Sports › Re: FIFA Bans Refillable Water Bottles At World Cup Venues by femi4: 5:45pm On Jun 04
spenzdav:
FIFA has banned fans from bringing refillable water bottles into World Cup venues in a last-minute policy change that will force thirsty supporters to pay for bottled water, The Athletic reported on Wednesday.

As recently as last month, FIFA’s official stadium code of conduct included a clause which read: “For the avoidance of doubt, empty, transparent, reusable plastic bottles, up to (1 litre in) capacity, may be brought into the Stadium.”

However, The Athletic reported on Wednesday that those guidelines had now been tweaked to explicitly ban refillable bottles.

“For the avoidance of doubt, reusable water bottles may not be brought into the stadium,” an updated stadium code of conduct reads.

In a statement to AFP, a FIFA spokesperson said the rule change was taken on safety grounds, noting that several World Cup venues already barred the use of refillable water bottles.

“FIFA is committed to protecting the health and safety of all players, referees, fans, volunteers, and staff,” the statement read.

“FIFA made the decision to prohibit bottles to prevent risk and injury to players and attendees.

“Outside bottles are already prohibited at several of these venues for safety considerations, and FIFA is applying this consideration across its tournament stadiums.”

The statement added that misting stations, fans, hydration stations and cooling tents would be available in “the stadium footprint”.

It added that bottled water inside the venue would be sold at prices which “remain consistent with other events held at each stadium.”

The rule change comes despite experts warning fans could face health risks from extreme heat at open-air venues during the World Cup, which is being co-hosted by the United States, Canada and Mexico.

A report published by the World Weather Attribution research group last month estimated that 26 of 104 games at the World Cup are likely to be played in conditions where the Wet Bulb Global Temperature (WBGT) exceeds 26 degrees.

WBGT is a measure of heat stress on the human body, which combines temperature, humidity, wind and sunlight.

At last year’s FIFA Club World Cup in the United States, where fans complained of searing temperatures, supporters were also barred from bringing water bottles into venues.

Romance › Re: After A Serious Commitment Should I Let Her Go Or Keep Trying To Get Her by femi4: 5:44pm On Jun 04
wfjimmytobby:
There is this calm girl and decent I met about a year and half ago. We met and vibe then start about a week after we met.

She was loving real, not materialistic and very smart, this make me fall more for her..

She was in her final year in school when we meet and she didn’t let her studies affect our relationship. She was always active, infact she was more dedicated and active than me. So I made up my mind that after she is done with school and all I should be able to probably settle down with her.

So fast forward to a month ago, she suddenly changed. She stopped talking to me reply my messages and kept asking her what’s wrong she ain’t giving me any answer despite all my efforts..

Then after that she asked me to leave her alone…though she didn’t block me on her socials and she is not doing any suspicious it really shocking to me. For a girl that craves for my attention all this time and after have already start giving her my 100% she suddenly switch and wants me to leave her alone..

It really surprising and after I thought about everything the only wrong was that I do get mad at her if we had an appointment and she didn’t turn up that’s all..we didn’t even fight or argued much through out the time we were together…now in the situation the question is should I just give up on her and move on or I should give it more time hoping to get answers to what’s wrong…
last last...na everybody go chop breakfast

Its now time to say bye bye. Someone else is getting her attention. Thats the risk with dating school girls

Theres this girl i am getting along with, we had a connection so I thought cuz everything was easy, she likes talking to me, she gave me her number without me asking for it, we got along very easily like I've known her for long.

I had the feeling that things are getting serious so I i asked her if she's single before I waste my time, lo and behold she's not, I then asked her what's the purpose of all this then? She then shamelessly said we can be besties, I i told her point blank with disgust that I don't need a bestie, someone she can be billing while her boyfriend stays wherever he is, boyfriend duties but you're the besty, naso this girl vex and started saying everything has changed simply because she told me she's in a relationship.

What was once a delightful interaction is now resentment, we don't talk again sef.
Naso dem dey do

They always want to eat their cake and still have it

In fact, one dey tell me stop acting like stranger after she don marry. I told her, you now belong to another man, she come dey vex

Hello Lover Boys, Lover Girls, Redpillers, Feminists, Helpless Romantics, and the undisputed Unlovables

The stage is set, share an original quote you have about love and relationships, or you can even share something written by someone else that you think is interesting and also gives insights into this beautiful thing called love relationship.

Here's mine:

You know how smokers use nicotine patch to try and stop smoking? Sadly, many people think they can use a relationship to patch the holes in their lives.
- Stephen O (c. 1756)

A long time favourite by Eric Fromm:
1. Love is the active concern for the life and the growth of that which we love.

2. People take the intensity of the infatuation, this being “crazy” about each other, for proof of the intensity of their love, while it may only prove the degree of their preceding loneliness.

Business › Re: Why Do Nigerians Wait Until They Have Millions Before Thinking About Land? by femi4: 10:25pm On Jun 03
skytechola2020:
This is something I’ve always found interesting.

Ask the average Nigerian if they would like to own land and the answer is almost always:

“Of course.”

But ask them when they plan to start, and you’ll often hear:

“When I have enough money.”

The question is:

How much is enough?

For many people, “enough money” means millions of naira.

So they postpone the idea year after year while focusing on other responsibilities.

The problem is that land doesn’t wait.

A plot that sold for ₦500,000 years ago may now cost ₦5 million or more.

The person who was waiting for ₦500,000 is now trying to raise ₦5 million.

Then before they know it, that ₦5 million property becomes ₦10 million.

And the cycle continues.

Is waiting really helping people?

Let’s be honest.

Most people don’t build wealth by waiting until they have everything.

They start somewhere.

A business starts small.

A house is built block by block.

Even savings grow over time.

Yet when it comes to land, many people believe they must have the full amount before taking any step.

Meanwhile:

* land prices keep increasing,
* development keeps happening,
* opportunities keep moving,
* and years keep passing.

Maybe the issue isn’t that Nigerians don’t want land.

Maybe the issue is that many people believe ownership is only for people who already have millions.

What do you think?

Why do Nigerians wait until they have millions before thinking about land?

Is it:

* lack of trust?
* fear of scams?
* low income?
* lack of awareness?
* or the belief that ownership must always be all-or-nothing?

I’d like to hear your thoughts.
Buying a land isnt enough, you need money to secure it or you lose it to omo onile
