You re the only one that has hit the nail on the head. The nationalization is not out of the need to spite Russia but a technical solution to allow German banks supply funds to a non-sanctioned entity so that the companies dont die off and put Germany in energy consumption difficulty.

The question I then have is if they succeed, wouldn't Germany still have the same issue whenever the nationalised companies transact with their former parent affiliates in Russia?
