1 Chinese worker killed, 2 injured at Zambia mine

JOHANNESBURG -- Clashes at a Chinese-owned mine in Zambia have killed one Chinese worker and injured two others.

The official Chinese news agency Xinhua reported the attack happened at Collum Coal Mining Industries Ltd. on Saturday, citing information from the Chinese Embassy in Lusaka. Embassy officials did not answer requests for comment Monday from The Associated Press.

The mine is in the same area where two Chinese managers were accused of shooting coal miners during a labor dispute in 2010.

Labor conflicts at Chinese businesses in Zambia are pointed to as examples of problems with Chinese investors across Africa. In 2005, an explosion at a Chinese-owned factory in northern Zambia killed 51 Zambian workers.

Soludo was the worst thing to ever happened to Nigerian banking industry! He wasn't brilliant, Crude oil prices helped him flushed cash into Nigerian financial sector and Soludo mismanaged it by his silly policies. When Soludo was the Gov. crude oil was selling at up to $120 in international market and Nigerian financial market was flooded with cash and Nigerian banks benefited immensely from that, instead for Soludo to implement a lasting policy to build a strong and lasting banking sector he allowed corrupt bank CEOs to run rampant with depositors money. Banks were lending politicians money to rig elections, banks began begging people to burrow money to buy into shaky Bank shares, banks were lending Nigerian bigwigs to burrow money to buy their shares examples are Arisekola Alao, Otedola, Segun Osoba etc. Soludo did NOT check these excesses but instead encouraged it. Banks flooded Nigerian newspapers with cooked and fake profit declarations and awards and Soludo did NOT blink, Banks were opening 3,4,5 branches of the same bank on one street and Soludo did NOT ask why? Bank CEOs were buying Jets and Helicopter and Soludo did NOT question them, Medical doctors, Pharmacists were working in the bank and Soludo did NOT ask where professionalism went etc. When the global meltdown began and the whole world were bracing for a soft landing, Soludo famously said and i quote "Nigeria will NOT be affected by the global recessions". A year later, banks began to lay-off thousands of their workers in 2009. And we found out that most of the Nigerian banks were broke and barely breathing, they were burrowing money from the CBN to survive. We also found out that most of the profit and awards they declared were lies! I'm not a Sanusi fan but at least we can get a fair situation of things in the Nigerian baking community and we know which bank is sick and which is okay. Contrary to all the lies Soludo was feeding Nigerian populace. The most regrettable thing under Soludo was that we found out that his publicized banking re-capitalization very fraudulent and fake. IN A CIVILIZED SOCIETY, SOLUDO WILL BE IN JAIL FOR ORGANIZING A PONZI SCHEME.
