Everybody deserves a second chance especially if a mistake is humbly acknowledged and apologized for. Obviously, insecure Annie allowed her prejudices and emotional assumptions to dominate her mind and steal her state peace and planted turmoil. Thumbs up to Pero Adeniyi for honouring Tubaba by flying down to Nigeria with her boyfriend to clear the air while chiding insecure Annie to focus on her marriage. This same fate await Davido as he goes around sowing slimy white oats on random gardens. |
These are all LIES. The perm Sec. just had to prepare an address, which his boss will be happy with. Nigeria educational system needs surgical operations to meet the needs and challenges of the current times especially given the need for entrepreneurship to counter the unemployment that our mismanaged economy caused. The issue of graduates not having requisite skill is not true. Our graduates who have 'japad' to Canada and other countries are impressing their hosts. Yes, like in every society, there are poor graduates but to lump all graduates together as poor is criminal to say the least. |
One root-cause of the recent crisis in APGA is that in 2017, some chieftains who had been in politics before Gov. Obiano constituted an active threat to his 2nd term bid. They believed he didn't achieve much to deserve 2nd term. In reaction, Obiano became ruthless and strategic to avoid the rug being pulled off his feet. Ruthless in identifying his intra-party detractors. Strategic in choosing his valuable associates. In the same vein, his no-nonsense wife Ebele also began to step on toes. On March 17, 2017, Prof. Soludo SURPRISINGLY gave his "No Vacancy in the Government House (if Anambra is not broken, why mend it)" speech to formally herald Obiano's 2nd term bid. This surprise move was a signal to Obiano's detractors that he was not politically naive after all. Thereafter, Prof. Soludo also led Obiano's 2nd term campaign to a stunning 21/21 LGAs success. By now, the handwriting was clear on the wall. The anti-Obiano chieftains could sense an Obiano/Soludo alliance. Naturally, they became apprehensive about their own 2021 governorship aspiration. Thus, the battle line was drawn. As one good turn deserves another, on June 23, 2021 Gov. Obiano used his position in the party to bulldoze his way to successfully install Soludo as APGA candidate after controversial primaries. The battle that ensued involved parallel party primaries, Jigawa Court ruling, Kano Appeal Court ruling and Supreme court's decision that ended it all, forcing many of these anti-Obiano chieftains to leave the party in frustration though most of their supporters stayed back with pain in their hearts. This was captured by Iyom Bianca Ojukwu in her recent emotional outburst on Facebook. Therefore, following this electoral success, Prof. Soludo must be ready to drive a robust reconciliation effort in the spirit of "onye aghana nwanne ya". The genuinely aggrieved members who left the party should be reachout to. The HERO's widow, Iyom Bianca Ojukwu must be reassured and carried along but certainly not treated as a goddess who must be appeased at all cost. Nevertheless, the known toxic or troublesome ones should be ignored completely. Reconciliaton is necessary in order to strengthen APGA for future. |
The silent message in this IBB's congratulatory press statement is that Prof. Soludo has what it takes to be President of Nigeria and he should, therefore, use his performance as governor of Anambra State as a springboard. The ball is Soludo's court. |
afube:Tinubu supported Gov. Dapo Abiodun against Amosun but he isn't his godfather. Gov. Abiodun is trying to be a smart 'neutral' politician by being in good books of both opposing camps for 2nd term purposes. |
It is obvious that at the end of the day, the old Oil Mineral Producing Areas Development Commission (OMPADEC) is likely to be resurrected as against the current regional Delta Development Commission (NDDC) accommodate non-Niger Deltan oil producing States. I am personally happy that Anambra State made it. However, SS Senators and leaders should insist on oil producing States getting returns in line with how much each produces. The only regret here is that NIger Delta region has nothing to show for decades of existence of NDDC except abandoned hundreds of uncompleyed project buildings, fatter politicians' bank accounts and of course the NDDC building. What a waste! Sad. |
Recent Anambra election showed clearly the INEFFECTIVENESS of the tactics of APC National Caretaker Committee Chairman, Mala Buni and his political camp to cultivate a new bunch of members loyal to them to fight other camps during National convention. All the money-facilitated and EFCC threat-induced high-profie defections bore little fruits. The by-passing of party heavyweights who belong to other camps backfired terribly. I am sure Gov. Mala Buni, Gov. A. Bagudu, AGF Abubakar Malami, Gov. Hope Uzodomma and co would be scratching their heads in confusion while Jagaban camp and other camps will smilling, knowing that fight ahead will be INTERESTING. |
Time to show this midas touch in Anambra State. |
Victory is sweet. The lord has set the table for Gov. Willie Obiano in the presence of his political enemies. |
Enthrenched factionalization of PDP more than poorly trained INEC personnel or any other reason contributed to its moderate performance. The fact is that if Chris Uba's faction of PDP should reconcile with Peter Obi's faction, PDP will make life difficult for APGA in Anambra State though It must be said that the ideology of "Nke a bu nke anyi" has become deep-rooted. Prof Soludo's victory is fruit of hard work of young dynamic APGA members - men and women - who worked assiduously in their individual wards to refresh the essence of APGA in the minds Anambra citizens. Day and night, they worked. They invested their personal resources time and energy to build and maintain relationship with both old and young people in various villages in Anambra State. Even with many crises and threats that faced APGA, they delivered. They should take a bow. |
zero8zero:Pass this observation to the presenter at Twitter handle @SEzekwesili That's the way it is done. |
From a very humble beginning to massive heights through bold risk-taking. Never say die mentality. One man squad. Bullish 'fighter'. Largely Nnewicentrist. Good heart. Listening ear. |
That's when Prof. Charles Soludo was called Charlie nwamgbafor (Charlie son of Mgbafor). Unfortunately, Mgbafor his mother is not alive to witness the events of today. May her soul rest in peace. Amen |
Hope APGA's ward to ward foot-soldiers are working to complete the good work they started. No slacking, bikonu! |
