Don't mind Seun and his funny mods. He needs to send some of his mods on training seriously. One of them banned me for one week, for mildly replying an insulting moniker on the politics thread. Maybe the mod was one and the same person but with a different moniker, who knows. Instead of banning the one who insulted, he handed me a week ban. I was apparently inactive for 7 days. I'm not the type who would be registering multiple accounts just to air my opinion. I just endured the ban in peace while it lasted . I almost pulled out of nairaland in anger but then, I remembered I'm also a manager of human beings.

The former Governor of Anambra State visited the monarch at his palace in the ancient town of Warri, Delta State, on Friday.

Naija News reports that the LP presidential candidate paid a courtesy visit to the Olu of Warri on the occasion of his first anniversary of the ascension to the throne.

Activities marking the Olu of Warri’s anniversary celebration continue at Ode-Itsekiri, the ancestral home of the Itsekiri, with cultural display and homage paid by Itsekiri sons and daughters home and abroad.

POLITICS NIGERIA reports that the former Anambra governor visited the musician on Wednesday amid the latter’s online rift with Obi’s supporters.

Veteran entertainer, Charles Oputa popularly known as Charly Boy, as well as Femi Kuti’s son, Made, were also in the meeting.

“I can give you the periphery of our discussion. We talked about how bad Nigeria is, and I gave him some ideas on what I felt needed to be done to put the country on the right path of development,” Kuti told Punch.

“He also mentioned that campaigns should not involve threats, and he said that was why he came to apologise to me for the actions of some of his followers who threatened and abused me on social media.”

Spokesperson of the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the 2023 election, Atiku Abubakar, Dino Melaye, has said his principal will receive the support of Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State.

POLITICS NIGERIA reports that the rift between Atiku and Wike started after the governor’s desire of becoming the party’s vice-presidential candidate for the 2023 general elections failed following the emergence of the Delta State Governor, Ifeanyi Okowa, as Atiku’s running mate.

“Reconciliation is ongoing. We’ve gone extremely far on it. We have made tremendous progress,” Melaye told Punch in an interview published on Saturday.

“Wike actually is a distinguished member of our party. He is a strong pillar of our party and I can assure you that he will work and support the candidature of Atiku Abubakar and the PDP.”

Meanwhile, members of the committee constituted by Messrs Atiku and Wike have begun discussion with a view to ensuring reconciliation.

The committee members comprising representatives from Atiku and Wike camps met on Friday at Government House, Port Harcourt, Rivers State.

Former President Olusegun Obasanjo has disclosed a discussion he had with the 2023 presidential flag bearer of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Tinubu during their recent meeting.

DAILY POST recalls that Asiwaju and some of his allies visited Obasanjo at his residence in Abeokuta on Wednesday.

Although the duo had kept mum over what played out at the meeting, it is speculated to be connected to the 2023 presidential election.

The ex-president who spoke at the inauguration of a 300-man planning committee on the installation of the new Olowu of Owu, Oba Saka Matemilola, said he told Tinubu that he had added two phrases recently used by the former Lagos Governor to Yoruba vocabularies.

He said: “We now have two vocabularies in the Yoruba dictionary, ‘Emilokan’ and ‘Olule’. These two vocabularies are now popularly used”.

“I asked Bola and he laughed. I said whether the vocabularies are good or bad, we have started using them.”

Recall that Tinubu had during an outburst prior to the APC primary election used the phrases while revealing that there was no way President Muhammadu Buhari would have emerged winner of the 2015 presidential election without his support.

A man is in hospital for surgery after accidentally cutting his own testicles off while sleeping.

Ghanaian farmer Kofi Atta, 47, also known as Wofa Atta, dozed off in an armchair and said he managed to pick up a knife while sleeping and dreaming about cutting meat.

In his sleep, he said he mistakenly cut his testicle.

Still in a dream-like state, the farmer from Assin Akomfede called for two neighbours who rushed to his house and found him alone, covered in blood.

He was rushed to St Francis Xavier hospital in Assin Fosu.

Speaking to BBC Pidgin he said: "I was sitting in my chair when I dozed off. In my sleep, I dreamt that I was cutting some meat in front of me.

"I don’t remember how I picked up the knife, even I am confused."

He explained that he was still unsure of what had happened when his neighbours arrived, although he stood up and felt a sharp pain in his genitals.

Perhaps as a result of the loss of blood, Kofi only came out of the dream state when in hospital. That's when he realised he hadn't been chopping meat for a family meal, but rather his own testicles.

The victim’s wife, Adwoa Konadu, disclosed that the latest incident is not the first time her husband has carried out such activity while sleeping.

She said that he frequently moves, converses, and occasionally fights while he is asleep. It was during one of such episodes that Wofa Atta ended up damaging his genitals.
