bunnae: Una don start. Are you aware he fought in the second world war against the nazis? And do you know that if this claim was true, the media would have fed on it for years to the extent of destroying the monarchy? I disagree with you. They didn't say he was a Nazi. But he had connections with them. Most European royals are related in one way or the other. You know he was from Greece originally. It's very probable he had relatives who were Nazis. They say a picture is worth a thousand words. |

Nigeria only woe is leadership.
OBJ: The genesis of the present day Nigeria. Power monger, pretend to fight corruption but always after his political foes. He forgot his prison experience. Had he gotten it right in 1999, Nigerians wouldn't be deported by Ghana & Gabon, SA won't dare look us in the face & Nigerians won't be in the current mess. Guilty 27%
Yar'Adua: Initiated some reforms, covered up ibori & others corruption cases. At least dreamt & saw vision 20-20-20. Guilty 3%
GEJ: Misused opportunity, chop I chop govt. Look away while the country was being pillaged by his many babes. Didn't believe in any vision. Tried to please the north at the detriment of the south but was betrayed, deceived, used & dumped. Guilty 10%
PMB: Grandmaster of corruption, only forensic audit can reveal the trillions stolen under his watch. Promised heavens brought hells. Runs a borrow borrow govt. that can borrow from a day old baby. Destroyed vision 20-20-20. His vision was that of lekki on the 20-10-20. Divider in Chief (DiC), One chance President who divided the country like no other. Kidnapping, banditry & terrorism businesses boom during his reign. Always indifferent to public outcry, arrests anyone who protests his bad leadership style but protested against GEJ. Baba go slow, took half a year to pick his kitchen cabinet. Prophetically, his case looks like that of Biblical King Saul. Guilty 60% Food for thought. |

olayemite: Nice post op but I need to clarify some few things:
1. Majority, 75%, of the nationals licenced aircraft engineers working in Nigeria's aviation industry were trained in Nigeria, NCAT Zaria precisely. In fact, anybody with aeronautical engineering degree will still have to pass through NCAT by going through a Licence Preparatory Course (LPC) programme, to obtain his/her licence to practice in Nigeria.
2. Pilots earn more than licenced aircraft engineers in Nigeria. A fresh pilot with two bars, first officer, annual pay ranges between 65,000 - 70,000USD per annum while that of a fresh licenced aircraft engineer, also known as a trainee engineer, ranges between 36,000 - 40,000USD per annum.
3. Telecom engineers do not earn as much as aircraft engineers let alone pilots.
Note: You don't have to necessarily obtained a degree in aeronautical engineering to practice aircraft engineering. With your good o'level result in science subjects, you can apply to any aviation college in the world to study aircraft maintenance engineering. Successful completion of this course will make you eligible to practice aircraft engineering anywhere in the world. Hello, please what are the prospects of an aeronautical engineer doing the LPC, getting employment after acquiring the licence in Nigeria? I intend to start the LPC class but I'm thinking of the job prospects especially with the current pandemic. I know this thread is pretty old but hopefully you are still on this forum. Your kind response will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance. |

Nice thread. I like the recommendation made by a poster up there about UK comprising of four countries and yet each nation has its own prime minister. South Nigeria could be built on such framework. I think the UK presents the blue print.
We could run a parliamentary system. Strong institutions, accountability...etc. |

crismark: God is OMNIPRESENT that makes him accessible from any point and at any minute. As for religion, I have given up. 90% of Christains, Muslims, Pastors,Priest, Imams etc are evil... So I think it's high time i face reality. You are very correct that God is Omnipresent. But remember where two or three are gathered in my name, I am among them. Mathew 18:20. It's still necessary to worship God in the presence of other brethrens. Another thing, do not judge so you won't be judged. Mathew 7:1. Leave that part for God. Like I said earlier, just focus on God. God bless you. |

crismark: That's why i hate religion, they have set everything in place to counter our reasoning... Knowing fully well what is happening and still going there makes me uncomfortable!
Anytime I question things of the church they say "DON'T QUESTION GOD". I agree with you to some extent. But remember in every twelve there's a Judas, there's day and night, white and black, good and bad...it's an endless list. You can't paint every leader in the church with the same brush. The leaders are mere mortals, so they are susceptible to errors. Focus on God and not the church leaders. |

You don't worship the corrupt leaders, they are everywhere not just the Catholic Church. It's God you worship. Whatever happens use this lenten period to pray and possibly fast. Attend Mass as much as possible, God bless you. |

Borrow to fix the refineries, if you must...let investors come in and build refineries. Once the refineries are already in place and we are able to locally refine all the fuel we need, there won't be need for subsidy. Completely agree. Very very true. It might sound unreasonable at first glance but he has a good point. Trust me if someone knows the person he/she is going to attack could be armed too, the assailant would have a rethink. If guns are made legal in Nigeria, the first few months might be very bloody as people might misuse it. But after the dust settles, the level of crime would definitely reduce because criminals would know they could get killed or injured if they attacked anyone as majority of the populace would be strapped up. Better than being a sitting duck. |
