FoolishBoy419:Mentally deranged idiot. How many countries have China given aids to help their economy compared to benevolent America |
Truth be said. Christians suffer official discrimination in accessing opportunities in Northern Nigeria given that Muslims are in majority and occupy important positions and so would tend to favour fellow Muslims more. However, there is little interference with Christians' freedom of worship as there are Churches of different denominations in Northern towns. And there are also resilient and steadfast but highly inter-religious savvy pastors in the North preaching the Good News. Yes, some fundamentalist Muslims attack Christians but It is not that widespread. Important to mention that sometimes, interpersonal or intercommual conflicts boil over to religious conflicts with Muslim government officials sympathetic to fellow Muslims. In the the same way, some Muslim Igbos have claimed being discriminated against in South East where Christians are majority. And some non-Catholics in Anambra State have alleged that getting a Rev. Fr's recommendation is more regarded than outright merit in accessing some opportunities. Yet, African traditional worshipers have also cried out against destruction of their shrines by radical Christian clerics in SE. So, there is freedom of worship Nigeria but minor challenges. I believe that US Embassy in Nigeria knows all these things because it has ways of getting facts. |

One shortcoming of Nigeria public policy process is the lack of element of exhaustive SWOT Analysis of an idea and the development of 'bolt and nut' implementation steps to avoid identified weaknesses and threats. That's why process abuse and faliure are epidemic. I am saying that a group of people have to sit down to study and articulate ways of organising Direct Party Primaries in Nigeria with minimal logistical challenges, members' register issue, process abuses, etc. based on experiences and peculiarities of our political environment. May be the political parties should pull resources and appoint some independent eggheads to do this for them. As an illustration, APC used Direct Primary for recent Anambra Governorship election but the National Caretaker Committee connived with Gov. Uzodimma and Gov. Abiodun to install Andy Ubah without any primary. Has any lessons learnt from this? Has any antidote developed? Well ... |
The palpable emotion Peter and Paul are showing on their reunion reiterates the fact that sibling beefing is always a burden to their souls no matter the 'strong-head' attitude they show. Imagine! These two coconut heads publicly displayed "I no care attitude" when their fan consistently begged them to unite but inside them, they were suffering emotional emptiness. There is no substitute to happy sibling interactions as it was when they were younger. Unfortunately, beefing is part of life. But the good thing is reconciliation is also part of life. |

mediainc:Usual cycle. Democrats make fuss about LGBTQ, abortion, etc. Then Republicans come on board, dismantle everything. Then, Democrats surface again... |
mediainc:It can get bad without US counterbalancing. |
SmartPolician:I agree. |
Opportunist. Hope he has refunded money he collected from desperate Andy Ubah |
Oh well... |
Pres Buhari dodged a bullet by waving FEDERALISM as shield. Smart old solider. ![]() |
The influence of United States has waned but it sure remains the only formidable counterbalancing force against madness of Islamic terrorist countries and impunity of Russia and China. May God bless the good old big Uncle Sam. May the glory days return soon. |
ikay00406:Respectfully sir, this is Poo. Has the governor who is a constitutional lawyer and SAN broken the law? If yes, quote it. |
ikay00406:Poo (N) |
Babajide Akeredolu should be commended for getting involved in governance and learning for the future. For goodness sake, it is project monitoring that he is overseeing in the Governor's Office. He is not a commissioner. Look, this young man could have, like most politicians's kids, decided to stay abroad, go shopping at will and visit exotic destinations, and then come back to Nigeria sometimes to cruise in big cars or ride big bikes and 'oppress' people in nite clubs but he decided to contribute to his Dad's government. |
No brainer. You have always wanted to be an accountant as a PROFESSION. Bank Teller is not a profession. Every organization needs accountants but only banks needs Tellers they enslave. Teller job will so tie you down and make it difficult to develop yourself but working in an accounting firm is working to earn, gaining professional experience and with time to go for professional qualifications to earn big in future. No mess up ooo! |
National Conference can't solve any problem because delegates come with the political mindset of "I am here to defend the interest of my people"rather than with developmental mindset "I am here to build Nigeria". So it is more of politicking playground rather than a thinktank. |
Judicial Panel report said that on October 20, 2020, Nigeria Army killed 9 person at Lekki Toll Gate while dispersing EndSars protesters. Investigation by media revealed that on Aug. 29 2021 US Army targeted a drone attack against an ISIS suspect but wrongly hit a crowded estate in Kabul Afghanistan killing 10 persons including children with the youngest being 2 years. Massacre is massacre. It doesn't matter who did it. |
