Their customer care reps are still saying same thing. . that they can't do anything, that they're sorry bla bla even their twitter guy is yet to give me feedback after telling me he will look into it.

That 'stop' didn't work then. . after sending it then I got no reply, they stopped deducting that after talking with their twitter rep.

I've being using my mtn line nw since 2009 n my #1 has never been deducted. watch wat u do on ur line bro. Most of u subscribe to this services ignorantly and b4 migrating to any plan, ask for d terms and conditions, most comes with a month free trial of all this services and once the free trial expires I'm always sure a msg is sent telling u that you'll be charged d next month and to stop it do the following but most u choose to delete those msges instantly without even going through them.

I'm not a novice in ICT. The main reason I bought that line is for browsing cus I don't like removing my main line. So tell me how I subscribed for caller tune in a line I hardly use for calls. I've called them severally to deactivate everything on that line that has been milking my credit

This is something I just don't understand in this country. I don't know where else to report or complain about this MTN frequent extortions from MTN.

I'm now scared of leaving or recharging credit on my phone. it all started with MTN backup, afro beat and caller tune deductions. Whenever I recharge they would keep deducting the money till I have nothing left. I've called the customer care severely about it but all they keep telling me was that they're sorry, that they have canceled it yet after some days they start again. I had to go to there twitter page and complain, which they refunded me the money and all the deductions stopped.

Now this night I recharged #200 and tried transferring 100 to my main line (cus I want to subscribe for their night plan) but was shocked by the sms I got that I have insufficient balance. I quickly dialed *556# to check my balance but nothing was there.
The customer care rep told to call back tomorrow..That he is sorry bla bla

I know the money is small but this is daylight robbery. Imagine when they do this to about 500k subscribers.

All I want is my airtime back.

This extortions must stop.

URUMQI: Consumers may be about to get more options for the colour natural wool products as Chinese scientists have used gene editing to alter the coat colours of sheep.

The researchers in Urumqi, Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, have bred five sheep with different colours with the technique, known as CRISPR-Cas9.

At the Xinjiang Academy of Zootechnical Science, the sheep are eye-catching: Two of them carry black and white fur like cows, two of them are black with white spots like spotty dogs, while the other is brown and white like unstirred cappuccino.

“The lambs, born in March, have become our lovely pets,” said Liu Mingjun, head of the research team.

A final year medical student in Chennai, 22-year-old Santosh was shy of his slight baldness and decided to go for a hair transplant procedure last month. But two days after the surgery, he was dead.

His mother, P Josebeen, a nurse, is heartbroken. She said she could only watch helplessly as her only son developed a fever immediately after the 10-hour-procedure involving around 1,200 hair transplants and died on the third day in a private hospital.

His parents allege the doctors at the Advanced Robotic Hair Transplant Centre who performed the procedure were not surgeons and the anaesthetist left soon after the procedure began. Both doctors are now missing.

“They earn fifty to sixty lakhs every day. For them, only money matters. They don’t value life. I lost my son in a short time. This should not happen to anyone. We need justice, arrest both doctors,” Ms Josbeen said, who had paid Rs 73,000 for her son’s surgery.

Authorities say the hair transplant centre had obtained a licence only to run a hair salon which too expired two months ago. Although they had qualified doctors one of who was trained in China, there was no infrastructure to tackle any complication. The centre has no sterile place or an operation theatre, officials said.

For now the authorities have sealed the centre. The drug controller has recovered a huge stock of medicines kept without licence.

The state medical council has sent a notice to the owners while the health department is recommending using a tough law to regulate such centres dealing with surgical procedures including hair and wart removal, often masquerading as beauty parlours, spas and hair treatment centres.

The police have filed a case of suspicious death and are now working on exhuming Santosh’s body since he was buried without a post mortem.
Officials from the hair transplant centre were unavailable to respond to the charges.

However, a police officer who did not want to be quoted said, “They are based out of Pune with 17 centres in seven cities. This centre appears to be getting around 35 clients every month.”
