As Speaker of Representatives, Ghali Na’abba gave ex-President Obasanjo so much headache with his forthrightness and outspokenness between 1999 - 2003. Having failed to remove him as Speaker, Obasanjo worked overnight to undemocratically deny him re-election by manipulating to deny him PDP ticket during primaries in Kano State. Na'Aba with his trademark unsmiling face has a positively strong and highly principled personality. He is impatient with frivolity. He is not a typical Nigerian politician who easily compromise under pressure. He sticks stubbornly to his values, which is why he is politically alienated in Kano State. He is not an intellectual but he has a heavy natural leaning towards erudition. |

Like George Floyd, like Sylvester Oromoni. His parents MUST set up an anti-bullying foundation to campaign against bullying in our schools in honour of his memory. |
Anytime a person with STRONG spirit is messed with, 'revolution' follows. Sylvester, I salute you. Rest in peace. |
This meek-looking woman is the person who hides away all the money looted by Bukola Saraki. Over the years, she has developed deep and wide expertise in packaging convoluted shell companies that often appear mysterious to investigators. Fear her. |
What happened to WHITEMONEY RESTAURANT™ ![]() |
The gentle but maverick son of a billionaire who lived to suit his fancies on his own unconventional terms. He had a large heart and smiled a lot. Rest in Peace Bolaji. |
greypencils:I am sure Zlatan and Peruzzi will not be happy with you. |
The palpable emotion Peter and Paul are showing on their reunion reiterates the fact that sibling beefing is always a burden to their souls no matter the 'strong-head' attitude they show. They publicly displayed "I have moved on attitude" when their fans consistently begged them to re-unite but they were suffering emotional emptiness inside. There is no substitute to happy and peaceful sibling interactions more so when they are twins. Unfortunately, beefing is part of life. But the good thing is reconciliation is also part of life. |
I had wanted to slam Bisi Alimi as ''noisy, meaningless and toxic" but the truth in his damning statement is keeping me tongue-tied. Interestingly, these ''noisy, meaningless and toxic" songs get Grammy nominations and awards . Well, what do I know. ![]() |

talk2hb1:We are all grieving along with Sylvester's parents but vital lessons must be learnt even in grief. No kidding because life is ruthless. |
Of course, the innocent boy's parents have a generous slice of blame. They ought to have acted more responsibly, proactively and swiftly in protecting their young son. I remember when a woman told me a story of how her little daughter in primary school was being caressed and kissed by a boy from a big family everyday in school bus on their way home. Instead of breaking up the two minors, the minders tagged them husband and wife. Somehow the woman got to know and was still foot-dragging. I shouted at her to take the girl away from boy the next day or I will personally tell her husband. Of course she saved the innocent girl before it became late. So, Mr. & Mrs Oromoni failed by their indecisiveness in the face of threats by badly-raised thugs. Unfortunately, the punishment for this blunder is that they will regret the avoidable death of their son till they die. |
bolabiyi:If the army went to Lekki Tollgate to "shoot peaceful youths" rather than disperse them forcefully, your postergirl DJ Switch couldn't have made it out of that Tollgate alive having, according her, confronted the commander with 'dead bodies'. Sanwo-olu will not walk alone. |
If you were Gov. Sanwo-olu on 20.10.20 in the heat of EndSars protests with the structure of Nigeria Police in Lagos totally broken down and total lawlessness staring you in the face, what would you have done in that moment of uncertainty and desperation to steady things quickly before it deteriorates more? I have thought of this and I kept wondering. You know what? Gov. Sanwoolu will not walk alone! |
I can't vouch that nobody was killed at Lekki Tolgate on 20.10.20 but I can confidently say there was NO MASSACRE. I believe that Ebun Adegboruwa SAN pressured the Panel chairperson to settle for massacre. If there was massacre, that Tollgate would have been littered with dead people and DJ Switch wouldn't made it out of the place alive. |

One shortcoming of Nigeria public policy process is the lack of element of exhaustive SWOT Analysis of an idea and the development of 'bolt and nut' implementation steps to avoid identified weaknesses and threats. Worrying about funding at this stage instead of process is negative. That's why process abuses and failures are 'epidemic' even when adequate funding is done. My opinion is that a group of people need to sit down to study and articulate PRACTICAL ways of organising Direct Party Primaries in Nigeria with minimal logistical challenges, members' register issue, process abuses, etc. based on experiences and peculiarities of our political environment. May be the political parties should pull resources and appoint some independent eggheads to do this for them. As an illustration, APC used Direct Primary for recent Anambra Governorship election but the National Caretaker Committee connived with Gov. Uzodimma and Gov. Abiodun to install Andy Ubah without any primary. Have any lessons learnt from this? Can antidotes be developed? Well ... |
There is no one who can be so rich or so powerful as to escape death. Rest in peace ever smiling former Senate President Joseph Wayas. |
Wizkid remember say motherless babies go do Christmas. Thank you for understanding. |
samorobo:You are the one whose mind needs urgent purification from dirty-mindedness and prejudice. Look, all I communicated in my comment is that Tonto Dike needs a HUSBAND but unfortunately she wants it on her own terms. And not achieving her aim is making her a little frustrated and depressed. |
Many of these educated Yahoo convicts will be disqualified from holding certain public offices in future and even will be denied visa to visit US as its Embassy in Nigeria work witg EFCC to compile dossiers of these convicts. #Gloomy |
PointZerom:It is the principle of "onuru ube nwanne, agbala oso" playing out. That's it. |
PointZerom:Onye Abia visited onye Abia not secretly but openly. Wetin concern legal team? Mazi Kanu could have decided not to come out to talk to Orji Kalu and nobody could have forced him. He is not a child. |
Person no go visit him brother again. ![]() |
I admire Lamido Sanus' intellectual boldness but the balkanization of Kano Emirate is a positive development. Change is constant. The case will go up to Supreme Court. |
