lived in Lagos until 2006 Got married in 2005 in Owerri. Moved wife from Owerri (she was working there) to Lagos in 2005. Moved wife from Lagos to Holland (2006-2008). He was studying for MSc; she could not work Moved wife from Holland to UK (2008 - 2012). Obtained his PhD while wife did some okay paying, although not so great jobs. Moved wife from UK to Minnesota, USA (he got a job with a sponsored H1 Visa) in 2012; but wife could not work with her H4 visa Became a Green Card holder with wife in 2014. Wife started working and settling down in Minnesota. Then he goes for a bigger job in Pennsylvania; moves wife along to Pittsburgh in 2015. Wife took several months to get a job because she is not as educationally advanced as hubby. Now he wants to move to Washington, DC, for even a much bigger job. Wife says ''no way. This is becoming crazy. I have a life too''. I'd rather divorce than move this time''.
What do you think he should do? OP Don't do anything rash. Your wife is not luggage and she is not cattle; she is a human being with ambitions which she has been sacrificing for you for years. It is now your turn to listen to her or else you will regret it. Not until when you find you don't have her anymore will you relise how much you need her. Let her stay where she is; if you like go to Washington and come and visit them when you are able. Both of you probably need the distance to be able to appreciate one another better. |

Topman0001: You may or may not love summers. Other than the scorching heat and fire breathing wind, mosquitos make the situation about ten times worse. People are forced to resort to solutions such as mosquito zappers and anti-mosquito vaporisers. However, these can often cost a lot of money since this has to be implemented across all rooms in a house. Here is a simple way to get around this problem, folks. You can now make a nice and simple mosquito trap at home using a few easy to find items. These include: brown sugar, empty 2 litre bottle, water, yeast and a pair of scissors. Start off by removing and discarding the cap of the 2 litre bottle of Coke. Then, trim the bottle in half. Dissolve 60ml brown sugar in 200ml boiling water. Once it is cooled, pour it into the bottom half of the empty bottle and add 1ml of yeast to the mix. Insert the upper half upside down into the lower half and wrap them with a black cloth. You must be curious as to how this technique works. It is pretty simple, actually. Mosquitos are attracted by carbon dioxide-generating sources like animals and human beings. The mix of yeast and sugar gives rise to carbon dioxide at a slow and steady rate. This, in turn, attracts those blood thirsty mosquitos to the bottle with a vengeance. Eventually, they end up in the water and fall prey to the trap. Sourse: www.gizmocrazed.com/2012/05/top-10-famous-logos-which-have-a-hidden-meaning/ It doesn't work. It will only breed more mosquitoes. |

emonkey: He quoted many verses of the bible though , where God demanded that you bring the first fruit which is your first profit/harvest from your endeavour . What I saw particularly wrong is that he thinks this should be done every year . I think it should be done only once if at all , unless you are changing business every year or you are a farmer harvesting every year. It is a matter of choice I think. Only give to God to the limit of your faith. All tithes, first fruit and so on are unscrupulous if demanded by any means. As someone has said any pastor who does this is a thief. |

Politics › Re: 80th Birthday Dinner: Soyinka Replies Rivers Govt by felifeli: 8:48am On Jan 07, 2016 |
Ofunaofu: Nobel laureate, Professor Wole Soyinka has described as ‘abominable distractions,’ statement by the Rivers State Commissioner for Information, Dr Austin Tam-George, that the state would demand refund from him (Soyinka) if he collected cash from the N82 million allegedly spent by immediate-past Governor, Rotimi Amaechi on a dinner to honour him. Soyinka, who reacted in a statement on Wednesday night, said it has never been his business to probe into the “catering and logistical implications” of the hundreds of recognitions he had enjoyed worldwide and wondered why the Ameachi gesture has become an issue under the ‘insecure’ incumbent of the Rivers State government lodge. Although he said the allegation has made him saddened and ‘truly despair”, he added that he was indifferent to it. Soyinka in the statement entitled, “Those who flounder in the sewage of corruption,” said: “This morning, I saw only the headlines in one or two print media regarding the 80th Birthday dinner to which I was hosted by the former governor of Rivers State, the Honorable Rotimi Amaechi, now Minister of Transportation. I ignored them. It was not, and remains not my business to probe into the catering and logistical implications of the hundreds of institutions and governments all over the world to whom I acknowledge an immense debt of unsolicited recognition over the years. “Since then however, I have learnt of some unsavory statements by the insecure incumbent of the Rivers State government Lodge. These included a loose invitation to anti-crime agencies to investigate the potential crime of being honoured through any occasion. The unprecedented call by this governor is prescient of a warning I recounted in my recent pamphlet publication THE REPUBLIC OF LIARS, and was taken from my address to an anti-corruption global conference that took place in Tunisia two years ago. Those words were: CORRUPTION STRIKES BACK. In this ongoing instance, that expression translates most vividly as “Those who are neck deep in the sewage of corruption ensure that they splatter sewage in all possible and improbable directions.” “I do however fully support the Wikeleaks call for multi-directional probes. I recommend further that he involve the services of INTERPOL to guarantee its extension to all international organisations and governments to whom I owe uncountable events of recognition – including birthday luncheons, dinners, cultural receptions and events of real, fictitious, or simply opportunistic flavoring – to which I have submitted myself. “The descent to this present level of abominable distractions makes one truly despair. It is one that even I did not envisage when I warned – CORRUPTION STRIKES BACK! Whether it brings honour or dishonour to the nation is another matter – I am saddened, but indifferent. “EFCC and company – over to you! You all know where I live,” noted The Nobel laureate. http://www.vanguardngr.com/2016/01/80th-birthday-dinner-soyinka-replies-rivers-govt/ [size=18pt] What is this baba saying? Christianity Etc › Re: Why You Should Not Pay Attention To The People That Say "Do Not Judge". by felifeli: 6:56am On Jan 05, 2016 |
Tallesty1: If the Bible is clear about anything, it is about the importance of judging on a regular basis in order to properly serve and honor God.
Every living person is called to judge so I wonder why some people say "do not judge".
They will quickly quote a verse from Matthew 7 which to me is always quoted out of context by people who are terrified at the idea of someone preaching against sin or pointing out any form of error(s) them.
It is not surprising though cause our generation is trying so hard to fulfil the prophecy in Isaiah 59:8 which says that People have refused to judge, so there is no peace.
Why I am writing this post is to inform people, especially Christians who say "do not judge" that they are sinning against God who called us to
"Rebuke" here means "to criticize sharply, admonish, or reprimand." When people do not recognize the error of false doctrine, we charged to call it out and we cannot do that without judging their actions.
A righteous person will talk of judgment. He will not REFUSE to judge. He will talk judgment.
We are charged in I Corinthians 1:10 to
Read what Paul says here:
Every Christian is called to do what Jesus describes In John 7:24 as RIGHTEOUS judgment.
So any Christian that tell you to not judge is either a hypocrite or a sinner.
Stay away from such person.
Now here's how to judge.
Matthew 7: 1-5 allows judging after you have first judged YOURSELF. Jesus did not make a blanket statement against judgment. He simply pointed out a RULE for judging.
Don't rush to judgment and do not make more of a matter than God makes of it.
When Solomon received his kingdom he asked God to
Ask God to give you the grace and wisdom to judge and then judge yourself first because God hates Hypocritical Judgements.
What happens when we stop judging
If you are a true Christian, then you belong to God. You are God's child. If you refuse to judge and improve yourself as a child of God, then God will take it upon Himself to judge you. Go and get a job instead of making it your profession to judge other people for what you simply have no guts to do yourself |