Gen. Irabor is simply saying that blame goes to Gov. Sanwo-olu because whoever invited ARMED forces to do a job should know that they will come ARMED with their 'tools' and therefore should be ready to clean up the mess. The lesson here is, in whatever leadership positions you find yourself, when sh*t happens, NEVER hand over the microphone to your unrepentant critics to tell the story. If you do, you will sweat like naive Gov. Sanwo-olu is doing now, fighting for his political life and fighting to placate Nigerian Army which he desperately ran to for help and indeed other key security providers in Lagos State. That's it. |
Whoever cornered and consistently INFLUENCED smart-looking billionaire Dr. Maduka to run his governorship campaign based on his own PR plan despite his inexperience in political campaign deserves an award. |
The burden of obeying superior's orders. |
Blowing your trumpet doesn't hurt. |
Booooomerang! Boom, you throw dirt at somebody and boom the dirt bounces on your forehead. There is no one who can jump so high as to escape karma. |
Ovamboland:We don't have 'sincere' Foundations in Nigeria to fund such study and research work. They are political tools to play to the gallery and win elections. Moreover, unless it is for political campaign, most fundraising efforts in Nigeria are not fruitful because most Nigerian will put money where they will get immediate returns and even when such fundraising is successful, accusations of mismanagement (real or imagine) will be made, which will distract from main objective. Governmental funding is out it because pays the piper calls the tune. But over the're in US or Europe, there are foundations founded tens of years ago with proper structure to fund activities of interest without any ulterior expectations other than results and report of activity. That's why I settled for overseas funding. I am sure you are aware that most CSOs in Nigeria covering human rights, elections matters, gender issues, etc are silently by HEAVILY funded from abroad annually. |
udele1:Your first reason, "Igbo Sentiment" where you said APC is regarded as Fulani party is FAULTY. For eight years, APC held sway in Imo State with Okorocha as governor. In Abia State, APC is strong because of Orji Uzor Kalu and co. Even in Anambra election, APC got an impressive number of votes. So the issue of "Igbo Sentiment" doesn't arise in the way you put it. I am from Anambra and I will support APGA always unless their candidate is bad. APGA is our political heritage. How do you change the image of APGA Cockrel that is imprinted in the consciousness of hundreds of thousands of Ndi Anambra. It will take ages and even much longer if Soludo does well as expected. If we could 'disappoint' Peter Obi as PDP VP candidate in 2019 in order to keep APGA safe, I don't think Andy Ubah with all his baggage should cry. |
Unbalanced love mentality: Fall in love and fall in like a fool. Now, having been fooled, show 'street-sense' and still show it like a fool. If not for psychological problem, tell me why a pretty woman like Tonto with all her expensive vital statistics enhancements would still be TOO EAGER to show she is 'comfortable' by spending her money on a NEW lover even when the man is LOADED and READY to lead the way like a man and treat her like a BABE she is. The problem with Tonto is her egotistic mindset rather than her heart. She doesn't fall in love with a free mind like a 'young maiden' willing to be pampered. No, she falls in love with sugar mummy mentality and when some men notice this trait, they exploit it. Under this ego problem, is also her twisted tendency to focus more on sexual acts instead of total spectrum of romance. She should learn ENJOY love rather than ACT love . |
Igboho thrown right under the bus in the mud. Look, in developed climes, the members of the intelligentsia drive conceptual duscussion, research and development. I mean the subject matter specialists in the universities and key professional bodies. But unfortunately here in Nigeria, everyone is focused on "what's in there for me". Otherwise, why haven't Nigerian Economic Society and Nigerian Political Science Association collaborated to articulate restructuring proposals for Nigeria. That is, select brainy multidisciplinary experts representative of different geopolitical zones to sit down and use their backgrounds, regional interests, wide experiences to work out the BOLT and NUT of how best Nigeria can be restructured politically and economically to make each zone tap into its areas of comparative advantage to become prosperous. I have no doubt, they will easily get funding from outside the country to do this without interference from politicians. These proposals will published as a document and presented to Nigerian public, National Assembly and state assenlies, ethnic interests organizations, etc to drive enlightenment, engender discussion and serve as a working document. Afenifere and such concerned organization could inspire or instigate these bodies to create a working document instead of making routine noise that will achieve nothing. Waiting for politicians to do anything is waste of time because they don't know what to do apart from their selfish focus on looting public funds. Prosperous geopolitical zones translate to prosperous Nigeria. |
