More than a hundred women stripped and posed naked with mirrors in Cleveland, answering a photographer’s call to blend art with politics and portray Donald Trump as unfit for the White House. They gathered on the eve of the Republican National Convention, where the brash New York billionaire will be anointed the party’s nominee for president after winning a raucous primary race despite alarm from the party establishment and the country at large about his divisiveness. “He is a loser,” photographer Spencer Tunick said after the sunrise shoot in which 130 women took part. One hundred of them will be featured in the picture to be unveiled shortly before the November 8 election. The installation took place on private property in sight of the arena where the convention kicks off on Monday, the focus of multiple groups of protesters expected to take to the streets this week. The owner gave permission, said Tunick, and so while public nudity in Cleveland is illegal, it was not possible for police to intervene. Entitled “Everything She Says Means Everything,” the photo art featured women of all shapes, colors and sizes participated, holding up mirrors toward the arena. Tunick’s website said the mirrors reflected “the knowledge and wisdom of progressive women and the concept of ‘Mother Nature’… onto the convention center, cityscape and horizon of Cleveland.” The artist is well known for his sometimes startling images of nude people. But Tunick said he thought it was his most political shoot ever, saying he felt compelled to take action. Just voting against Trump at the ballot box in November was not enough. “I have two daughters and a wife,” he said. “I can’t believe the language and rhetoric of hate against women and minorities coming from the Republican Party.” He said he had to do something to counter “this idiotic thinking.” MaPo Kinnord, 55, an art professor and artist, said she took part because she loved Tunick’s work and happened to be visiting her niece in the city where she grew up. Currently living in New Orleans, she said the installation opposed Republicans who were making Americans afraid, by telling them they should fear Muslims and immigrants. “To be totally naked and out in the open and to be fearless is what we need to be,” Kinnord explained. Trump has called for a ban on Muslims entering the United States and a wall to be built on the Mexican border to keep out illegal immigrants. Kinnord said she would “never” vote for Trump and expressed hope that Britain’s recent referendum voting to leave the European Union had been a wake-up call against complacency in the US election. While she voted for self-declared democratic socialist Bernie Sanders in the primaries, she said she was happy to back presumptive Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton. Morning Robinson, 18, took part with her mother, saying she wanted “to do something a little different” before going off to college that would enable her to express herself freely. “I was really nervous at first,” but it felt good being out in the open and not afraid of her body, she said. “Republicans have this view of how women should be in society and I just don’t agree,” she said. “I don’t know exactly, I just know their views don’t match mine.” Size-wise, the artwork was a far cry from Tunick’s most recent work. In Colombia in June, he convinced more than 6,000 women to bare all in Bogota as the war-torn country neared a peace deal with the leftist rebels of FARC, the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia. The man who bought world most expensive shirts made entirely of gold has been allegedly battered to death by twelve people, police said. Datta Phuge made headlines in 2013 when he bought a shirt made with more than 3kg of gold and worth £186,943-reportedly to improve his luck with women. The money-lender, from western Pune, was called “the gold man”. Police said some 12 people attacked Mr Phuge, 48, in Pune, India, on Thursday night. They suspect a dispute over money led to the murder and confirmed that 4 people have been detained for questioning. It is alleged one of the suspects had invited Mr Phuge and his 22-year-old son to celebrate a birthday at an open ground in Dighi area when the men attacked him with stones and a sharp weapon. Datta Phuge was killed on Thursday night Police said the son had witnessed his father being murdered and had been spared by the alleged killers. “However, we are investigating how Mr Phuge reached the open ground where he was murdered,” Dighi police station inspector Navnath Ghogare told the Press Trust of India news agency. Mr Phuge often wore gold all over his body and his famous shirt took a team of 15 goldsmiths two weeks to make working 16 hours a day creating and weaving the gold threads. Last year an English doctor David Williams was in Ghana visiting his daughter who was teaching English and working on a radio show when he met Ethan’s father Charles, who also worked at the radio station. Dr Williams was asked to examine Ethan and within a year he and his wife Jacquie helped to raise around £51,000 to fly the toddler to the UK for surgery. Ethan is set to have what Dr Williams has described as “life-saving and life-transforming” surgery on Wednesday. The three-year-old boy will get life-saving surgery. Ethan Suglo’s condition is called Exomphalos which means his organs are outside his abdomen. Looking back on the day he met Ethan in July 2015, Dr Williams told the Press