Dr. Godwin Maduka has age on his side to still become governor in future. The same with Val Ozigbo of PDP. But for Maduka, he doesn't need all these shalaye. He needs to call Prof. Soludo and congratulate him immediately and if possible have a lunch with him. Then, he should start exploring possibility of joining APGA. The fact is that Soludo first ran for governorship in 2009 under PDP and could have won if Pres. Yar'adua didn't die because his wife was Turai was backing Soludo. When Pres. Jonathan came on board, he jettisoned his own party's candidate and backed Peter Obi of APGA. From 2009 to 2021, Soludo joined APGA and garnered enough goodwill to run again and today, he is Governor-in-waiting. It is never an easy journey unless you have a Tinubu as godfather. Dr. Maduka needs to restrategize immediately. The first step in doing this is to send Alex back to Abuja and seek the counsel of some trusted Anambra elders to guide him on the next steps. |
post=107440897:Look, that your moniker has Anambra in it doesn't make you more Anambra than I am. I don't know how old you are but if you are satisfied with infrastructural and developmenal status quo in Anambra State, good for you. It is unacceptable to me as an onye Anambra and I am entitled as a citizen to demand a raise of standards. This is my last interaction with you on this subject. Thanks. |
post=107439969:Raise your standards. Thanks for engaging. |
obynzo:Nwanne, abum onye Anambra State. So don't use the existing standards to boast to me. I know what I am spewing. My happiness is that I believe Prof. Soludo knows what's up too. Don't settle for less. Standard has to be raised above Naija standard. If we make demands of our Governors, SE will be lead the way. Udo! |
ifiokjohn:I don't do tribal stuff. Your standards might be low but as an onye Anambra, I know what I am saying. How many world class residential estates do we have to encourage wealthy Igbo businesspeople to set up at home? How many world industrial estates do we have to encourage siting of industries? We just built Anambra Airport in 2021. There are no streetlights and CCTV to help fight crime. How many entertainment theatres are there to encourage creative people? How many well-equipped hospitals and clinic at LAGs, etc. |
There is more to this story than the uncle being a RICH man. It is either the wife is from a wealthy home or she earned big and worked JOINTLY with her husband to put together those buildings. It could be the house he wanted to sell is actually the ONLY house the family has and wife wants to live far away from the village and its wahalas. Otherwise, why should the man seek permission to manage his OWN investment portfolio by deciding what to sell and what to do with the proceeds? Every man who worked hard, saved up and invested wisely will be RESPECTED and 'lovingly' TRUSTED by his wife to make further decisions on the family properties. Yes that's it. |
The truth is that Anambra State or any state for that matter doesn't need to CONNECT WITH THE CENTRE to develop infrastructurally and meet the social needs of its people. What every state needs is a LEADER - with vision, roadmap and ability to make his team share the vision and accomplish the critical timelines of the roadmap to boost local economy and strengthen social services. - with developmental ideas that can move from paper to reality - with ability to shrewdly manage State resources as well as has ability to strengthen IGR base. No matter how much noise Igbos make about being enterprising and wealthy, the truth is that South East is still largely under-developed infrastructurally and economically. The abysmal performance of most South East Governors, both past and present, has let the region down. Moreover, the wealthy Igbo businesspersons haven't really invested their idle money to set up businesses in the region to create jobs and boost local economy. The harsh reality is that people from other regions on visit would only look around and wonder if there is any marked difference between their regions and SE region. There are much more to SOCIETAL DEVELOPMENT than beautiful houses built by individuals in villages. We need many world class residential and industrial estates to complement Think-home philosophy. We need good roads with streetlights and CCTV to help fight crime. We need to abandon Nigeria standard. We need visionary Governors in Ala Igbo URGENTLY! |
MERCHANDISER:His performance as the Governor of Anambra State will determine that to a large extent. |
All over the world, every political party has a stronghold. Even in US, there are traditional Democrat or Republican States. Therefore, any candidate running on the platform of any party in its stronghold stands an excellent chance than the other candidates. Anambra State is APGA's stronghold though PDP is also strong though its strength is whittled down by protracted factionalization. Therefore, it is a no-brainer that Prof Soludo with the well-run ward-to-ward campaign of APGA would have upper hand in last Saturday's election. |
The Soludo Solution has been long on the way facing several hurdles since 2009. Now it is finally here. Kudos to Gov. Obiano (Ebukuedike) for conscientiously sacrificing numerous political relationships and breaking hearts in the overall long-term interests of Ndi Anambra.

It is a still a surprise how APC got this much number of votes because: 1. State APC heavyweights such as Senator Chris Ngige, Chief George Muoghalu, etc refused to participate in Andy Ubah's campaign having being brazenly cheated out of APC primaries. 2. While some big APGA members defected to APC, their foot-soldiers who made them tick stayed back in APGA. 3. Hope Uzodimma's attempt to lead Andy Ubah's campaign infuriated most Anambra people and it was widely discussed across the state and rejected. Though he deliberately pulled out of the scene later, the damage had been done. |
Ndi Anambra have spoken. Respect it. |
United States is waiting for IPOB to disrupt Anambra State governorship election to classify it as a terrorist organization and cut off its main source of funding. US embassy in Nigeria follows IPOB activities and reports back. Maybe someone tipped them off. Nigerian diplomats who were already waiting to make a strong case would be disappointed and would now wait for another opportunity . So it is fear of America rather than love of the common people that inspired this move. But it doesn't matter because sometimes threat can inspire wisdom or common sense. One just hopes that the armed foot soldiers on ground get this memo in time and clearly. |
