You will need to get a license from Visa and Master card in order for you to charge directly, however I heard it is very expensive. Furthermore, after you probably go through that stress, it would take you hell to build your reputation so people can trust you.... for example, I don't put my card info if don't see "WebPay" by interswitch.... some don't even put their card details anywhere.

Also for some strange reason. Interswith has a strong relationship with Nigerian banks and I heard none of the Nigerian banks would deal with any company that isn't Interswitch.... so overall, I would tell you it is not feasible to do that

If your website uses WordPress, download WordFence plugin.... It would totally fix everything.

Please, I need to build a mobile app that is capable of mining out a few information/data from a database of regularly updated numerical entries. The app does some random selections, generate some sets or lists or arrays as the case may be. It then does some intersections and some iterations and countings. And that's all.
It's indeed a very simple programme, an Android application.

I am very surprised up till now Nairaland doesn't have SSL enabled by default. The reason for having SSL/TLS enabled can't be over emphasized. However I won't argue with the decisions seun as made thus far for the platform just my suggestion

However for those interested in enabling SSL/TLS on their website, there is good news. It's possible to have it for free. There has been an initiative by the Internet Security Research Group to provide SSL for all web application

If you find the documentation a bit too technical just follow the instruction here https://certbot.eff.org/ it automatically enables HTTPS on your website for free and even does the auto renewal.

It will be nice if Nairaland have this basic layer of security. Just imagine someone doing an MITM attack on one us ones password and other details will be in clear

Please Nairaland web admin enable HTTPS abeg. even https://www.bellanaija.com/ has it already. And please don't tell me that it will reduce speed it absolutely not the right justification

I really understand the OP's point.... when it get's to that stage, he'll change technology.

For example, 1 of my apps has a chat room, for the chat room I used a 3rd party cat lib which allows up to 20 simultaneous messages/sec for free users. I didn't say because of this limitation, I won't implement the chat room until I write my own chat script/ have a dedicated server.

Right now, I'm approaching that limit , but already have what I need to upgrade ready... so guys leave the OP let him do what works for him.... after all, with the current status of his engine, he shouldn't experience issues

There's nothing like "It's too early for advert".

Do a good job and let people know it's open to advert, no matter how young it is and you'll be surprised about the result.

The message simple makes it known it is open to adverts. I've designed some apps where the client did the same and within days after release, they started getting requests.... sometime Adverts is not really to make money from what you are selling, but just for awareness
