Why's everyone so concerned about the age ?... OP, why did you mention your age ? It shouldn't be a factor.

You tried for the site, I'm not really good in UI so what I do is give a graphics designer to design the look in PS and I'll use css to do the job.

Hello geeky geeks

Please I need your help. Some scammers sent me a link in the form of an attachment. I mistakenly opened it meaning I have exposed my phone to them.

I don't have money in my bank account just yet but I want to know how I can prevent them from hacking my account. My salary will be paid soon and I may be exposed.

Please help.
Did you open the link with your phone ?
If yes, did it install an app on it?

If you did, un install the app, or else nothing to fear. It's not that easy to steal bank info via mail

If your friend still needs to go to school ?
If that's it, then yes he still needs to go to school and get a certificate. Doing that cannot stop him from learning what he wants to learn

What type of books did you read, that gave you the understanding on how to solve those kinds of questions.
Like Chinenyen said... It's about critical thinking. I really dislike reading except it's a documentation. What I do that enables me solve complex problems is:

I imagine I am the compiler and ask, what instructions do I need to be given in order to perform this task ?
What complex set of instructions do you give your legs in order to walk. (That's just a sample).

In your question, they basically don't want you to use Arrays, Collections, Vectors etc because they make it too easy

Thank you, I figured how to do the first. My problem is that I don't know how I can get my hands on how to use some Java inbuilt methods.
Methods like ?

Besides you can check for the documentation of the class that the method belongs to online

I have read the book upto Recursion, its a good book though.

I can solve exercises on the book very well.
I'll advise you work on your logical thinking. Maybe I don't understand the question. Is it that you are trying to solve the above using major OOP concepts or you just can't solve them, probably because it seems impossible ?

If you are looking just to solve them, I can easily assist with the first since that's the simplest then you can challenge yourself to do the rest

Hi all, please am seriously tired of waiting for Nigeria Universities to offer me my dream course (Computer Science). So am planning to apply for APTECH Programme but am totally confused even after reading some stuffs on their site.

Below are my Questions:

Q1: What type of result will I be awarded after I finished my programme?

Q2: Can I use the awarded result to apply for a higher institution in Nigeria?

Q3: I will like to study Andriod/Web Development, which course should I apply for and what is the duration.

Q4: How much is their registration fee, and after paying the fee will I pay another one?

Q5: Do they have Computers in their centers, or it is a must to buy one?

Q6 (Last Q): And I heard that I can forward abroad in their affiliated universities, is the admission hard to get? and how much do you think it will cost.

Please I really need this infos, Mod please help take this to FP.
CC: Lalasticlala, Seun, Ishilove, kodewrita , lordZOUGA, Javanian.
The certificate is Advance Diploma in Software Engineering (ADSE).... Depending on the course you go for

With ADSE, you can go for Top up in affiliate universities

If you have your ADSE, getting Admission in the affiliate uni won't be a problem. The 90% sure one is Middlesex University because their Nigerian office is actually Aptech at Victoria Island. YOu can check Middlesex website to see

They do have computers in their training centers of course. I've not been to all, but the few I've been to, yea

ADSE was 1.1 million for 2 years and the payment varies then

Finally, I don't think you can get admission in any Nigerian university with ADSE
ProgrammingRe: Can Nairaland Programming Section Be More Like Stack Overflow by FincoApps(op): 9:10pm On Jan 26, 2016
The aim of this post is not to compare NL to SO at all, but to complain about the programmers that ignore questions and about the newbies that ask vague questions

Here you will see topics like:

- my php code is not working (no code sample or screenshot or whatever)
- help, my server is not uploading files (no error message or anything)

and even when they do dump codes, they will not dump the area that is not working but all the file.

here, you can see a script like:

$new=new CLASS;
....
...
...

not working. Because you dont have the code of the class, you cannot even run the sample code. And usually the nairaland programmers would not have known where area of the problem surprisingly.
Most times, i just use my eyes to debug and waka pass.
hahahaha such questions provoke me too
ProgrammingCan Nairaland Programming Section Be More Like Stack Overflow by FincoApps(op): 11:39am On Jan 26, 2016
There are somethings I noticed about the programming section here in Nairaland.

First, when there is a general discussion of maybe a technology, notice how other programmers act like professors.... mentioning different terms and concepts of programming. However when someone really needs help and asks a question, people become very reluctant to answer.

I noticed in Stack Overflow, people willingly lecture others for free, post helpful links, even write helpful codes.

Some programmers told me it's because what they suggest might not help the person... true but at least it would help other people that comes across a similar issue.

Lastly, people that ask questions, be more detailed... sometimes you see questions like
My Eclipse is not working...help
My code is not working
I cannot add users on my blog

L cheesy L, is it magic... try to provide code samples of what you've done, screenshots or the exact quote of the error.

Let's be more helpful
ProgrammingRe: Eclipse IDE Step Up Settings Needed by FincoApps(m): 11:37pm On Jan 25, 2016
Please provide details of the error, it might be your code.

From my experience, if the issue is either your JAVA_HOME or that your Eclipse and Java versions don't match, Eclipse would not even start at all. You would get an error like "Eclipse could not find JRE or JDK in path/to/eclipse/folder/jre/bin....". So please paste the exception here
