HOUSTON - Federal agents arrested a man believed to be the ring leader of an organized Nigerian crime group. Emmanuel Akioyamen is charged with conspiracy. Investigators said Akioyamen would use several Houston street gangs to help him steal money orders out of apartment rent drop boxes. The investigation began in Conroe, but quickly expanded to included eighteen different law enforcement jurisdictions. Investigators said once the money orders were obtained, Akioyamen's group would wash them and soak off the information, including the amount. Then, they'd dry the money orders and fill them out with their own information. When it came time to cash the fake, fraudulent money orders, investigators said Akioyamen would recruit homeless men and women to do it. According to court documents obtained by KPRC Local 2, he'd pay them $50 to $100 for every money order they cashed. Investigators estimate the total amount of money stolen is between $1 million and $5 million. Neighbors were shocked to learn about the allegations against Akioyamen, who lived in northwest Harris County. "There's always a lot of people in and out of the house, " said neighbor Melissa Oehing. "I could never figure out who lived there." "It's kind of scary," said Sheri Kendall. "Knowing something major like that is going on three houses down." Investigators said he was running the crime ring from January, 2011 to December, 2011. This is his Picture below.

Is there any website to watch this game? Thanks! |
@jp phillips That was bunch of nonsense you just regurgitated, Soludo was the worst thing to ever happened to Nigerian banking systems. In a sane system, Soludo will be in prison for high financial crime and ponzi scheme. Starting from his crooked recapitalization to allowing politicians to access banking loans to buy elections, everything was fraudulent! Soludo was a voodoo economist on steroids. Sanusi is by no means a saint but if he hadn't taken steps he took, millions of depositors would have lost their life savings and much more. Soludo made crooks like Akingbola, Ibru etc. a Hero. Soludo was so inept, it was terrible! Many politicians and crooks burrowed money without collateral under Soludo's watch. Banks were reporting fake and crooked profit to the public and sending it to the CBN without Soludo asking questions. When the whole world and bigger western banks began making adjustment for recession, Soludo was busy telling Nigerians that the recession will not affect Nigeria, imagine that? The guy was a goat! I am not a fan of Sanusi but atleast we get a trace of reality from his administration. The problem with Nigerian banking system is that it is saturated with clowns and obnoxious individuals. GET A GRIP! |
I really feel bad for the affected workers, it's not easy when someone with responsibilities lose his/her job but i pray that the grace of the lord be sufficient for you guys. It's not the end of the world, it might be a gateway for you guys' success. |
@stagger I understand your point but i still feel some sympathy for Nigerian bankers, they don't know any better. If you check my profile post back to 2007/2008, i have been warning bankers to develop other skills cause banking industry is prime to collapse. I was particular about Intercontinental bank because of their sharp practices and bad customer services. Intercontinental bank employees were the worst in the banking industry. They boast and obnoxious, predicted this was coming. I pray they find a way to support their loved ones. |
We can end corruption by shooting at sight or by Chopping of fingers. Large scale crime = chop off the ring finger and make them pay the money back. Medium scale = Chop off the index finger plus restitution, small scale corruption = chop off the pinky finger plus restitution. |
The Divisional Police Officer, DPO, Pen Cinema Police Divisional Headquarters, Segun Fabunmi, has been arrested and detained on the orders of the Lagos State Police Commissioner, Yakubu Alkali. P.M.NEWS learnt that Alkali ordered the arrest of Fabunmi, a Chief Superintendent of Police, CSP, who allegedly shot dead Demola Aderinto, one of the youths playing football on a street at Ogba, Ikeja, Lagos, Southwest Nigeria, during today’s nationwide protest against the fuel subsidy removal. It was gathered this afternoon that Alkali ordered that the killer DPO be detained at the Special Anti-Robbery Squad, SARS cell in Ikeja pending the investigation of the incident. The state Police Command spokesman, Mr. Samuel Jinadu, a Deputy Superintendent of Police, DSP, confirmed to P.M.NEWS that the DPO has been arrested and is currently being interrogated over the incident. The late Aderinto was playing football with some other young men when the DPO and his men stormed the area. The DPO and his men allegedly shot into the air to disperse the harmless street footballers. But when they refused to be intimidated, the DPO and his men opened fire on them, killing Aderinto while three others were severely injured and were rushed to a nearby hospital. Fabunmi and his men lied that they opened fire on the defenceless footballers because they attempted to disarm them. Chairman Ifako-Ijaiye Local Government Area of Lagos State, Apostle Oloruntoba Oke, who visited the Pen Cinema Police Division demanded for justice, adding that the autopsy report on the deceased might confirm the police claim or otherwise. He condemned the unwarranted attack on innocent citizens in the council area and called on the residents to be calm and not to allow the crises degenerate further. —Dedeigbo Ayodeji |

I have always said it. Islam is a religion of Violence. I hate that religion called ISLAM. Any country that welcomes Islam is chasing away their peace of mind. Nigeria, you are cursed with Islam inside of it. |
It is funny how bankers are now the ones Complaining and making negative noise about their banks. Few years ago, a banker will almost fight you if you dare say anything negative about Nigerian banks. Bankers fail to see what some of us has seen for a long time, banking job is not a job for a well meaning individual. Working at a local Govt. in Nigeria is better than working in any Nigerian bank. |
Is that where he was living?? The house looks like an abandoned building. Na wa o. How can a man be evicted from such a building?? |
RIP Ojukwu, but i do NOT think we should lower flags and declare holiday for his death. We'll not have that flag or a national holiday to declare if Ojukwu had gotten his wishes. |
@Bluetooth Did your Mama know you are on the internet?? |
To My Fellow Yoruba folks, Please have respect for the Dead! No matter what was in our past, Dim Ojukwu was one of us and i pray that his soul rest in perfect peace. |
Ibo People are some of the weirdest people i have ever met, how can anybody eat starch?? That is really disgusting. |
No be ATM chop your money, na bank staff chop your 20K. Bank workers are hungry and angry these days. |
What is so funny in this Non-sense?? White boy and white girl doing what they do (Being Ridiculous and Goofy) and we all thought this is funny and made headlines?? This is absolutely Non-sense. |
It's funny how all the women on this post are berating the girlfriend as if they will not do the same thing if it happens to them. %99.99999 of modern Nigerian women don't fall in love for love's sake, they fall in love because of the guy's class and status. Nigerian women of today equate status to love. Some of the women here hyperventilating would bailed on the poor guy. @OP Move on to the next bus stop, this girl was in love cause you had a job. And it's unfortunate that most Naija girls are like that. Take a break from love until you get your life back in control. This is the sad reality of the world we live in today. |
It's a tie between Orji Kalu and Alao Akala. The 2 are one of the worst things to ever happen to Nigeria. |
Even though i fell into a wayward hand, i don't regret dating her. The relationship i had with her made me appreciate the relationship that i have with my fiancee right now. My ex did it all; lies, cheating, lack of authenticity etc. I'm getting married next month to a woman who values honesty and faithfulness. I wish my ex well, because she will need it, but i hope she has changed. |

I love Nigeria with all of my heart. I'm no longer in Nigeria but Nigeria gave me the best childhood compared to any kids anywhere in the world. Nigeria gave me an envious childhood, a childhood that kids in America will wish to have. I don't agree with all the political and economic situations in Nigeria now but i would love for my kids to also get a taste of Nigeria. |
