It’s true sha but he can do this one very carefully with his mechanic and make sure the wires to coils don’t get cut and coils don’t get damaged.

If he first changes the plugs and the issue persists then he can always return the old ones back and get the scan. If he doesn’t own a scanner he will likely pay for the scan and I believe the fee to do that can almost purchase some good plugs for his engine.

If he hasn’t changed the plugs in years i think it’s time he did. With symptoms like his on that vehicle it’s likely plugs. . .

I will suggest when parking put the switch to the "A" position, thats for Auto and switch off the car. If the fog lights dont come again then the switch is the problem. My C300 W204 has the same issue, its the parking light that stays on, sometimes its the left side parking light or the right side. After some research, i realised the switch is bad.

Had the same issue recently, it could be the EIS or ESL and it can be both at the same time. You will need to get a well-versed Mercedes Benz Electrical person to diagnose which is the issue. Got mine sorted within a few days.

Hello Owners of Car with Class and Prestige, I was just cruising Home when my AC stopped working and the fan alone was working blowing just air, after some time I noticed that the main Engine Fan blade is on high speed and never stopped ,

I have taken the car to AC tech, and he said the AC Power Board just by the Front passenger seat is faulty, I couldn’t change immediately because of the cost but he said it can be Fixed, he took it for fixing and after the AC started working , the AC is working now with condition, It stopped every 6.10 Pm till the next day before it starts working again.

The main Engine Fan Blade since then with start just 20 Secs after starting the car But will not reduce to Low speed or stop until you switch off the engine.

I have done checks by both Electrician and the AC tech, all they could say to me is that I should Change the AC board.
Please could any body say anything about this and how much and where can I get the Board.

I had this same issue with my W204 but i changed my compressor. With regards to the engine fan blowing at high speed, look for star scanner to to check the car. If you go to Clegg street in Ojuelegba, shouldn't cost you more than N3k to N5k. The thermostat should also be checked.

smart keys started with the facelift versions of the w210 and w202... they a made of microchips enclosed in a plastic material... they are capable of failing at no notice.... if they fall...which is inevitable, or if you remove the car ba3 with the keys inserted, or if rains or water enters them....


once they fail bro, forget it, if your spare key is not around (usually the case)... there is nothing you can do except to get a programmer to code a new key for you.... tokunbo short key is around 8k-12k before programming, new is 18-20k before programming, a complete package may cost you between 20k to 45k for keys replacement.... and heaven help you if you are in your village when it happens....


note you can not join wires under the steering wheels to start the vehicle...nah! even as the owner.... unlike those with conventional keys!

Go for any modern Benz. He is refering to Older models. Yes older models maybe less troublesome due to less electronics, but they'll fail more frequently due to age, wear and tear of parts over time. And to get those parts may be a challenge if you live in some parts of the country.

Reason I ask is because all Mercedes have the metal keys these days. I don’t think you can find any benz from 2003 without the metal keys, I may be wrong.

No I haven't taken it for a scan, the smoke is blue. There is oil coming out of the silencer also and then it makes a slight sound when you rev it, coupled with the fact that the engine isn't running smoothly. All this after routine oil change. One point though is, I stopped using Mobil 1 last year and changed to liqui molly 5w40 last year. This last Service the supplier didn't have 5w40 and he recommended 10w40. I also changed the plugs, used the oem plugs.

So my W204 C300 is emitting a huge amount of smoke after an oil change. I am totally confused at the moment, the car starts, runs a bit rough but the smoke is huge. Been told to overhaul the engine or to buy another engine. Quite sad. Anyone have any ideas on the best option?

He probably didn't apply the brakes properly. In such situations, you pump the brake pedal, not placing your foot on it until the car halts.

Pump the brakes when your car is already installed with ABS? Not trying to be rude but i think you should read up on the conventional braking systems before the advent of the ABS in vehicles.