Association: “I was asked when I went out, because I’m a doctor, just to have a look at Ethan. “So I went thinking I’d see a little African boy with a swollen tummy… malnutrition and worms, and when I got there I was just shocked by what I saw. Ethan has a condition called Exomphalos which means his organs are outside his abdomen (PA) “I’d never seen it before, certainly not in a two-year-old. I don’t think I’d ever seen it in my career, I’ve been a doctor 20 or 30 years and I’d never seen this case. “I wasn’t sure at that time what would be involved, but I did look Charles in the eye and said I’d do what I could to help.” He said he thought he would contact Ghanaian or Nigerian surgeons and the surgery could be carried out locally, but it quickly became apparent that Ghana did not have the facilities or expertise. Dr Williams, from Stretton-on-Fosse on the Warwickshire-Gloucestershire border, contacted professors and surgeons in England and a paediatric surgeon at the John Radcliffe Hospital said he could do the operation. He was told that £25,000 would need to be raised, so in March a fundraising campaign was launched to cover the cost of the operation, flights and additional costs. Dr Williams said that he has been told the total currently sits at around £51,000 thanks to events such as cake sales and half marathons, as well as help from charity Willing and Abel. The extra money will help other children, he said. Talking about how Ethan’s condition affects him, Dr Williams said that Charles has told of how people in their home country refer to them as “the family with the boy who’s pregnant”. He added: “They don’t let the little boy go out of the house because everybody pokes his tummy and prods at him and makes comments. “So when he’s at home he will be able to go to school and have a normal life, play football and be a normal boy again. “He’s incredible really. He’s a very happy child, a very happy disposition. Nothing seems to have fazed him really. He’s met lots of people and he’s very brave. “But also he just gets on with it. He’s just an adorable three-year-old.” Ethan’s father Charles said the kindness of Dr and Mrs Williams is “bringing a lot of joy and excitement” to his family. “It’s a miracle,” he said. http://www.enzyhub.com/little-boy-born-with-his-organs-outside-his-stomach-exomphalos/

Diet or sugar free drinks are the choice of many. But now, scientists say you could be doing your health a disservice by opening a can or bottle of your favourite diet drink, because the body craves the missing calories, prompting you to eat more. According to the Researchers, sugar-free drinks and snacks may fail to fully activate the part of our reward section of our brain, meaning we miss out on that feeling of being fully satisfied. They believe that the brain gets confused after the sweet taste of a diet drink doesn’t pack a calorific punch, therefore it sends signals to the drinker that not enough energy has been consumed. The team discovered that when fruit flies and mice were placed on a sugar-free diet they ate 30% more than those on a normal plan. The research also suggested that artificial sweeteners could promote hyperactivity, insomnia and decreased sleep quality. READ ALSO : 7 foods you need to eat when the weather is hot It’s worth noting that the team only tested sucralose (a calorie-free artificial sweetener), but believe the same effect is likely to happen in similar sweeteners. More testing is obviously required, especially as the study only involved fruit flies and mice. “When sweetness versus energy is out of balance for a period of time, the brain recalibrates and increases total calories consumed.” Many people swap drinks containing more calories and sugar for lower-calorie or artificially sweetened alternatives in a bid to curb weight gain. Much of the research in to low-calorie/calorie-free artificial sweeteners has been largely inconsistent and it’s thought that they are okay to consume alongside a healthy, balanced diet – in moderation! “I think that this study is slightly misleading, but there is an aspect of truth to it. People obviously do crave food (calories) if they are not getting enough. This is true of all foods, not just sugar free drinks. Artificial sweeteners are causing a rapid rise in blood sugar levels in the same way as pure sugar does. This is then followed by a slump in blood sugar levels, which causes cravings. In addition, we do know that artificial sweeteners still cause your body to expect corresponding amounts of calories because of the sweet taste it is experiencing. When the body doesn’t get those calories, it can trigger your body to want the calories from elsewhere (making you hungry). Why not opt for something delicious, healthy and refreshing such as coconut water? “Artificial sweeteners are often heavily processed and have a strong sweet flavor. I would suggest that people try to get rid of that sweet tooth. Avoiding sugar and artificial sweeteners will help with your energy levels – giving you a good steady release of energy throughout the day, rather that bouts of extreme energy followed by lethargy. If you do need to sweeten something, though, you can use natural sweeteners such as Yacon syrup or coconut sugar. These are much better for you and taste delicious. Remember, though, that ideally the goal is to get rid of that sweet tooth!” she said READ MORE HEALTH TIPS --> http://www.enzyhub.com/the-danger-of-drinking-sugar-free-drinks/ lalasticlala |
